Friday, Following Your Own Plans
As leaders, we homemakers make the plans that later let us be confident followers without reinventing the wheel every day, thank goodness!
Today, are you following your Dailies of morning, mid-day, evening?
or following your Basic Weekly Plan?
or following a Focus Cleaning schedule?
or following 'round the edges of a room for a systematic declutter?
or are you following that sensible group of "D"s that keep a day neat and tidy?
How have you already led your household in planning
so that you can have an easier day today?

Thank you Harriet! I'm still "on vacation" with dd here. I need to not sleep in so late because I wake up feeling that I'm falling behind.

Re: Friday, Following Your Own Plans
Good Morning!
I've spent an hour in the kitchen getting several ingredients ready to eat. Sometimes I like combining foods but I'm going through a phase of wanting to choose and pick ingredients at each meal. But I don't want to cook all the time so I am trying to have single ingredients ready to eat. I can mix & match quickly if they are already cooked. Single ingredients prepared this morning -
** cooked apples and raisins. Oops. I guess I did combine these two ingredients. That is how the family likes to eat them.
** Sweet potatoes
** Russett potatoes
** Rice
** Hamburger meat
** Sweet teriyaki Chicken filets
** Beef Short Ribs
** Cooked onions
** Yogurt protein drink. Another 2 ingredient combination meal premade.
While I am going through surgery recovery I am relying heavily on protein drinks and yogurt to keep my protein % up. I normally don't buy single portion flavored greek yogurt but the boredom factor has influence me and now I am eating one or two a day. Oikos is the highest protein (15g) that I could find.
Today is a week since surgery so I get to start gently brushing my teeth on that side. Progress!!
DD48 just text that she is bringing DD13 home. She had asked for DD13 to stay until Monday but is returning her 4 days early. I need to do an inventory to make sure DD13 has her preferred foods available and ready to eat.

Dailies are getting done well, today.
I'm in the kitchen, too. One interesting thing, learning tweaks to make my coleslaw in smaller batches now that there are 2 of us and we might not want it several days in a row. HRH likes a more vinegar-y slaw and I like a creamier one. But I add vinegar and lemon juice to his after taking mine out and there's not much problem.
Ds called again and chatted awhile.
Next up will be bathroom spifs.

Re: Friday, Following Your Own Plans
We had a surprise visitor. A roadrunner! A few years ago a roadrunner used to come regularly to our front door and entertain us because he would do a dance as it saw the reflection (the door is full length clear glass). Then the roadrunner stopped visiting but we would see it running on the side of the road and pastures. What really surprised me was we had 3 visitors that had stopped by and we were chatting in our living room just a few feet from the front door. The roadrunner had no fear of being close to 5 noisy people.
This morning the cat brought a mouse and a rat (both dead) to our front yard and left them a couple feet from the chair that DH sits in almost daily. I asume the cat was showing off its hunting skill.
This week we had several critters visit us - possum, raccoon, two tree frogs, mouse, rat and roadrunner. The possum made the fatal mistake of going into the dog yards.

Free Day Friday, Fun day Following My Own Plan!
CI ~ I am back from errands
Got food and some sewing items fabric, bobbins, a needle threader, thread & new hem marker mine is way bent!
In anticipation of Nov. sewing fun!
I have pre-washed the fabrics they are drip drying on the deck rail before they get put in the dryer.
-----
I put the fabrics in the dryer soon to be done.
I cut up the green ones into strips.
I sorted boxes of papers and put a small amount of them away that helps yea for small progress.
Had some lunch earlier.
walked ddoggo around the block it was not as fun as some b/c of an encounter of a diff. dog that thought he owned the street an
older pug and doubt he had teeth bo back up the bark he had. We are fine.
I am enjoying my new shirt too big but I got it that way on purpose so I can wear a vest under it!

Re: Friday, Following Your Own Plans
Fun wildlife post, LadyM!
Our complex FB group had photos of a fox on the street. I partly wondered if one from the cottage had stowed away in my car!
My day got away from me and I only accomplished one thing, working on the houseplants. I managed to re-stake the big ficus, add stakes to the other three ficus (fici) plants I've started from cuttings off the big one, and staked the jade plant that needed staking. I cut back my purple heart, heartlessly, because it has way too straggling. The cuttings are all rooting now in water. Finally, I watered them all appropriately.
I put away the extra queen size bedding from the cottage and a third set of towels. I'm not exactly sure from where I got the remaining two sets of towels that are still up at the cottage but it wasn't where I put the towels today.
I met with the office to go over next week (two of my events have to be moved because the landlord is using our social room). confirmed what's up with Halloween and who will buy candy, and book the social room tentatively for the AGM and the Holiday Party. Picked up the mail and confirmed there's room in the recycle bins for the recycling I have in the car.
I had long chats with both of my kids.
Wow, it is starting to sound like I actually did stuff today but in fact, I've done very little. I have no idea what to have for supper tonight. I guess I'll bring up the rest of the stuff from the car and there's a can of chili in that load I can eat.
