Thursday Thirds

Post by Kathryn-in-Canada »

Try breaking the day into three and set a goal for morning, afternoon, and evening.

Just one goal.

Anything else accomplished will be gravy.

My running list continues but I'm physically slowing down badly.

Feel under the weather right now, sore and tummy is upset (it could be the SAD light which is very strong. At this point I just want to go back to bed.

Today is an out and about day. So I really can't have one thing per third of the day. But I have roughly paced out the day by dividing it into thirds.

Morning:
[ ] Write my stuff for the December 29. I found the shared file of that service yesterday.
[ ] Clean the bathrooms (started so won't take long.)
[ ] DPC: Phone the clock repair guy about the clock in for repair
[ ] Appointment this morning to adjust orthotic
[ ] Take dd her Christmas present.

Afternoon
[ ] Pick up DC from school and take her to the doctor (that's a 2 hour drive in total)
[ ] Return or exchange dgs8's birthday gift as it doesn't work
[ ] Shop for suitcases for dgs8 and dgd
[ ] Pick up vanilla foaming soap from fancy soap shop

Evening
[ ] watch another Christmas movie
[ ] set up train under tree
[ ] swap light timers between living room and office
[ ] fold and put away laundry off drying rack

Hey, all.

A most unusual night. Up at least 6 times and rushing to bath - not for anything bad, just losing water. But slept and even truly dreamed between each time. The watch says almost 2 hours of deep sleep, in parts. That's really a lot - haven't been recording any of that lately. Weight down, not a surprise I guess but mysterious how it happened.

I have had apple sauce. Thinking about anything next. Taking the nausea med right on the dot, even when I had to be up in the night to do it.

Cleaned up a mess in the kitchen. Sat down.

Carrying one or two things through the house at a time and calling that tidying.

Ds has promised me he is planning and working on the same celebration he would have whether I was sick or not, whether I can attend or not. Nothing open-air, since the weather will not cooperate. I feel much better knowing he is just taking good care of everyone else and letting me fit in if I can.

Morning girl…

It’s laundry day and I’ve already started it. I plan on doing 4 loads. Bed has been stripped and remade with clean sheets, and I’ve asked Sweetie to help load our two Christmas trees into my car. Going to
Take them to GW later today.

I am waiting for an am azon delivery today. A book for my gs. Once here I will pull out my wrapping paper and wrap it along with two other small presents that need to be wrapped. Then I’m done m

I also need to put together 10 Cmas cards with small decorations attached for the girls in my morning class. That should take an hour of my time.

Other than that, my home is in good order. I won’t be able to use Einstein this week because it will get confused or hung up with everything that is out for Cmas. Not concerned about that as it only takes me 30 to do my home with my stand up vacuum cleaner.

I known many of y’all have plenty to do between now and Cmas and I am wishing y’all smooth sailings while getting it done. I still have a few recipes I’ve saved that need to be printed out. Monday I will
Make my cheesecake and I found the perfect slow cooker recipe for my spiral ham. Sweetie will help me add the extra leaf to my dinning room table and I will set it up than as well.

Harriet… I hope you continue to feel better.

Waving to y’all… will BBL

d harriet - I spoke to dd younger - she says -for her" the odansetron works about 20 - 30 minutes - she said for dh it took more time (one hour) as the chemo and radiation made him more nauseous than her pain does her. praying it gets better! hope you have good day!
you have good children! but they too have a wonderful mom!

d Kathryn hope the slow down doesn't affect your body or your day so much. you have been doing a lot!
I like that: anything else will be the gravy!

mom is depressed and lonely (she wasn't at my house yesterday and having people makes her want to give up) - she had my brother yesterday, and then dd younger went there to see if they had dinner - the girl didn't have time to get dinner for herself so dd took care of it.

today:
I have an upright small freezer coming that I will use for premade meals - I don't like digging through the chest freezer all the time. between 10 and 12.
cleaning angels between 10 and 12, they haven't been here for a month and I think I have done well.
mom gastro appointment be there at 10:50 am

Christmas
one errand

Friday mice people - hopefully they will come

what I have done:
Toasted to the day and to all who are part of my daily adventure. Here is to you to have a great day! Grateful for you!
breakfast
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I'm so sorry you feel rough around the edges, Nancy. Take a day or two and rest, you're always so busy and productive. The rest will do you good!

bw2, I bet if you get your mom over at your house today the activity will be good for her. You're always so positive here:
Toasted to the day and to all who are part of my daily adventure. Here is to you to have a great day! Grateful for you!
And we're grateful for you!

