Another week beginning. Only forty-three days remain in the 2024 year. What are your plans and thoughts for the rest of the year? For 2025? Are you planning? I'm kind of functioning day to day, short-term, just getting through.
Let's talk!

Re: Monday PWYC
I love a good talk! Good morning d twins! thank you for starting us today!!! I wish you and everyone a wonderful day.
I will be making plans come January 2nd after (hopefully
) that all calms down here.
I usually start my decluttering and home repair/decorating in January. Garden planning/dreaming seems to have become an all year joy - lol I just need money

Re: Monday PWYC
Good morning - Happy beginning of the week.
today's hope: work on outdoor and window Christmas lights.
trying to stay on track with mom. I ordered the new medicine tray - keeping my fingers crossed.
work on a plan on how to work with dh, dmom and focus on physical health for me. - trying to figure out a flexible schedule while getting ready for the holidays.
Monday is usually
whites,
laundry room : clean the floor, put away, clean the outside of the washer and dryer,
kitchen
mouse people coming for first time in 10 years - I am worried our animals and the outside hawks, coyotes, occasional owls if they try to eat one of the mice- but I have to get control before it becomes really bad. This year has been a struggle already which will not be good for the rest of the winter. I dislike doing it this way but I have to do something.

Re: Monday PWYC
Good morning gals!
I saw 4 deer on our walk yesterday ddoggo alerted me to them.
This morning I heard a hoot owl when I went out to see the full moon & stars when ddoggo went out first thing today.
While I was doing my QT heard a raven calling outside!
Had Rx & coffee is all I've done grateful to sleep in till 5:30 this morning under the blanket I made yesterday!
It's 45" wide like a twin size but great for a chair or couch warm up and get cozy.
Okay I need to do the walk about in the basement now.
Have a great day all!

Good Morning!
Twins - Thanks for getting us started today.
DS16 isn't working today because of the weather. I took DD13 to school during a lull in the downpour. We have a powerful storm passing through. They told us to expect tornadoes, 60-80mph winds and flooding. Thankfully the storm has been less violent than predicted. But even a gully washer of a storm prevents outside work. Hum...I just realized DS16 could have made a call and joined the renovation crew working inside today. I am glad he didn't and is choosing to take a day off.
I have been walking in the garden between rain drops. I am laughing at myself in my unorthodox way of filling the holes between blocks in the garden. I have never seen anyone use tea bags to keep the pea gravel inside the block slots. I realize that statement makes no sense. It was one of those "you had to be there" moments of life. It just happened. It worked. So I continue doing it.
We are having a private lesson with the instructor an hour before dance class starts today. We are most likely his biggest challenge. I don't know his life story, but I do know he was a choreographer. His goal is for every body movement and step to be perfect. I also know he has an abundance of patience.

Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Re: Monday PWYC
Somehow we had a squirrel invade our the back porch - not screened area. Ddog was going crazy. I think she chased sq beyond the invisible fence, but came back when I was chasing her (chasing the sq.) I think it went up a small Japanese maple by the neighbors porch. I know all the neighbors heard me yelling at her to go in the house, and she was evading me. So much for obedience, she has a mind of her own sometimes. She was just doing what dogs do and I know she didn't understand me yelling at her.
I'll go out and reassure her in a couple of minutes.
Dh prep starts at 6 tonight. I'm not cooking supper but mentioned to him that some of the leftover soup might be a good snack before he starts purging. Somehow it seems silly to eat something that just has to move right through.
I need to go out to Michaels to pick up some of my tombow glue. I didn't realize I was about to run out until it started getting hard to squeeze out last night. I store it upside down so it's usually ready to go.
LadyM, I'm surprised we have rain coming in overnight. We're seeing a closer to normal weather pattern, still not a lot of rain but we did have a rain day last week too. I'm glad ds is taking a day off, although I'm sure he'll find something to do inside or in garage.
Mice! bw2, don't your dogs deter such little fiends? Perhaps you need a cat to join your menagerie? We never had mice as long as we had a dog or cat. Knowing ddog, I think she would be beside herself, ,she has a prey drive. I like it when she goes through the garage now and then sniffing. It's good to have her scent in the air and let her check things out.
Nancy, I've not seen our deer in a while. There is a large construction project on undeveloped land between us and river. I'm thinking that is sending them back into neighborhoods. I wish I could see stars better here, too much ambient light. Ravens, owls? We have crows, ugly turkey vultures and hawks. And squirrels as mentioned above. And chipmunks from bird feeders. (in all fairness, we sometimes see a fox or coyote, racoons, groundhogs. Who knows what else is out there if we pay attention?)
I started the Roomba. I think I last started it last Wednesday perhaps, and it whined that the bin needed to be emptied so it aborted the job. It's always something. It says I need to replace the filter too, but the visual shows 13 more hours. If it gets through this run, I'll consider replacement.

Re: Monday PWYC
busy morning already
drove to mom's, meds given, breakfast given, she was very pleasant and said she would like to help me today - expecting it will change but it was nice going over there.
told dh about the mice people - he called dd and said that I didn't tell him anything and that I told her. dd mentioned that I need to be here from now on. I got to meet the young man - very nice! found out our attic above the cars has been where the mice have been living.
set a date in January to seal the house again.
ready to start again.
-------------------
hello d twins squirrels!!! (((thinking of your dh))) we also have turkey vultures and hawks, crows no ravens any more, we have lots of coyote bc of the den near us. They cull the deer out of our area now. makes me sad that they do this now every year.
We used to have a great mouser -a barn kitty- he died at 22 but he was fantastic! we never had problems with mice with him. - this cat - God bless her - is 14 and catches a mouse or two but the mice aren't frightened by her. our dogs have killed mice outside. The mice are in areas the dogs can't get to. through piping system, basement crawl and attic above the garage. they love the rafters.
I too love it when one of our dogs goes sniffing - only problem is the mice tend to run towards me lol
no more squirrels allowed! hope it doesnt' come back.
-------------------
praying that your weather isn't a problem!!! keeping you safe in prayers!
d lady - ? teabags? I love those had to be there moments!
hope you enjoy your lesson today with instructor

I'm excited that I was able to view the vid. on holiday prep. while I still had the planner out and take some notes.

Trash is out yea.
Got some areas dusted and a few of the decor items are ready to go up.

Re: Monday PWYC
what holiday video were you watching d Nancy?
------------
I went back to mom's as she didn't answer her phone - she undid it trying to "fix" it. it's okay - she is here now.
we are making onion pie for dinner later. It's Alsatian.
I want to make the soup
