Hour #7 of my day and all is going well.
I have most everything cooked, packaged, and cleaned up. I still want to make chicken patties. They are only 3 ingredients so are quick to make. I need a break from the kitchen before I start them.
DS16 had another situation last night with his pickup. A situation doesn't sound bad does it? It wasn't bad. It is just that DS16 vehicle situations seem to be constant. Every time he is driving especially at night and calls me, I take a deep breath and say a prayer as I answer the phone. My heart sinks and I try to mentally prepare myself for what he is going to tell me happened this time. Last night situation was handled fairly easily with the help of a DNeighbor and a friend with a car hauler. DS16 pickup was loaded on the car hauler trailer and brought home. Everyone was safe and in bed by 10:30. Teenagers are full of energy and fun to be around....but teens are also a constant source of stress especially when they are behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Hi from the center. So far so good except you haveto have Benadryl and I have never had this much before -two capsules. My BP went low so everything was put on hold, but they have started it back again. They will just monitor. Doing everything slowly, slowly.
I feel in the lap of luxury with a nearly private room except one wall is curtain. Big windows, TV. Beside kitchen with so much available. HRH microwaved the lunch I brought and made the hibiscus tea I brought in their coffee machine.
Dd26 arrived to take second watch
only one other person can be here, so HRH headed home. Have several more hours.

Re: Thursday Thumbs Up! PWYC
Completed everything on my list and also did a grocery run. Bought everything needed for Cmas Eve’s dinner before the store ran out of my main ingredients. Glad I did cause the store was crowed with people doing the same thing .
I am making a Honey Baked ham. Not something I usually cook because I’m not a big fan of pork, but my son loves it. Bought the pineapple and cherries along with the solid cloves. Back in the 60’s, we would soak cloves and string them beads to make necklaces. Yes I am that old lol
Will make my mom’s sweet potato casserole, special fresh green beans, not the casserole, freshly stewed apple slices and a salad made from cottage cheese, cool whip, sour cream, fresh fruit and orange jello.
Again my mom’s recipe.
Decided to make a cheese cake but not my NY Lindsey one I am known for. That one takes me an entire day to make, but decided to do an easier one. It silly how easy they are to make, and most everyone loves them.
Simple dinner tonight … backed chicken breasts, salad and a baked potatoe. My salads are fresh and premade. Saves time and I don’t waste produce that spoiled before I finish with it.
Harriet… hope you have an easy time tonight. I forgot about the benedeyl. I went with one of my friends when she first started chemo and was told it helps to stop the itching that sometimes comes along with it. How nice you have a kitchen available in your area. Makes life easier for all involved. Hugs and take care

Re: Thursday Thumbs Up! PWYC
how nice that your dd stopped by d Nancy!
how was your walk? chilly? glad you are warming up again
hi d rose yay on all you did!!! that's wonderful !!!
my family likes honey baked home - I am more for a veg pea soup myself I too don't like pork.
you holiday dinner sounds lovely!
you dinner tonight sounds great too!
hello everyone!
dh took all the containers to the curb
all but the iron large skillet cleaned.
laundry flip flopped - dd younger has laundry to do - but all the laundry that was downstairs is done.
watered the tree
I took the recycling out.
I feel stuffed from lunch - I need to make lunch for dd's and d mom - dh doesn't eat at night - I don't know why he stopped doing that.
mom is chatty and logical but still kind.
I need to go through Christmas presents and then wrap them - I usually do stockings (little stuff) for everyone including d mom but I am thinking that this year may be a wash for that.
I have to get the big crock pot for the chicken stock over night and into tomorrow morning.
I have bread and all flours on my top shelf in the fridge that I need to take out. dd younger bought too much food from the store and needs that shelf.

Re: Thursday Thumbs Up! PWYC
I got upstairs and did some stamping desk clean up, and made a "Happy Holidays" card. I'm always conflicted about sending Merry Christmas cards. I always told kids that celebrating Christmas with my family was like celebrating a birthday with someone - it wasn't your celebration but you could participate. But I feel weird sometimes sending Christmas cards.
Dh didn't realize I was planning to cook dinner tonight, and I missed his phone call earlier so he went to an open house at a business for awhile because he wasn't expecting me to be cooking...So I begged off and am eating the last of the leftover chili.

Re: Thursday Thumbs Up! PWYC
Dh put a nice fire in the fireplace and I have been sitting in the living room with him.
I started tidying up the shelves in the pantry. Of course when I heard dh splitting the thin pieces he uses to build the beginning of the fire, I went in there to enjoy it. Plus I wanted to get warmed up. Most of the house lights are dimmed right now and the inside and outside Christmas lights are on. The only issue is that dh has the news on.
Thinking of Harriet tonight.
