Big day here…Rivalry football weekend. My house is divided … I went to University of TN and my son graduated from Alabama. One of us will be happy with the outcome!

Need a giggle or two?

Remember the lost light bulb? I knew it would turn up somewhere. We keep our cases of water in the laundry room and when I reached in an open case for a bottle, I came up with a light bulb! We had a good laugh about that.

Then last night Sweetie was already in bed and I came over to kiss him good night. He reminded me of his lost id medal I made for him, plus a whistle that it was attached to. He carried them in his front pocket and has been searching for them for several weeks. I knew they weren’t in any of his pants pockets cause I figured they would come out in the wash, but I had checked all of Sweetie’s pants anyway.

I figured Sweetie had reached into his pocket for something and they fell out when he removed his hand. I asked him if he still had his little flashlight that he uses when he walks. He opened up his night stand to show it to me and as I looked down into the drawer I noticed something blue in the bowl that he keeps his change in. There were his lost items. We both laughed till the tears roll down our faces and then Sweetie said….

You need to write a book about Life with an Engineer with Alzheimer’s.

yesterday dd younger and I went to the Chicago botanic gardens pumpkin walk.
amazing what people can do. I don't like creepy so some were not my speed but amazing work by crafts people!
We had a lovely time.
dd older decided not to go and took mom home and gave her her nighttime meds
when we looked at the camera - oh my goodness she had Spanish tv on - she was sound asleep in her chair and woke up - and then went back to sleep - I don't know how she did it but she changed it from the hall mark channel to Spanish tv.

dd older wanted to bring mom here at 9 am but I need some time.
she will bring her meds and bring her breakfast.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I didn't come back through later yesterday because I took some time upstairs for genealogy and crafting, then needed to get moving on Shabbat dinner prep. We all had a great evening, food was yummy and plentiful and company good. We did some clean up last night and started the dishwasher, and I just finished things up this a.m.

Dh is home from Torah study and dd has gone out to see friends.

Dh and I will go to an arts/crafts festival this afternoon. Dh was leaning on dd to go with us today and she was planning other things. I told her to hold her boundaries with him. She is here to see friends too and needs to do that while they aren't working. She wants to go to the arts/crafts thing tomorrow with friends, and dh can't/won't wait until then.

Good morning!

We had a late night with monitoring teen activity. We had 4 teens here until 11:30ish.
When I get frustrated with not getting things done, I must stop and remind myself that raising teens is a phase and won't last forever.

DS18 arrives later today for a visit. I am not sure how long he will be here. I first heard Tuesday. Then I heard Monday. However, I know his life is full and I will be happy with whatever time he can spend here.

We are going to our little town fall festival today. I heard there were about 30 vendors, several food trucks, and local bands playing most of the day. They have set up a stage and blocked off the main street so there is plenty of room for different groups to perform. There is always the Comanche Indians dance in full native dress, a pet contest, Mr & Mrs of the town, beauty contests, etc.. All the normal things you would expect a tiny town to do when we are gathering. We do have several community events a year and this is one of them.

I have a pot of salsa simmering on the stovetop. I don't use a recipe but just add things with a general idea of ingredients I want to include.
Sometimes my salsa turns out okay and other times it is WOW this is OH SO GOOD! I am thankful today the salsa taste is WOW status.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.
When life gets difficult, learn to sing & dance in the rain.

CI / Note to self do not drink caffeinated coffee after dinner.
I was up mid nite - ish could not get back to sleep. So... I haydrated needed to do that.
I did some stuff cooked a squash and dumped the trash did QT & some in planners.
Thawed out hb for soup.

Slept till 8 and have finished up the more mild gb soup I wanted to make and it's in jars now.
One will be for the weekend others for later. It worked great to get that squash cooked up before hand!

Listened to a couple of planner info. vids one on a new release and got a few great ideas to jot down.
Ark. Razor backs playing this afternoon.

Last nite got a section done on the knit dish cloth in yellow ombre, and rainbow colors on a hot pad for new sets
I'm working up in those colors currently.

Have to wash a shirt then cut the tails off and re-hem it.

At some point I want to do up plain biscuits to flash freeze up might be before I cook em. X
Did up 2 batches of uncooked yeast rolls they are flash freezing now.
the others are bagged up.
These will go great with most of the soup I have here.
Maybe even what I call a shepherd's pot pie version with them on top!
Yeast rolls are OMM / maybe later not today.
I can improve that plan.
got dressed.

Waving to all luv reading posts about your day!

Dh and I went out to the arts festival. Didn't buy except for a sticker for my computer. Had a good time, saw several friends and chatted. I'm going to stamp for awhile before the football game.

hello again
soup prep took longer than it should but soup is cooking now.

dd older and dd younger took my mom out!
gave her food and gave her her meds yay!

time to clean up the kitchen
then make the base of the bread to sit out all night to ferment
called pain pays de madame hell. (yes that's the name) says: Madame Hell, in Ranspach-le-Bas, made nine or ten these loaves in one batch in her old wood-fired stove each week.

wow cooking can take time.

hi d twins. so happy you had a great evening!!!
have fun at arts/crafts festival.
good for you dd holding her boundaries about going out with her friends which was planned -

dd s dog is having a big long bark time to stop him
talk to you all soon
it is always a joy to be here with you!

"Pain pays de Madame Hell" means Country bread of Mrs. Hell. Pain is bread, pays is country. (Kathryn, did I get this right? I speak very little French these days.)
