Harriet… labeling might help if Sweetie could remember what the utensils are called and are used for :D:

The utensils holder that I use hold forks, knives, and spoons. However he can’t figure out the difference between and regular and a dessert fork. Same with table spoon, regular spoons and ice tea ones. As long as they all end up in the same drawer I’m good to go, but cooking utensils are a pure mystery to him so he just puts them in where the rest of the silver ware goes. I have a utensil jar next to my stove where I just put things in, but he can’t figure that out.

Recently I figured out he was not changing his under ware…that was easy cause I only found two t-shirts and 4 pair of under ware when I was folding my laundry for the week. Didn’t dawn on my when I put them in the washer and the load seemed kind of small. Yup, I was right. Told him he couldn’t be doing that any more. Good thing I can laugh. Sometimes it’s like having a child in an adult form. Thankfully I had practice for 25 years teaching kids with disabilities.

All that stuff really doesn’t bother me, it’s when he get frustrated at something and turns it back on me. I’m very reactive about that because I spent 20 years with a man who criticized me, so it can really trigger my responses. When Sweetie first started becoming angry towards me, because in all our years together he never had been that way, I recognized it as part of the disease. I spoke to his dr about it and now Sweetie takes meds that help.

I have several friends who have dealt with parents and spouses who become very angry and aggressive in the latter time with Alzheimer’s and as some of you may already know it ain’t for the faint of hearts. This is the only part of the journey I dread, and am hoping Sweetie can skip that.

I'm not having such a great afternoon. I purchased dies which cut out candles and the candle flames, but they're so little and fiddly to work with and hard to get lined up parallel to each other. I don't know if I liked the next try with new stamps. And ddog is driving me to distraction fussing (barking and complaining) wanting me to go downstairs. I just had lunch and couldn't open either new jar of pickles or a new jar of jam and now wrist aches from trying to open. So I'm whinny now and might even nap with the dog, just to shut her up.

Bw2, so glad dh doesn't have pneumonia and was sent home for recovery. I hope he's improving today.

So very sorry for bs crash today Nancy. You don't wake up at night with the extremely low bs anymore, right? Does ddog alert you?

Good idea on refrigerator storage, LadyM. Getting plates, etc. back downstairs was always an issue with my dkids.

Harriet, how is it we can stay a couple of weeks ahead on our vitamins and other meds, yet men just run out and are surprised?

I think I'll nap a bit. Might improve my mood.

mom was happy - her kitchen was shining!!!
she didn't eat breakfast on her own even if I told her what she could have/what she had- I didn't have keys (dh had them) but once I got the keys I went over there to give her lunch and meds. She wants to stay home. I know I will have to go over there later. I wish she would get involved with the building activities but she is just happy with us. I have to figure that out.

I bought a pill dispenser - I am going to try it as soon as it comes. It closes after 30 minutes.

Good thing: she forgot to be angry with me and feeling happy again. (the nurse thing really upset her for the whole day but didn't know why she was upset later on).
She even thanked me for bringing her lunch. All good! She was happy that dh was home!

dh is pushing off his care again - he wants to do it himself but not doing it. I have to take over if he doesn't take care of himself. That won't be pretty.

cleaned and filled the bird feeders, rinsed out one bird bath and refilled, emptied all the new seed, that I had in the car, into the containers.

waving to you all.

d Nancy so sorry you had a bs crash!!! hope you are feeling better now!

d twins I am so sorry you are having a rough afternoon - I am sending you a new positive afternoon!!!! sending you a reset after your nap!

hello d rose
You do have a kind happy soul! Sometimes it's hard to know when things click or not.
mom is great and then things are put in odd areas or she brings out stuff home in her bag.
its good that Both of your have a good sense of humor.
I understand the trigger response. It's hard.

praying your dh does not go through that part. My grandparents, dh's aunt didn't go through the mean times. Only one friend of mine had their parent go through that - it started early. praying.

I always said, like you, it's good that we have been able to laugh and enjoy our loved ones with Dementia and Alzheimers. the only time it's frustrating for me is when mom says really mean things. I understand the frustration that they have and most time I can be empathic and kind. There are so many things that are endearing, or we can smile. She takes on other peoples experiences quit a lot now.She still says she broke an artery in there throat - that happened to dd older a week after her tonsils being removed. mom believes she did.

I hurt for them when they are sad or worried.

hi d lady I would assume that with your heat in the summer that your last frost would be earlier. I have been thinking the same thing about the changing of the seasons bc of the weather. We too have had a late fall - we have had snow on halloween and before but not this year. it's been weird.

what a smart way to put food in the fridge!!!

hello d harriet!
I think you are right - someone could make money on that. I use a label maker.
thank you re dh!
lol on your dh waiting on telling you about the vitamins. dh does the same.
I too don't like sweet smoothies - have you tried freeze dried fruit. I let it sit in a bit of water or in the yogurt. I buy it for the winter.

I am a little drained by events but will put a sign up to have a happy new attitude. I am finally feeling a bit relaxed.

Bw2 to ans. your q.
Yes it was in the nite, no ddoggo slept through it on the couch. Hot flast city super moon, bs was to high yesterday afternoon so I only had fish
portions for dinner no bun and no snack. It was not that low 79# but my body tells me and I"m a light sleeper. I was upset bc I had to
take of my brand new pj ! LOL! Had a snack by the bed so yep I ate it in bed.
Got up and had hot cocoa and pb chaser. Coffee with creamer.

Hydrating...now.

For lunch
bacon & egg.

For later dinner :
Made gravy from scratch it's so-o bland but hoping when the sausage thaws will help it if not I'll have to add brown mix to it.

Ddoggo is happy protecting me from squirrels!

I am happy to say I have two or diff. ways to do the tee in to mkt. bags, the last one had a curved bottom. The first one had pleats mitered
corners I am not sure of the correct term. Found one more to do that too not sure but will prob. do another curved one those are easier.

I have more shirts that button down not sure what to do with them tons on fb but take more time than I am wanting to spend.
Sheets are clean and back on the bed pj's are too.

Twins' Mom I have an idea re: those candle dies. Put them upside down so they are facing you. Get a Sharpie marker and make a mark on both dies where they line up. If they are black you might have to do the line up mark with liquid paper stuff, Just something that popped into my mind when I read about you having this issue. I don't really know if it will work because I'm not sure what they look like.

I am baking a turkey thigh with a sweet potato and some carrots.

hi d cathy.
------------------------------------
dh has done nothing re: his self care.
the outside of his trac looks bad and he is convinced that he can do it. - he could if he looked in a mirror and actually do it.
he is supposed to use saline about 5 times a day. - I think he did once. He won't let me help with his trac. I am truly disappointed that he won't change.
I have to say his stubbornness is making me disheartened.

now time for finding fake garland and lights.

dh did his own draining and cleaned the outside of his trac. - many frustrations for me during the day but he finally did it. He doesn't want help which can be understandable but what we had to go through for him to care for himself.
--------------------------------------
going through lights to see what works. getting ready for front window lights.

---------
7:42 pm
dd older is going to take meds to mom - yay
- I can hear dh's trac having problems with congestion but he keeps telling me he is fine.
did more Christmas light work
----------------------

sweet dreams all
