Monday Motivated by Check Ins

Post by Harriet »

LadyM said a few weeks ago,

"What a joy to come here and read C.I.s"

and so true! LadyM, what I can't wait for is reading your C.I.s!

We have not yet heard from anyone else having the same problem LadyM is having (which I would describe as losing the normal-looking page when you log in from "guest" to "member"), which keeps her from joining in. :( And which we firmly believe we CAN fix soon!

Mystery, can't tell you what a Great relief to see that you can both get here and sign in to post. All the advice I have for frequent requests to reidentify yourself is to check off "Remember Me" when signing in. Ramblin' does that and still has a problem for some reason. DeeClutter used to discuss this happening to her, but I don't remember whether this was particularly after a change to the boards. She would advise about composing, then copying, then trying to post, and if there was another ID request we'd have our saved post at our fingertips.

My Check In is all over the clock

1) Late last evening I decided floors were still on my mind and with equipment still out, I vacuumed and mopped the master bathroom. This was a different scent than the wood floor cleaner, and from a brand new package to open. Hmmm ... ... HRH asked was I trying to poison him with chemical warfare. Nothing on the package to suggest any changes made to it from many years of same brand.

2) In the middle of the night :| , I decided that "on my mind" thoughts were getting in my way so I did a Brain Dump onto a Things-to-do notepad and barely got it onto one page, sigh. But it IS on there!

3) This a.m. a dreaded phone call was accomplished to an insurance office.

Good morning to Harriet & all who stop by later :)

Hope the brain dump was helpful, Harriet, & hooray for getting a DPC out of the way so early in the day. Sorry HRH was bothered by the new scent of the cleaner; I'm sensitive to certain scents, too.

A few weeks ago I cleaned out a craft closet in the attic. When I was up there for Christmas decorations realized I never put it all back! Now that the house is decorated & I have a free morning I'm heading up there as soon as I finish this post. Remembered to turn the heat on earlier so I won't need to wear a coat & gloves. :)

Between yesterday & this AM I've visited this site without logging in, & also logged in several times. There are two bots that are never on the main page when I stop by, but one (& usually both) appear as soon as I log in. If I log out, they disappear. So somehow they seem to be linked to me logging in. I did a little search about bots, & they can either be useful or malicious. Since I don't know what kind Ahrefs bot & Semrush bot are, it makes me a little uneasy. Can anything be done about them?

Mom had a rough mental night. at 12:38 am she called me - and hung up - I tried calling back. dd younger took over and called her and watched her on the cameras until almost 3 in the morning. Dd had to call her a couple of times to tell her to go back to bed. Mom was so worried about packing for Florida.

1. worried about not being able to get to her meds in the box
-I found out the reason her med box wasn't working was that she took a battery out. this is supposed to be an item that is Alzheimer proof. I will write them to suggest that the batteries are locked into place as well. She was very confused because it didn't work bc the battery was gone.
fixed that

2. we have now lied to her and told her we are not going to Florida - she was completely relieved. They will go to Florida on Dec. 27 but will come back with her. dd living with her at night and coming in and out during the day seems to work for her in Florida but I think it's best to bring her back here or get a helper.

she did take her meds and I ordered food for her.

I am going to talk to my brother and girls - dh knows that I want her to sleep here from now on or have a helper in the wee hours to 10 am. and 7/8 pm to sleep.

I am no longer the Christmas Curmudgeon!

Hey, everybody!

Harriet, I click the "remember me" and sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Oh, well. At least I'm in now.

Dove, I hear Billie Burke as Glinda the Good saying, "Are you a good bot or a bad bot?"

I will have to join Harriet and blessed in a brain dump; my therapist asked me this morning what my priorities were for the week, and I really had no idea. I do know that once I'm done here, I will throw in a load of wash.

DH is home for the day, if you can call it home -- he drove DC to school and DD to the driver's license bureau to get fingerprinted, and I've asked him to go get me some distilled water for my CPAP. He has a game set up for when he returns. They are currently still at the BMV; I just got a text from DD asking which category she falls into on the form.

Well, I'm going to go throw in that wash; then I'll make a warm beverage. See you later!
I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder, and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped. -- Prince Humperdinck

hello dear mystery and d everyone!!!

mom went off on me on the phone after I said I am sorry you had a rough night - I never said anything about help but was just saying sorry last night was tiring - She said if you think I need help - never mentioned it- then I can just go to Florida and not come back - I feel for her - somewhere in there she knows she needs help - I have to let it go - she won't remember the words she said. It is out of fear and frustration.

I wrapped some presents, ordered a plastic holder for dd Youngers appliqué I made her for the fall holidays.
I am so tempted to wrap the white elephant presents but I want others to pick which ones they want to give.

waving to you all.

We received one present for a grandchild that we had ordered, way early and neat as a pin - A River. But another, - e bay - is represented only by multiple emails from e bay itself telling us that the postal service keeps trying to deliver but our BUSINESS is not open. Are they suggesting that our rural mailbox door is stuck? ... .. This is a child's shirt, not requiring a signature. Address they give us is correct, but obviously our mail carrier doesn't make this kind of mistake, so I think it may be wrong on the package, wherever that is. Sigh. Kinda wishing it wasn't the big business who was dependable. I feel that we are getting stuck in a giant-company rut, when I would rather give smaller ones a chance.

One more dreaded phone call done and calendaring done through first of February.
For one, brief, shining moment the kitchen is caught up.

((blessed)), how difficult to hear angry words and find no chance to answer them since they will be disappeared, and your answer would just confuse. I'm sure you still feel the sting. You are so wise and competent in this situation.

it was a bit sad seeing mom today - she is tired and I am sure it's her lack of drinking water affected her. I went there today and she had water in a quart container - not a glass but at least it was water. I checked her food and I could see she hadn't eaten even if she believed she did. I ordered her trout tonight from the restaurant which I know she will like. She will be with me tomorrow.

over the years of caring for loved ones whom have been sick or have had Alzheimers; I am always amazed on how, at this stage, that they can be so competent one day and totally off another day.

thank you d harriet! you are very kind!
that is weird about the e bay delivery. so frustrating!!! hope it works out!

I am going to get comfy -
make my list for the holiday.
I bought greens for my centerpiece and bought two merry christmas wreaths - wow they were pricey.
I have bills to do.'
kitchen towels and wash cloths folded and put away
