Sunday ReSet PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Reset for the week! What needs to be fine-tuned? Do you need to write stuff down so it doesn't go by the wayside? What can you do to make the week, and rest of month easier?

Good Morning!

Twins - Thank you for the start.

Yesterday was an interesting and memorable evening and night. We were juggling and monitoring 7 teens at different times in multiple places. The end results are that all teens are safe and that is the biggest most important thing. DS16 pickup had a radiator hose fail while he was in the city about 7pm last night. Thankfully they were in a well-lit mostly safe parking lot when it happened. It took 4.5 hours of effort and 3 vehicles to get the pickup repaired and everyone safely home. There were 3 other teens and a minor (9 year old) with him. ANYway, I did things that made me uncomfortable (driving 2 hours at night with teen passengers) but it all worked out okay.

DGS18 arrived during this memorable experience and jumped right in as if it were normal life for him. This type of experience is the opposite of his normal life. I'm thankful he doesn't seem to judge the differences but seems to embrace the experience. DGS18 drives a 100k new vehicle purchased by his parents for him while DGS16 drives a 25 year old pickup that he bought himself. DGS16 vehicle seems to be continually providing plenty of life lessons on how to recover when things go wrong at inopportune moments.

The boys got into bed around 3am. DD13 was up and going a little after 6am. #LifeWithTeens

I am enjoying having single ingredients of real food ready to use. I love being able to quickly combine and be creative in preparing a meal. I started doing this because of needing soft nutritious food during surgery recovery. However, I am enjoying having multiple single ingredient real food prep done so much that I don't see a reason to stop.

Einstein and I are working together. There are places, like corners, he can’t get into so I do those with my battery operated vacuum. I like to prep my home before I set Einstein to work. There are certain throw rugs he doesn’t like and I clear the floors from things like small trash containers and such. I also make sure all wires or cords to lamps are out of his way.

I cleaned my kitchen counters and washed my coffee pot parts. I have a coffee station set up… the only appliance on my counter..and the rubber mat I use to set my pot on needed to be washed… done I also spent time cleaning the crumbs out of the edges of my stove top.

I have deep dusted my MB blinds. I hate them because they are so difficult to clean and am considering putting plantation shutters up like I had in AZ instead. The shutters were so much easier to clean

Now I want to deep dust my LR. It’s amazing how much less dust there is in this house compared to my home in Mesa

I was supposed to go to a meet the church for possible members but I just couldn't - I feel horribe- I wrote them - unfortunately there is no phone number to call. It turns out that I thought d mom could be on her own but dd older said she is coming over now.

I made a menu plan for the week this morning!
I had made a good soup yesterday but I will have to double the soup.
I have to have a menu plan for mom for breakfast, lunch, (dinner is easy bc it's exactly what we have) - breakfast is tricky bc I have to bring it over and make sure I feed her and I see her eat. I have to adjust my routine again to go around mom. I will have to "think, think, think" I kind of look like Winnie the Pooh today ;) :D -

. I should talk to member care taking and choose breakfast/or dinner but again we can't leave meds there.

I keep on feeling I have to up my game with faith, fitness especially, dh, home, mom etc. my garden especially has suffered for a month.

I have to start getting family on their Christmas wish list. I bought a movie for dh. I also have to order the gingerbread house cookie from a local artist baker /one for dd's/

Mom is here already with dd older - breath
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I like it, Nancy! I want my coffee cup to talk to me.

I haven't been able to hear myself think between dh, the tv, the dog, and dd. Dog is still barking sporadically for who knows what. I started to reboot laundry earlier and she, princess that she is, was eating and stopped and left immediately. So I need to leave her along long enough to eat breakfast, which incidentally was supper last night put away after she didn't eat it. Dd turned the tv down before she left so there's a little more quiet now.

I enjoyed the football game very much, RR! And you? LOL! I loved it, especially the last quarter.

Had a fellow researcher on FamilySearch send me a note last night night that he had attached a deed, and WOW. It goes back to Virginia and definitely links my William White to his wife. I've seen family trees for 25 years saying that Mary H was his wife, but never found enough proof until now. And this does! so happy with this fine, and thankful someone else is on it too!

Oh, and Lucylee! Congrats on your beef quarter! LOL, you'll have a lot to deal with! Get that freezer ready!

DH and I took DGS18 out to eat brunch. DGS16 was still asleep when we left but he called me asking why he wasn't invited to go with us. As kindly as possible I explained that we did not invite anyone else because we wanted to spend some time with DGS18. We managed to spend 3 hours without distraction talking with DGS18 and enjoyed every moment. DGS18 isn't shy but he doesn't have DGS16 huge personality. Getting the teen cousins separated is the only way we can keep the focus on DGS18. I chuckled when we arrive home to find DGS16 was standing in the driveway waiting for us to get back. DD13 was happy and thankful that we brought multiple selection of foods home with us for the other teens to eat.

(((LucyLee))) another difficult moment in this first year. My heart goes out to you as you get through each of them. Congrats on winning the beef! I instantly thought about how many ball games you attend with your DGS playing. If his team has a concession stand for his games, then maybe donate some of the beef to the concession stand so they can cook it to serve at games turning it into a money maker for the team. Whatever you decide to do with the beef I hope you enjoy the experience of being a WINNER!

Did on line church very early this morning.

LuckL A 6 months celebrating with a wagon load of beef wins!!!

Went back to bed for an hr. my 8 a m Rx reminder woke me
I felt great!
Sat for a couple hours in the quiet on the couch It was needed.
Thinking I've given up all groups meetings clubs etc. except church one in person time a mo. and weekly shopping.
and still cannot get caught up with stuff. Sigh but I am happy so that is worth more than gold
meetings or what ever else it is that I used to do.

I am done folding & put away last load of laundry.
Did my other journaling.

I just popped a Marie calendar's pot pie in the oven for meals later on.
