Dh will be watching the Bills game vs. KC. His favourite American team is the Bills. Lots of discussion around this game because a certain singer has 6 concerts in Toronto and her boyfriend is playing in a football game in Buffalo. The local news station thinks they should stay in Niagara Falls for a night or two.
Dh is also watching the Grey Cup because his 2 favourite Canadian teams are competing against each other. I offered to make chili because it's a football type of supper. He declined. I will be making tacos instead.
I did almost nothing yesterday. Today is the "busy" day on my self-imposed 2 day schedule of housework/cleaning. I didn't even do laundry yesterday. I mostly laid in bed trying to read.

Re: Grey Cup Sunday 2024!
I am glad you took time for you yesterday d cathy!!!
thank you d cathy for starting us today.
football: I am the only one who will have the game on Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears. If I can get it. Sometimes I can't see it. I grew up around football with d dad and outside adventures.
thank you d Lucy! how nice that your dgs spent the night!
. I have grown to love Sundays! No longer do I see it as a get ready for Monday day. Right now I feel calm and hopeful! I see it as a day for faith, family, and peace.
Last night I pulled all the holiday lights and checked them. I also put the sticky stuff on the command light clips. I still have to wash the windows and then put the clips on the window to set. Who have those vinyl windows and I wish we had wood windows again - our old house has wood windows and they were so easy to hang lights.
today: step away from dh and watch from a distance (without a nag) re: his hopeful self care. Keep telling myself that I can do what I can do.
I wish you a happy day!
----------------------------------
this always made me smile:
"May those who love us, love us
And those who don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts
And if he can’t turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping!"
have a great day!!

Cathy ty for that great start today!
I check scores now instead of watching games collage team lost yesterday.
I woke up from rain on the roof & leaves falling ... at 3:00 was in a great mood!
It's windy now.
Bs was on target barely.
I did qt.
Went through the coats in the coat closet and a couple are now in the to donate pile.
I am pleased with that room I gained!
Decided I needed to have a lite in my cozy corner and a lamp needed to be moved to make room for creche"
so I moved the book case to a more accessible place and put the lamp on it and now I have a cozy corner!
Did a bit of journaling. Also have sorted a small stack of books to de-clutter one went in another room.
Glad for the space I've freed up in that book case yea! I am working on the Holiday 6 wks. to Cmas.
In my Dec. planner now. From Diane in Denmark that is a great way for my restart!
Bfast was great that I made up ahead yesterday.

Re: Grey Cup Sunday 2024!
We watched the TN vs GA game last night - disappointing but can't win them all obviously. Dh was very tired yesterday - he was asleep in his chair when I came downstairs and slept until I woke him up when the game started. He watched perhaps the first half then went back to sleep. While watching I did some clean up - because I was out of the house early yesterday I didn't do much in the a.m.
He's gone for a massage now. (Reminder to self: Text and make appointment for myself for this week.) This afternoon we are going to a concert fundraiser at the temple, this p.m. dh bowls, so I'll have stamping time perhaps.
I'm still eating the soup from Friday for my supper. Dh purchased some greasy ribs at Costco on Friday afternoon and has been eating them.
Today I need to ask him to open a couple of jar for me. I couldn't open two jars yesterday. My right hand grip is good but left not. I'm afraid I'm actually going backwards since I'm not working out? But the hand ached after trying yesterday. I hate it that I've ruined this hand and wrist.
Cathy, lines on the back won't help me line those little 1/4 inch wide candles. Even if I can line nine of them up at the bottom/top edge and make them parallel I still need to space them evenly across the front of a card, and then attach the little tiny flame to each. And cutting them, the die only cuts two flames or two candles, so I have to run it through the sizzix five times. I used the doubled sided adhesive on the flames - you adhere it before its die cut, then peel off the back to adhere to the card. But it's so tiny it's hard to keep up with nine of them, and then to peel that blasted adhesive off too. I do like the dies that say Hanukkah - there's one that is thin and loopy - the cursive writing - and I used adhesive on it too. Then the other is the larger outline for the thin cursive sentiment. Oy. The candles are just too fiddly, given the bit of arthritis in my hands and my lack of patience. Takes too much effort, at least for now. Perhaps I'll try just cutting the candles 1/4 inch wide w/o die, adhering decoratively but randomly, and adding the flames? (The die is this one, I didn't buy the stamps https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/products ... h4QAvD_BwE )

I was disappointed too, Twins. Dgs and I were hoping TN would win.
Dgd and I are going to a baby shower this afternoon. I am not excited about this but it will probably be good for me to go. Sigh.

Re: Grey Cup Sunday 2024!
Good Morning!
I am not a fan of football but will be cheering for your enjoyment in watching the games.
Jar opener. Sooooo worth it!
I never struggle with opening jars anymore.
DH and I went to church early this morning. DS16 is going to church service in about 30 minutes. DD13 doesn't want to go anywhere. I am not requiring her to attend church.
DH made omelets. yum!

She and dh do give me a run for my money

The one stair going up the stairs is done. stockings hung - it feels like it's Christmas in July.

Re: Grey Cup Sunday 2024!
Hi!
I went grocery shopping this morning. When I came home dh changed my tires and my oil! While I was gone he did his own oil change on the F150.
I got some beef stewing meat, so this afternoon I am making beef stew for tomorrow. Tonight we are having tacos. I also bought some pork chops. Three of them went into the freezer and we are having the 4th one on Tuesday. The beef stew is all done, It just needs to simmer for a while more.
Taking a bit of a break before I start chopping the veggies for the tacos. (Onions, green peppers, tomatoes) I also have to shred the cheese.
There is a load of laundry in the washing machine. I also took out garbage from bathroom and kitchen.
I'm being so productive today versus yesterday.

Re: Grey Cup Sunday 2024!
Hey, all!
Thanks, Cathy, for mentioning the Grey Cup! DH was able to contact his youngest brother to see who he was rooting for or at least thought would win (DBIL's a Ti-Cats fan), so they had a nice little chat. We had attempted a Zoom call, but no one else showed up. I think these things may have died. Since Covid, DH's family had a Zoom call scheduled for 2:30 Sunday afternoon (or 7:30 Sunday evening for his middle brother in London). But I think DH's aunt was the glue holding it together -- when it got to where she could no longer figure out how to get online, one of DH's cousins, who was taking care of her, would come on some weeks and give updates. But many weeks, it's just been DH and Dmiddle BIL.
I have been sitting still for a bit today. We got back from church, and I took my BP, and it was on the low side, and I'd gotten a little light-headed a couple times during church, so I just sat in my chair, and DH brought me some Breakfast tea for the sake of the caffeine. And as long as I was sitting down, he figured we could play a game. So we played Ticket to Ride, and he beat me handily. He's baking oatmeal cookies now; other folks have been bringing goodies to work, so he figures it's his turn. Of course, we get some, too.
I should work on some of the paperwork needed for my doctors' visits this week. I think there's something like 12 pages.
Have a lovely afternoon/evening!
