Bw2 LOL my ddoggo is not coming with me as she likes to lick the meat when she walks by the table at a couple of diff. family winter gatherings I've caught her doing that, no one one else noticed! She is okay at the summer gatherings but there were 4-5 dogs there one year that was too many plus all the people!

I'm better have rested with classical music on after my s2slippers for now.
It's still frosty outside but it's sunny and melting in the sun.
-----
Walked ddoggo
swept leaves and picked up the ones piled up under the tree & are ready to go on Trash Dan now yea!
Unlocked the rig and took out some of the food.
Retaped pie boxes and they are ready to go.
Glad for the tote in the back forgot it was in there that will come in SO handy.
I need to put a diff. shirt or one on top of the tee shirt.

DgdC and her menfolk came to bring her too-cute Turkey Cookies (those large peanut-shaped cookies with eyes, chocolate-dipped pretzels for tailfeathers, and a melty Reeses Pieces orange beak). Her mother sent along double portions of the two casseroles she made for their trip to her brother's house. So, we have tucked all this into the fridge for supper.

I immediately took a photo of the Turkey Cookies and sent it with thanks to her ddil.

Meanwhile, dstepdil has hit oven snags (isn't that always the way!) so we're postponed an hour - no worries. She is apologizing like crazy, but it doesn't bother anyone. I hope she is not working herself to a tizzy. Everyone's easy to please and just happy to see them. Weather is pretty here.

Undoubtedly, dstepdil will send us home with food, and dd44 already brought things that were "new" but not going to last until their return Sunday evening. And this doesn't even take into consideration dd26's mother-in-law, who is the queen of sending leftovers or food presents, lol. We shall surely be stuffed.

Four hours after it started our Thanksgiving meal & gathering is over. I am pleased how well it went. The biggest blooper I made is forgetting the cranberry sauce. No one mentioned it so it isn't a big deal.

90% of everything is put away. The dishwasher is going. The rest will be dealt with after taking a break.

We are back home. When we left earlier to be at dcousins at 1 p.m. I forgot the bread so we made a trip back. Fortunately, weren't too far when dh asked me. Lovely meal, lovely group of cousins and I am exhausted by people and food. I could go to bed right now but still need to have dneighbors over for wine, if they still want to, and need to get packed. We'll need to leave here 5:15ish to be at airport as early as dh wants to be there. I showered before we went out today, not sure if I'll shower again in the a.m. or not. I told dh it's easier to remember to pack toiletries when I use them as I'm packing them up.

Ds was at dcousins and dd went to dh's cousins near NYC. She will see them again on Monday evening.

Home again and awaiting the newlyweds. It is almost dark now, so I don't see how they are going to really get anything done. Glad to see them, but we need them here in daylight, warmth.

Dstepdil sent us with so much food! She didn't tell us she was doing it, just handed us 2 handled bags as we were leaving! My fridge runneth over.

We did indeed watch the dog show, which was fun. Didn't agree with the judgements, lol, but we don't know what we're doing, of course.

Our little granddog was feeling unwell but sweet to everyone anyway. She is getting older.

, I just wore (am wearing) my same Halloween top of orange/yellow/green leaves print, and put a sensible long scarf with it instead of a silly hat! If I don't get some use out of it now in this particular season or celebration it will go back in the closet and not carry its weight!

So thankful to read about others experiences today.

I just finished watching Twisters movie. It was filmed near here and was shot from the viewpoint of storm chasers. It doesn't make me like the way they drive during storms, but it does give me some understanding of future good that could come out of their ways. The part I did not like about the movie was how they portrayed us that have lived through tornadoes all our life. The movie acted like most homes here don't have cellars or a safe place. I do realize it is a movie and filmed for entertainment so i am thinking too hard about the fake parts.

I relented on not letting DS16 drive and agreed to let him drive to eat Thanksgiving meal at his girlfriend grandmother's home. It is about an 80-mile drive. He was driving 70mph speed limit on a state highway when I deer came out of nowhere with no time to avoid hitting it. DS16 and girlfriend are safe and not hurt. He is driving a 25-year-old F350 club cab.... if you are not familiar with that model vehicle, it is a large heavy-duty vehicle. The deer put a dent in the bumper but otherwise the vehicle is fine.

Oh my goodness, LadyM! Stressful is the truth! So glad no one was hurt!

Glad you’ve all had a good day, it looks like. Am I talking like Yoda? Oh well. I am tired.
It was a good day here. I miss dh, but no tears since last night. Enjoyed our people, talked to daunt earlier today. Dgs is here tonight and still going strong. It’s after 11:00 pm. I’m about ready to go to bed and I had a nap a little while ago!
Tomorrow is another day.
