Mystery, you do know that my dh had gastric bypass about 15 years ago? Feel free to message me if there's anything I can help with. He gained about half his weight back, before becoming diabetic. He's now only about 35 lbs off his lowest weight. He was nearly 380 at one point.

The concert was lovely and reception as well. One of our members also "caters" for free this kind of reception but it's always a lot of gluten free and vegan stuff that no one really likes. This was lovely - actually the woman who catered the Jewish fundraiser last night (we didn't go.) And it was yummy! And so many people there that I like and haven't seen in a while.

I walked straight through the house when we got home and took the dog out for her walk. Dh changed his shirt and headed to bowling.

Good gracious, I am glad to be home!
I taught supervised ddil's class while DGS led the lesson... then church (sermon was on worry, "Do Not Be Anxious." Perfect topic for me, but I had trouble staying awake.
Went to lunch at Mexican restaurant where I thought they had a buffet. Should have left when we found out the didn't. Let the man talk dgd into a cheesy chicken and rice thing, when she only wanted rice and beans. Let DGS order a WHOLE tilapia -- yes, with the eye looking out at us -- but thank goodness he loved that and BTW, he has already finished off the chicken & rice that dgd didn't eat. I got a taco salad which had nothing but lettuce and cheesy meat. Needless to say, I was pretty aggravated at the whole place, and it cost over $46 plus the tip.
Home long enough for dgs to change clothes, then took him home, and dgd and I went to the baby shower, where I only knew a very few people, and was really just peopled out after the 90 minutes we stayed there. We left as soon as a few others did, but we did get to see the girl open our gift. She had a table full of gifts still remaining and I do believe I might have lost my mind if we'd stayed to see her open every one of those gifts.
In case y'all missed the explanation, the mother of the baby is a former student, her mom a former co-worker, and her dad played football for dh. I am thankful they think enough of me to want to stay in touch, but I had a headache and I was tired and I just wanted to be home.
I think I'm going to stay home and eat chicken noodle soup for supper and wrap up in my grandmother's quilt.

Also... the new shoes I bought do not fit and I am going to have to go to Next Town, return them, and try to find something that fits. My black shoes are scuffed, and the sole is separating. I literally glued it back together this morning. Sheesh.

Oh (((Mystery))) -- 12 pages of paperwork for the doctor! Yuck. But with your BP doing like this, it is good you are going. Hope you feel better soon.

I need to go BACK to the road and put some more garbage in. I guess I need the extra steps anyway. I forgot about the chicken fingers that have been in the refrigerator since Wednesday. And some watermelon that is probably past it's "best by" date. It seems like I throw out so much food. I think I want fruit, but I never eat it in time.

Speaking of football, I went to sleep during our game yesterday, but thank goodness we finally won. This season has done nothing to make me regret the fact that I have not been taking these dgrands to College Town every weekend. It's very frustrating. Dbil's children don't want or can't use his extra two tickets to the end of season rivalry game with that Other Team in our state. He wanted to know if DS might want them. Ha! I haven't asked D's, but I am pretty sure he is not going to want to pay the unreasonably expensive cost for those tickets. The Other Team isn't having a great season, but they are 99% likely to beat us.

Hope y'all have a good night and the week ahead is great!
Tomorrow is another day.

I should never criticize anyone else's routines or lack thereof.
There are still dishes in my sink from Tuesday... and some kids toys in the floor of the den... and I haven't touched the kids' bedroom in two weeks at least. The only difference here is probably the fact that I am naturally tidy with my stuff, I keep up with laundry, and there's only one of my! If FOUR naturally messy people lived here, there's no telling what this house would look like.

I took a 2 hour nap this evening, and since then, I have been sitting here on this couch, just scrolling on the internet. One productive thing -- I did think of a possible Christmas gift idea for dgs... maybe a subscription to National Geographic? He really doesn't look at books all that much anymore, but he does watch a lot of informational, educational things on YouTube, and I'm thinking the photography in NG might be enough to catch his eye? I don't know -- again, I also need to consider the need for non-clutter gifts. I hope DS will call me tonight and I can run this idea by him.

My big plan was to get teddy bears made from two of dh's shirts for each of the grands. I wanted to use the plaid college logo shirts. Then when I asked DS about whether or not he wanted to take any of dh's shirts, he said yes -- he wanted some of those plaid ones. Dang. Of course he has not taken any so far, and again... they do NOT need anymore STUFF in their house. But I wish he would pick out some that he wants and let me know what to do with the others. I guess maybe that will be a gift idea for next year.
I should look at Pintrest for some ideas of smaller memorial type things I could do this year, Christmas ornaments maybe.

At least I'm thinking. I have been just locked in limbo on Christmas this year. I don't really understand why, except that when dh was alive I could at least bounce ideas off him. Now I'm totally on my own, and I'm just completely at loss for most of the people on my list. Particularly DS, dbil, and nephew. Sigh.
Tomorrow is another day.
