I'm coming back through. Pick up at Best buy was easy, I"ll have to reload all my own software. I'll take my time on it and continue to use this computer downstairs until I've made progress on the other one. I walked through Fresh Market - I could become addicted - and purchased quiche and soup for us for supper tonight. It's cloudy and foggy with supposed high near 60 and I have the gas fireplace on, not for heat but for coziness.

I also went to Lowes and got the big 409 refill. I prefer to refill the spray bottle periodically instead of buying a new one.

Off the top of my head list for today:
-finish a.m. routine
-HOA biz for neighbor. She is going to set up option for payment of dues on our neighborhood website.
-reload software on laptop
-assess how many Christmas cards I've made. I know I"ll make a few more but need to see where I am. And dh usually asks for some last minute cards.
-watch/listen to a webinar
-run the roomba
-check on dd's gift, which does not seem to have shipped yet
-call dd today

LadyM … you can order those smooth cuddles from Wm … or buy them in their undie ware department …that’s where I get mine.. or from any sporting good type store.

Back home Crome Bocci and the grocery store. Eating my lunch and then will do a few things around here.

And I can promise you the only other people who are more excited about Cmas break are the teacher. :D

just came home with mom from her dr appointment - the woman was lovely and got her up, fed and dressed - I just had to pick up mom - I couldn't find her wallet but I didn't look in the bathroom.

Mom's one valve has a leak, and she still has a fib but does seem to bother her. Her blood pressure goes to low sometimes - I have to take her bp and oxygen twice a day. no surgeries bc it's not worth the risk. he dementia was with us today - not awful but enough the dr. noticed. He didn't realize she started about 5 years ago.

d harriet I am so sorry you haven't slept!!! so hard! praying you rest tonight. I wonder if the meds are changing your taste buds. It could be the apple!
Your dh is wise - the bows and ribbon can wait or not at all!
I am so sorry he left the package at the road. rather lazy for a country home.
glad your dd's family is back home safely.

time to call my brother,
make a decision re: mom
figure out dinner.
I am feeling chaotic but I know the answer is to finish one small thing at a time!

fitness

what will help:
clean off the kitchen table
clean of the counters
clean dishes
clean the microwave inside
clean the stove top
swish and swipe powder room
flip flop laundry
put away family room, kitchen, dining room, front hall,

Does anyone have a Jambalaya recipe that you like - I thought I would make it for Christmas Day.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I am right there with you.

The refrigerator is getting low on ready-to-eat food. I need to spend a couple hours in the kitchen restocking the basics. I try to keep ready-to-eat multiple choices of meat, multiple choices of carb (pasta, rice and potatoes) and multiple choices of vegetables. Right now we only have
3 kinds of protein (chicken breast, hot link, yogurt)
2 kinds of carb (pasta & potato salad)
2 kinds of vegetable - salsa and green salad.
With 10-12 meals a day being pulled from this ready-to-eat stash it won't last long.

Next up - fill the instant pot with potatoes. Prep individual servings of trail mix.

I need to pace myself and slow down for a couple hours. When I pick DD13 up from school we will immediately leave for the city. I want to take her on a quick shopping trip to try to spur her interest in something that we can give her for Christmas. We will go out to eat at a place of her choice. Then she has appointment with her counselor. I will need to be fully ON for 5+ hours this evening so I want to take a couple slow hours before starting that time.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Blessed.. I use is Zatarains jambalaya with Andouille sausage. If you google Zatarains and go to their website, you will find additional recipes. I use their site when I make my jambalaya for all my Mardi Gras parties.

I lived in New Orleans and Mobile and unless you want to spend hours in the kitchen you can’t beat their recipes.

Can’t remember what the recipe says, but I always use chicken broth instead of water when I make it. And keep an eye on your pot. It’s easy to over cook it because of the rice. It’s suppose to be like thick soup so you can pot it over rice. I also add shrimp to mine as well. There is a recipe on their site for that.

I also make Mardi Gras salad… you can Google that as well.. it’s called that because it has Mardi Gras colors in it. Green spinach, purple onions and mandarin oranges for yellow.

Dd just left. Her SO was with her. A much longer visit than expected. They will run into "rush hour" traffic by the time they get home. To be honest, I'm just glad it's not me in the rush hour traffic.

I overestimated my ability to get the apps back on my computer successfully but I'm plowing on through. Hopefully I won't make too much of a mess of it. Probably overambitious in my list for the day, too, but OTOH I was following after Kathryn. And I'm glad I'm not cooking today.

-finish a.m. routine Done
-HOA biz for neighbor. She is going to set up option for payment of dues on our neighborhood website. Done
-reload software on laptop working on it
-assess how many Christmas cards I've made. I know I"ll make a few more but need to see where I am. And dh usually asks for some last minute cards.
-watch/listen to a webinar
-run the roomba running
-check on dd's gift, which does not seem to have shipped yet Had to send message re "Where's the package?" Label generated but appears never shipped.
-call dd today

Going to go upstairs to get cards, and change the printer cartridge on the downstairs computer.
