So there's this week, and next week, and then Christmas week. And New Years Day and 2025 the week after. This is crazy, isn't it?

counting down, planning, preparing, relaxing, self care. What else are you doing these days?

Hi! Thank you for that fabulous start today Twins' Mom!

Today I am decorating the tree with mostly unbreakable ornaments. Supper will be pork chops. I need to go to one store to get one thing to make supper.

My day will also include some self care. I need to moisturize my hands I think I would also like a nap while dh watches football.

It's another overcast day here.

I might be the first person to freeze to death at 50F.

This tickled my funny bone and I laughed out loud, LadyM. INWY feel.

I made two long phone calls last evening to my two living girlcousins who are just "close" over lifetime somehow. So now they are on the same page with how things will go with me for the next while. Dcousin S had a hundred questions, ever practical, always thinking of smart advice, what can help, etc. Ya'll "know" my cousin Mary from years of mention. Well, unbelievably I was calling JUST as she had gotten her diagnosis of PNEUMONIA! Ohmigoodness. She was so tired, so weary from battling what should have been diagnosed earlier and trying to be strong for her sick dh. I began to tell her - and ya'll know I start with the good bottom line first, but she knows that about me too well - and I sent her into waves of tears, unable to keep speaking, just devastated. So, it was all I could do to keep talking, talking, talking to stop any slippage into that for myself (even yawning is not as catching as Mary's tears) and try to pull her out of it. wow. I did get her laughing about nausea, etc., and promised to think of her whenever my stomach was upset and call her and complain. But, it is sobering to me to find she is in such exhaustion and so fragile.

Huge declutter push yesterday, impetus from dstepson. My enclosed porch is clear to the point I'm almost sorry it's too cold to decorate out there. But there is attractiveness in clear space, too. All headed to the newlyweds' soon.

good morning!!!
last night mom "slept" here but it was more walked through. the house looking for a place to sleep but she had a place to sleep. dh was gracious bc she went in there a couple times, dd's were amazing bc they brought her back to bed many times, I told the girls that having grandma makes you know what it is like to have a new born except she is bigger.

dd younger is exhausted, I am tired but she is exhausted for all the times she led mom to her bed.
we were just too tired to bring her home at the time they let her out.
her brain was better when she came home after an hour

missing the kitty. I know it was the right thing.

Waving! I am happy to report I can see the hill to the North and mtns. to the S.E. no fog.
We do have rain I our forecast today that has not showed up yet.
Got to my coffee and some writing / planning.
I have my outfit in mind.
Had my bfast.
It is so good read your posts.
I do want to knit a few rows but need to be more active to get a better handle on my step count.

I woke up sneezing this morning, and sneezing and nasal drainage has continued. I did a COVID test because I'm going to be around people this afternoon and it was negative. It's only been a little more than two months since COVID vaccination so should be okay, but then we flew 4 days ago. Dh says he's too busy this week to know if he has COVID. Anyway, the Hanukkah market is still on.

I think I have everything mostly ready. My printer threw a tantrum when asked to print on card stock and it took too long to get the jam cleared and get it to make nice again, so what signage I have is on printer paper.

I need to stop at drugstore today to drop off the rogaine script. I already did my "jab" Zepbound this morning. Drugstore pharmacy is open until six p.m. today so should stop on the way home. Dh and I are taking two cars so he can go directly to bowling alley.

I'm another who can freeze at fifty degrees. Thermostat inside right now is at 68 degrees and my hands are freezing, in fact. I just put on my fingerless arthritis gloves. https://www.amazon.com/Duerer-Compressi ... 85&sr=8-15

brother can't be told things
he was angry she spent the night here - he doesn't get it.
he also said if she wet things he would make her clean it up - I told him that with Alzheimers, especially under stress, can not even put the two and two together of even how to clean up or can't learn anything from it.

I know it's stress but I don't trust that he won't bring in his sister in law. That won't be good. If things were done with a good heart then it would be different.

we also are not happy that my uncle said he does so much for my mom and that my brother gave him mom's car. My uncle did not know the building changed their locks last year. He gave his daughter who is 60 (her bipolar makes her life chaotic and unhealthy-she is not a bad person) - her new boyfriend makes 80k a year and they could have bought their own car. He gave her his Cadillac.

I will have to tell my brother that my uncle is never there - his wife doesn't even like my mom. but today is not the day.
I have decided to tell him not to come tomorrow for mom - He is so much like mom that pulling the rug out is tied to stress of their own.

dd older and dd younger dont' trust my family and we are waiting for the shoe to drop.

Twins - Thank you for sharing the idea of using fingerless gloves. I had forgotten about that option. I just ordered some and am looking forward to their arrival.

DH and I went to early traditional church service this morning. There are less than 100 that attend this service and we know everyone so there is nonstop greeting and chatter. I enjoyed every moment.

I cooked breakfast when we got home. Sausage, hot link, omelets, and biscuits,

Frozen chicken nuggets is my go-to make-the-teens-happy meal on Sundays. I filled the air fryer with the nuggets for them.

DS16 and a friend just left to go ride side-by-side at the lake. I requested they wear seatbelts so their bodies will stay inside the roll cage. They are taking dry wood with them to have a fire after they are finished playing in the mud.

I am going to try for a simple, easy and restful day.

Ramblin', I can't remember who has or has not said the "delete cookies" at bottom of index page helped - actually I believe it was Dove who was so pleased with how that helped for her. Anyway, that's an option. When Kathryn mentioned cache and cookies, I think she was meaning both on our own devices and at our index page, but of course each one of our devices is different.

I am thrilled that the "small animal rescue" folks are saying "fabulous!" to our donation of the cage. They say it will immediately be put to use for kittens. I love win-win situations and little bitty hearts comforted.

Ds called to say ddil really likes the photo of my hair. Everyone seems to think I look neater.
