I like to have a flavoring in my water to encourage me to drink more.
Bw2 I am concerned for you to have to care for your dh AND your mother may not be healthy for you.

I have done some plying of my hand spun single ply wool yarn. One color group done yea!
I have more of the blue I'll need to use my spinning wheel for.

The sun is out and I"m SO glad that it is not foggy today.
Fetched the mail... waiting for it to warm up before we take a nap.

Walked
Had lunch

Watching Sewing with Nancy rerun she's quilting.
I am better she passed soon after LH and I could not watch her for a while.
the quilting show before this had an interesting add for a cordless iron what a concept!
It is inspiring to see the way they do quilt blocks and a clapper for pressing have not used on of those.
I'm a lefty and rotary cutter did not work for me.
What are tips for ordering fabric on line / stick with known brands for example...
I saw Joann's had fabrics in smaller amounts in cellophane type bags I would be reluctant to get one b/c I like to feel the heaviness of it.

d Nancy - thank you so much!!! I have been thinking the same thing - it's been weighing heavily on my mind. I also wonder if anything happened to me; then where would mom be if she had been living with me.She would have to go back to the place. lots to think about. :D

I also have to get her active in the building. I think even if she doesn't like it at first that she may be more in tune with staying there. I want to join the local exercise park district class etc. She will not be happy coming with me for that.

yay on spinning - how fun
I forgot about sewing with Nancy!!!
so glad that you have a lovely day outside.
I have to admit I haven't ordered fabrics on line. I am not pleased with the local big box fabric stores any more - I remember when they used to have better fabric.
I love my local quilting shop.
hope you find something you love.

I have decided to let my creativity lead me today. I have lots of work outside but I want to have fun this afternoon with the work I am doing. I can do both.

2:23 dd younger took care of mom - and went to barnes and nobles .

Is this grief or just plan laziness?
I am still sitting in bed at 2:30 pm.
I am not consumed with sad thoughts of dh and I’m not crying. I just don’t want to get out of bed and shower, wash my hair.
How do I know the difference between allowing myself to experience grief and just being a lazy slob?
Tomorrow is another day.

I have heard of the fog of grief or other things might be that Lucy L.
Some times we just need time to regroup.
You have had a lot going on!

I also was thinking of things when LH retired I had to ask him for time in the cave for him to go to the basement
to give me a break from the very loud TV.
It is also good to have some boundaries on expectations like going out to eat with or with out friends & having folks over.
LIke every other Fri. or Tues. & Thurs. or 24 hrs. notice.
That was some of the things we had growing up. More like once a month and rotated to other people houses for meals with friends.
My mom said if they were going to have Bible study there and she was working full time
after I had moved out, that he was going to have to help - no clue as what that involved so she said you could at least do
the vacuuming.

Neither of us were blessed with the gift of hospitality and I'd get so stressed out
he would decline invites I was very happy with that.

Dd picked up the two shelves to her book case I found when I was cleaning the closet this week. Yes!
I rolled up the 2nd hose.
Walked to both corners and picked up after the ddoggo & got my steps in for the day yea!
Rolls are done I baked just three today.

You definitely are not a lazy slob - not at all d Lucy!!! I agree with d Nancy! She is very wise!

if you find you can't get out of bed on a continual basis then it's time to see a therapist. My mom went on a low dose depression med after my dad died - She was on it for about three months. you have grief and depression.

I highly recommend a therapist - a good one- meds or not- to help you with your grief and depression.

please don't be so hard on yourself! Give yourself grace!

Yes to this Nancy! We had four guests for dinner on Friday night and then another couple last night. That is too much for me. OTOH, I got to use leftovers from Friday but it would have been better to freeze and give me some breathing room.

I've been in a genealogy haze lately.

Tomorrow a.m. I have a 9 a.m. fasting dr appointment. Also will need to have house ready for dcleaning lady and I'll need to walk the dog.

On Saturday, we have a bat mitzvah, an afternoon Broadway traveling company show, and then Saturday night dinner with group of four friends. I'll need to make a dip to take, and I'll probably skip the bat mitzvah because I can only do so much! Dh needs to be there. So tomorrow need to be sure I get ingredients for the dip.

Hi.
Coming up to the surface again after a long medical-stuff day.

I don't believe "lazy" happens as often as conventional wisdom assumes. I think that sometimes, what we label "lazy" is actually a complicated mix of daydreaming, planning, realization that it's time for 52-card pick-up in one's life, and maybe even a suspicion that the work we've set before ourselves isn't the right thing to do at the moment. It's been my observation that sometimes a person is just contemplative or self-protective and it's not bad, it's honest.

I definitely remember the Sewing with Nancy program.

Nancy, it might be worth it to reconsider the rotary cutter and mat, ruler. Maybe there are yt tutorials for left-handed users. The time savings is pretty helpful. You can make mistakes, of course, such as a slip of the ruler, and that's frustrating. You certainly don't have to use them. About buying fabrics lately online. Seems like all have gone over to designers or "lines". On ebay you can sometimes find fabric that is someone's stash getting sold that may be a few years old but of good brand names and reasonably priced. Etsy has nice new stock at better prices from sellers at home who don't have brick-and-mortar buildings to pay rent on. I bought the fabric for dd26's wedding quilt on Etsy except for the backing. The couple wanted the backing to be a certain color, and it was hard to find something so instead of going with a good known brand I bought just for color. When it arrived, I was disappointed a little - not a nice "drape" to it. But it was still okay.

Neither of us were blessed with the gift of hospitality

Not me or my Mom, either. My mother used to say, "we just weren't called", as if it were a ministry gift and not having it was nothing to be concerned about at all - others were good at it. So, society was fine with us - we just weren't called.

Just for fun Harriet take the rotary cutter and try to use it with your left hand!
Unless they make ones that are opposite I will pass, besides I like to cut!

I have been spinning with my spinning wheel!
Got a large bobbin full and a bag of others that were on the drop spindle.
It will still take me a while to play this up but I found a series on the Flix streaming place so
I'm doubly happy!

Did up the dishes and ddoggo came and got me to get her dinner for her.
[No food is allowed downstairs here.]

Okay I want to finish up the last of this show and spin some more of the mulit colors I have in singles.
Got invited to a bar on Wed. before turkey day dson by s/o who works there, I need wisdom
as to what to say bars are not really my scene they are having a band I think or dj.
The thing is at 8 my bed time is 9  plus I do not really like to drive at nite.
