Conga Line Friday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

In and out of line, weaving through the house, making it all happen! It's conga line day, do you hear the music starting?

I've got to conga myself over to the doc at 9 a.m. so before then, must get house ready for dcleaning lady and give dog a little walk. I've been sitting at the computer too long so here goes.... Perhaps I'll need to skip the shower. I don't need breakfast though. BTW, it feels like Yom Kippur here when I'm fasting. Black coffee is yuck!

Black coffee is yuck!
LOL! This made me smile. I feel strongly about my coffee too! I look forward to a cup of black coffee made with my favorite grind. The only time I put creamer and other things in my coffee is when i am having to cover the taste of coffee brand I don't like their flavor. Coffee drinks are a highly personal decision with what feels like a million options. And tea drinks are the same with what seems like unlimited options.

Drought and hot wind are not a good combination. Our local army training land, national wildlife refuge and surrounding privately own land are on fire. There are minimum roads in these areas so the many local fire departments (many volunteers) are limited on how they can respond to fire in the rough & mountainous terrain. They have brought in out-of-state fire fighters including aircraft to scoop water from the lakes and dump it on the fire. Several of our local restaurants have closed to the public so they can cook to feed the many fire fighters. They are hopeful for a wind shift today to push the fire back toward the already burned thousands of acres.

We have no school and nothing on the calendar today. #Nice

I got up at 5 ish and did qt and 1/2 of my journals first today.
Then stripped the bed and got the sheets going.
Turned on bbc news so nice to not have as much us politics on it!
Caught up on the spinning goal for this morning and have filled a bobbin and got that played wool
wound off into a ball.

The sheets are now in the dryer.
Brought up food for my meals today got those out of the freeaer.
Did all that while it was not lite out yet.

I did watch Weather Nation that is what this new tv has as a free option I rather like it with out as much hype
than The Weather Channel had on it.

Now I'm back upstairs and typing in my butterfly room gazing out the window as I do this post looking at the lovely pink sunrise.
My ballot is ready to take out of here to the mail box or put in the drop box. Decisions decisions...

It's so nice to get up to clean counters glad I put the dishes away last evening! YEA for the win!

I need to have bfast & Rx s2s ...walk ddoggo later on after it warms up looks
it frosty outside here at the moment.
Looking forward to afternoon reward of movie time and more spinning.

Back from doc office. I took coffee with me with my usual milk added. I use a little bit of a no sugar dairy creamer too, that is flavored. Good discussion with doc.

More later....

My creative side showed up in the kitchen. I was craving my favorite soup but I after having to only eat soft & liquid food for a month, I didn't want anymore. So....I started with ingredients that I was craving the most and created a dish using them. I sauteed them in a cast iron skillet. I got it too spicy so was considering my options when my eyes landed on a jar of raisins. Without giving it much thought other than raisins are sweet and would counteract the spicy flavors. I love to be creative in the kitchen and to cook without a recipe but as I was adding raisins to the dish I wondered if this might be over the line weird. However, the end result is amazing!

While I was cooking that dish for me, I also had a pan of cornbread baking for DH. He is fun to cook for because he is so grateful and gives plenty of thanks.

yes black coffee is yuck to me as well. I grew up with French family where we always had milk with our coffee - sometimes more milk than coffee :D

Drought and winds do not help anything.

I couldn't finish before - sorry I couldn't respond to everyone

- dd younger got mom - I have been able to keep mom busy most of the day -
--she was able to work on my wool appliqué project by ironing all the pieces on - I realized she can't do embroidery anymore - but she did great with the ironing with fusible webbing - really great!!! but I will try to get the stitches done and she can iron on the back, maybe then, she can help with a blanket stitch or more likely an overcast stitch.. (I will not push it) What ever she does will be perfect.
- she took a break and is watching one murder she wrote.

- I made a fruit salad
- moved the project into the family room.
- I haven't gotten outside

d Nancy! Yay on doing your sheets and yay on getting errands done.
mail - check offed - yay for you
what a great idea of having a personal growth notebook - what a great idea!!!
yay on finishing project

hello d lady, how nice to use your creative side in the kitchen!!! I am sure the raisins added a nice sweet gentle balance to your dish!
Your dh knows what a good cook you are!!! I am so sorry that you are has been getting fires! praying the winds stall and rain follows.
