I FOUND MY CALENDAR!!! (The purse calendar, I think I told y'all it was lost and I was so upset.
Y'all will never guess where I found it -- the closet of my laundry room.

I have no idea whatsoever how it got in there.
I was in there today, looking for a half inch dowel, which I did not find -- and suddenly I realized I was looking down at my calendar. I am so relieved.
(I need the dowel to adjust the solar light that helps when I come in the carport after dark. It sits in the ground near my patio and back steps. Replacing this will definitely be easier than reconstructing 11 months of a calendar!)
I immediately wrote my name and phone number in the front, as DS had advised. LOL... DGS said, "But it won't help, because it was IN YOUR HOUSE!!!"
I do feel sorta silly, having called two places in Next Town looking for it when it was less than 10 feet away as I was talking...
I
am hosting Thanksgiving, and I have
not done anything useful in preparation for it. I plan for tomorrow to be an extremely productive day.
I am enjoying dgrands... they want to spend every night with me, and they are alternating nights. DGS is here tonight. I wouldn't mind a little more alone time, but I know the days are rapidly approaching when they will be too busy for their Nana.
JOY -- Dcousin has found Duncle a place in memory care that will provide physical therapy and much encouragement of interaction with others, about 30-45 minutes away from me (and her) but more like 20 minutes from her brothers and her mom, duncle's sister. She was able to move his bed and recliner and tv over there with him, and sent me a video tonight showing him and her mom sitting there in the room. He looked fine, content, and (apparently) he thinks he made the decision to try this! I told Dcousin, she is an ANGEL. I don't know how she managed this, but it certainly sounds like a miracle. She said the nurse she talked with told her not to act like this was a "nursing home" and he would never leave -- the nurse said "We never know, he could improve and be able to go home again." We all know that is very unlikely, but it is such a relief to have him satisfied to be in a place where he can get additional physical therapy and be around people. For the last 8 months, in the words of dcousin's husband, "He has just been sitting in his chair, waiting to die." I asked if he had the money to afford this place, and she said, yes, he did, and if it took everything he had, well, that was just fine. She and I agree, he has no children so all his assets would be divided either between his sister, his brother-in-law, and I guess my family, his brother's family. After those three siblings, he and daunt had 8 nieces and nephews, so realistically thinking, none of us were expecting a windfall from a rich uncle, you know? We would all prefer he be cared for than for us to get our 1/8 share of whatever he has left when he dies. I just hope he will remain content and maybe, dreaming big here, maybe make some friends here.
Dmom is on her 2nd day with new transdermal pain patch. She said she thinks it IS helping with pain, but it is making her nauseous. I am hoping that her body will adjust and she won't be nauseated forever with this. She has about passed her limit of options for pain relief.
Dbro & his wife should be here by now for Thanksgiving, and they are planning to leave on Friday.

He is truly not much help at all. He talks a good game, and I always feel better after talking to him, but when it comes right down to it, I'm pretty much on my own here. I just hope he realizes that dmom IS getting older and could use a little more time with him.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I saying special prayers for those of you who have mentioned particular needs and are dealing with health concerns and family concerns. We could probably all use a (((Group Hug))).

~~~ Weird question ~~~
Do any of you ever see these HORRIBLE pictures on FB of skin issues that say they are "sign of Chron's disease"? I mean, these pictures almost make me gag before I can scroll past -- they will look like huge whelps of something, or even resemble WORMS covering a person's back, or hairy bulging cysts... I mean they are HORRIBLE and disgusting -- and my mother has had Chron's and I have never, ever heard of her having any skin issues like this.
WHY do they put these things on and say they are symptoms of a disease that I am pretty sure they are NOT, and it is just revolting to even look at?
