Fine-tuned Friday PWYC
A day to tune up and wrap up the week. What fine-tuning are you doing as we head into the holiday season? Schedule, expectations, routines? Only thirty-nine days remain in 2024. What needs to be crammed in and what can be eliminated?
Do tell!
Do tell!

Re: Fine-tuned Friday PWYC
Posted in J & C. I feel downright depressed. Next week is Thanksgiving, then trip to NYC that I don't feel up for. Last year when we went, dd was so unhappy with her job, and I ended up weeping the entire time we were on the train going back to the city. I don't feel very festive. And looking forward to more surgery when the wrist already seems to achy so much. I know this is minor compared to the others, but I'm just tired. The meds I was going to take are back ordered indefinitely too. Would be nice to feel like I'm doing something there. And I'm not working out - they close next week, and have been closing two days a week so I cancelled the month of November. I felt really fat when I got ready to go out to dinner.
My massage was good - except he suggested the pain in my back was a slipping rib or popped rib. It might be a little better, I'm not sure. And I took in phone because dd was supposed to call. Dh called once and I had to tell him I'd call him back, then dd called and I told her I'd call back when I got to the car. So more phone calls, finally got off the phone, took a quick shower and we headed out to dinner. Even dh said that this woman can talk. I couldn't get in a word edgewise, if we're with a couple I like to talk to both, not just the woman. The good news is that she's a pharmacist and they own an independent pharmacy and perhaps she can get me my prescription. But....she also said whether she does so depends on what insurance reimburses her - if she can't at least break even, she can't do it.
I need to get busy straightening up for dcleaning lady. Almost forgot. I did get sheets off the bed and into washer earlier. Ddog is quite disgruntled, she only moved from place to place on the bed as I took sheets from under her. She made it very difficult.
My mood needs a tune up!

Good Morning!
((((Twins)))) BTDT. Keep talking. Keep pushing through. Keep trying. You are doing all the right things.
DS16 is out the door to work with kind words to each other.
The only thing on my must do for today is picking up a shirt I ordered from DFriend and taking DH to get haircut. I might decide to cut some more off my hair while there.
Plus the regular must do's. Keep the teens fed. Monitor DH to keep him safe.
We have bright sunshine this morning. The temps went down to 34F last night and on my morning walk I observed some of the low places had frost. I had covered up my greens, broccoli and cauliflower in the garden last night in case it got colder than expected. I took those covers off this morning.

Re: Fine-tuned Friday PWYC
I'm kind of tuned up. I did some pots and pans this morning AND I unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and turned it on.
It's overcast and raining again today. Dh just had a customer come in, so I should go say hi.

Re: Fine-tuned Friday PWYC
I don’t feel exactly “fine-tuned,” but I will work on it.
Called dermatologist office and yes, they are closed on Fridays. I will try again Monday. (Hoping I left purse calendar there. This is the first time in my life that I have lost a calendar like this and I have probably kept one since I was in high school!)
(((Twins))) (((BIG HUGS))) and prayers!
(((LadyM))) Praying for you too! I know you have a lot on your plate with concerns for LordM.
And you too, (((Cathy))). Praying your dh has a good day too, so you too can have a good day!
I’ve got to
— call drug store
— call dmom, possibly deliver meds to her
— s2s
— go to Wmart
— meet dfriend for lunch
— wash some dishes that have been sitting in the sink waaay too long!
— Dgd will spend the night

Re: Fine-tuned Friday PWYC
fine tune - thank you d twins!
(((d twins have you been able to make an appointment with your therapist to help lift your heart and mind?))) When our d children aren't happy it drains us, hurts our soul, especially when all we want is them to have direction, love, and a place where they are happy. what you are going through and how painful your wrist is- is not minor at all. I hope you get your prescription.
it's okay to have a good cry (it's good for the brain and body to release pressure) and know you can only do so much.
I am sorry you are going through this right now. praying

hi d cathy! I love your energy
HI d Lucy! hope you find your calendar.

Re: Fine-tuned Friday PWYC
dd younger is first taking a drive in the country and then will go to mom's for her meds and make sure she eats breakfast. Mom thinks she has a fever and wants an old fashioned thermometer. three to four times a week she doesn't feel good and then completely forgets. If I mention that I am glad she is feeling better she argues with me that she was feeling great in the morning.

Re: Fine-tuned Friday PWYC
Woke up to rain this morning as it was getting lite out.
It's a cozy day for writing cuddling with ddoggo.
We might do a worm walk with the umbrella later one.
I have had fun with my seasonal planning and some cards got a vid. of that!
Working on my plan for the day processing my week.
I am SO glad I did leaves yesterday of course there are more of them to do again but not right now anyway.
I realize the two people I had trouble with last week probably had stress from the season
and I cannot fix that for them.

Re: Fine-tuned Friday PWYC
Good morning! I'm nowhere near fine tuning -- I think maybe I am still looking for the station!
(((Twins))) I'm so sorry you're feeling bad. I take it your DD's troubles have not been resolved.
It sounds like you are pushing through just as you advised Twins, LadyM.
Cathy is cooking along, and lucylee has a busy day ahead. (I hope you find your calendar -- I have that kind of stuff in my phone, and I call it my "external brain" -- I would be horribly distressed if I lost it!)
blessed, I wish I had such eloquent words for Twins -- such good advice.
Writing and cuddling with the dog sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day, Nancy.
We ended up with about six inches of snow last night, which has melted down to 1 or 2. It was heavy, thick snow, which bent our back hedge into a V. It seems to be recovering, but the snow also brought down lines to our house last night. They did not seem to be electrical, and we never lost power, but I called the fire department this morning (everything online said to) and they came out to make sure it was safe. Seems to be phone and cable lines. They added the cable line to the list for the cable company (I guess since that goes by city) and told me to call the phone company. The phone company says they can send somebody out -- Tuesday.
I'm sure there are many people in the same boat, and the ones who don't have service should take priority, but still, Tuesday? They are blocking my back door. I can go out the front, but the steps are steeper and outside. I've slipped on them before, so they worry me. Need to leave for the surgeon appointment in less than an hour. I think I will have an early lunch.