You're sounding down right born organized, RR. Congrats on having things in good shape, now you can focus on fun things.

I'm grateful that Harriet is checking in and bearing up, and for good sleep, in spite of adversity, at her house.

Kathryn, good plan to separate the day into thirds. You're probably running on fumes today - you've been so busy this week. I'm trying to remember the Eisenhauer matrix - do the things that are both urgent and important. When we get like this, tho, I think almost everything, in our minds, becomes both urgent and important. Your evening sounds nice - something to look forward to - and your lists not too overwhelming today. I hope you feel better as the day progresses.

I need to remember that I could watch/listen to webinars in the p.m. when dh is out, or with an ear phone when he is.

I'm over my Negative Nellie episode from yesterday. I'm feeling so distractable that everything - in my mind - becomes a "should," whether it's important or urgent. And my brain is pinging constantly right now with...."you should" most of the little, nice to do things.

So I've nearly blown the a.m. third of the day. I've finished a.m. routine, though, and straightened up MBR and bath. I'm going to do a few more tasks until noon. Strikes me I should also strip the bed upstairs and wash those sheets so dcleaning lady can put them back on tomorrow.

The afternoon I need to be out for the tasks I missed yesterday:'
-gas in the car
-temple with holiday bonuses (with running late and the rain there was too much going on and temple admin person was way busy too.)
-drop off check for cemetery
-shop for a specialty type gift for dfriends who host us for Christmas eve - my birthday.
-CVS re shortage of Zepbound. The FDA said today the shortage is over.
-post office for HOA mail

Dh is out again this evening, this time for dinner with client or wholesaler. I'll watch a webinar and perhaps straighten upstairs for 15 min and perhaps stamp.

On the plus side, on a normal day, my accomplishments would be enough. But dh forgot to plug the car in and it is quite cold outside so I didn't have enough charge to go to dd's (that takes about 15% in normal weather and that plus this afternoon's driving added up to more than the 68% I have available right now.) So I came home after the orthotic appointment and worked on other stuff.

Morning:
[ ] Write my stuff for the December 29. I found the shared file of that service yesterday.
[ Done!] Clean the bathrooms (started so won't take long.)
[ ] DPC: Phone the clock repair guy about the clock in for repair
[ Done!] Appointment this morning to adjust orthotic
[ ] Take dd her Christmas present.

Afternoon
[ ] Pick up DC from school and take her to the doctor (that's a 2 hour drive in total)
[ ] Return or exchange dgs8's birthday gift as it doesn't work
[ ] Shop for suitcases for dgs8 and dgd
[ ] Pick up vanilla foaming soap from fancy soap shop

Evening
[ ] watch another Christmas movie
[ ] set up train under tree
[ Done!] swap light timers between living room and office
[ Done!] fold and put away laundry off drying rack

Time for my breakfast. We will leave in an hour (car is preconditioning so the battery is warm when we leave, that will give us more range.) We can decide after dropping off DC and running errands if we want to top up a little at the supercharger (we'll be near it at that point) and drop off dd's gift. We have more than enough charge to do the afternoon errands. Dh remembered to increase the charge level to 90% but forgot to plug in the car so I only had 72% when I arrived at it this morning.

Hi!

I was up before 6 again, I don't enjoy getting up so early. Dh was up and down all night, told he he hadn't slept all night (again) and now he's sleeping.

We are having a massive pork chop tonight. I don't know what I will make to go with it. Maybe fake mashed potatoes.
