What are you signaling "Thumbs Up" to today? A quiet day? Something wonderful happening? Getting your tree up, like Kathryn yesterday? Getting your dh off to work, like he just left here?

The big thumbs up here is that I don't have to go out today. Althought I might go out for an errand or even two?

I'm glad to feel good today and I don't have weight of surgery and quite so many undone things hanging over me right now. Of course, I must stay productive today although I want to have some time of my own today too.

Bed is made, dishwasher unloaded and put away, our towels are turning in the washer. Groceries are at the door (literally) and dog needs to walk next.

Morning Twins…

Yesterday I went to 6 stores and finished up my shopping… mostly gift cards and 3 presents plus one for me : I do need to go back to the dollar store cause I need a couple of boxes, but the store is just up the road from me. I’ll do that tomorrow and wrap presents over the weekend.

My skinny tree came yesterday and I love it. Wasn’t sure at first as the branches are made of plastic and artificial material. Once up it looks amazing. Really caught me by surprise.

Today is laundry day and while separating our clothes I noticed I only had a few pieces of Sweeties underwear. That meant he was wearing them more than once and not putting on clean ones after he showers each day. When asked he admitted that’s what he was doing. So last night I put his clean underwear out by his sink for this morning. It worked so I guess I need adding that to my nightly routine.

Today I’m going to set Einstein to work. I want to decorate my tree but need to do that first before I get all of that out. I want to put my suitcases up in the attic and get my other two Cmas trees down so I can take them to good will.

Next up: in no particular order
Wrap fresh chicken in the fridge for the freezer
Rinse the conditioner out of my hair
Get the house clear of wires and set Einstein off
Continue working on laundry
Finish morning routines
Make an appointment for my nails.
Start on my Cmas cards.

Hi!

I didn't go anywhere yesterday. I don't really want to go anywhere today because it's extremely windy and has been since last night.

I was given a recipe for shortbread and it takes an entire pound of butter. I want to do a shortbread with chocolate on it and I have a pound of unsalted butter that I took out of the freezer yesterday.

I ended up putting more stuff on the tree this morning. I have some clear plastic angels that are small and I like to put stars and angels around the top of the tree, I also put some tiny balls up high. There is an angel on the very top that I have had since dd was a baby. She went up this year. I think I had a metal star on top the last time I put up the tree. I am sure the tree is finished now.

No idea what is for supper tonight. I think I'll tell dh it's a soup and grilled cheese kind of day.

I am in hour #3 of my day and all is going well. Cut/pasting notes I have written in today's journal so far...
** Snuggly warm and comfortable in bed when the 7am alarm went off. I am averaging 8hr 48minute sleep so far this month. I am thankful to have no pain, staying warm and feeling of being in a safe nest.
** Decided to get rid of the stash of new socks that I have on hand. I have been wearing that style the last few years. They are low cut and I don't like having exposed skin between my shoes and pants. Plus those socks leave a mark on my ankle where the top is tight. I found new socks that fix all the things that I don't like about the old sock style. After trying them for a month I just ordered some more.
** DD13 woke herself up and was sitting up in her bed waiting for me when I went to wake her up. #Nice. She is counting down the days until Christmas break and no more school this year.
** Chatted with DS16 for over 10 minutes. He was on the phone in his bathroom and I was on the phone in my bathroom. We are weird. LOL

Next up - get food situated for today.
** cook breakfast - eggs, hot links, sausage, potatoes, biscuits
** thaw some meat - tilapia fillets, sweet Teriyaki chicken
** hard boil 7 eggs and use them to make tuna salad
** cook spaghetti & meatballs.

Bs is great feeling better a good thing.
I did my QT routine journaled some caught up my planner I'd not done that in 3 days that never happens LOL!
Not really a prob. as I use it for done stuff to have a record so I enter when I've actually done a task.

Spiffed some on the counter while I fixed my bfast.
It's frosty out today.
Turned on the Cmas lites till the sun is up.
Then I'll turn em off.

Writing day
Deciding when errand day will be.

I Slept well I waited to see if I had the right amount of covers on the bed for winter so now...
I can get the other blankets downstairs and to the laundry room and I"ll start one each day till they are done.
That's the plan anyway.

de-cluttered a bag of fabric bags.
did basement walk about and up to one corner and nearly to the other one but their dogs were barky so stopped one house short of the corner.
Did next round made bed grooming happened got dressed.

We decided to have breakfast for supper. Fried eggs, bacon, fried potatoes with onions and toast! I'm looking forward to it.

Because I am now "officially" finished decorating, I used the lint roller on the ironing board where I had been putting all of the decorations to see which ones brought me the most joy, as far as non-breakable decorations go. My goodness, there was a lot of glitter on the first sticky sheet. The second sheet didn't have any glitter, so I am calling that job done.

I really want to sort my pantry seeing as how I am staying home this morning. I can do stuff tomorrow. It's minus 4 C, which is somewhere in the 20's F. Add that to the wind that is making the wind chimes clang and bang just outside my pantry window on the south side of the house. The window above my desk looks west. I can see the icicle lights whipping around out there.

dh took out the garbage to the curb -on his own - I know that things change each day right now but this is nice!
it's 7 degrees and it says it feels like -6 - so it was doubly nice!

mom is up and getting dressed - dd younger is picking her up - but mom is doing great right now physically and mentally, to be on her own right now; but she can't stay home alone all day bc she won't eat or drink water etc. the woman went home - a God send even if mom isn't happy.

I slept late and woke to three dogs excited to see me open my eyes

stay warm - I wonder if you will get snow or a wind storm - when we have that type of wind; snow is usually a round the corner

High will be just under 50 today, the house feels cold.

Am routine done, a load of laundry folded and put away, and cleaned CPAP equip. Like RR, I'm running the roomba today. I named mine Dobby to start but it's not a Dobby, more like Lucifer. I'm going to clean the stovetop and then get started on 45 min of paper taming/office day.
-write two cemetery checks
-sort papers on the desk in the bedroom
---set HOA papers aside to deal with separately
---assemble cemetery records by month (I've done this already for most months I think, I just need to find the folder with stuff, locate any that I need, and refile.
---as I work, file any of our own papers (set up folders as needed)

Coming back through, it's going to take an other 45 minute session to get to where I want to be. 15 min break, time for sandwich. Lucifer is working under my feet but hasn't stopped for something stupid.

I finished with temple cemetery papers. I don't have Nov bank stmt yet so can't do Nov, but I'm up through Oct.

I'm heading upstairs....
