Re: Three days to Christmas PWYC
Thinking of you, Lucylee. If you didn't do the ultrasound, you'd still be worrying about it, tho? Am I right?
We went out for our very nice drive. If I'm driving, we're not going through neighborhoods looking at houses, which is dh's favorite and never fails to make me car sick. We drove to and then through a Civil War battlefield near here, eventually coming out near where my dparents used to live. From there, back to town, and stopped at a brewery/bar for late lunch and drinks. Now I've been out in the sunlight and have a full tummy and want a nap. I might set a timer and do a short one. I hate to nap so late but....
After the time out, I took a very short nap. Even set an alarm to get myself up since it's so late in the day. Dh walked the dog, and I just took her for another lap.
Dh is out bowling tonight. The dog and I are reading.

Re: Three days to Christmas PWYC
Those ultrasounds are so easy - just get it done and it will be over with! What is making you hold off - is it fear? could you do it right after christmas before insurance starts over again in January? it's better that she checks things out! it's a good thing. The fear is what is making it upsetting. living in fear instead of checking it out is a lot of weight on your shoulders. I know I speak for everyone that all of us are behind you!
d lady - I am so happy your are enjoying slower paced days! you amaze me with your knowledge!
hi d twins glad you got a nice nap! your dog is a very lucky dog! enjoy reading!!! the drive sounded lovely!
hi d Nancy yay on your walk
reading your journey thread - lovely
I don't think you would enjoy my books - all gardening and garden sciences
I love the happiness file - I used to plan things for dh every month - to add things that he loved - I should do that again!
yay on your bible app
I finished wrapping christmas presents - dd younger is out buying stocking stuffers for me, the dog (name) pull - yes each animal in our extended family pulls another animals name. We have 3 name pulls this year bc of dd Youngers dog. we used to get one thing for each animal but now the adult kids are getting animals too.
dd older is taking mom home - I am grateful - she picked her up and is dropping her off!
I made a grocery order that will be delivered tomorrow morning - I have two - three things to make tomorrow
I would like to drop off something at neighbors
I think I will set up cinnamon rolls tomorrow - I am not sure - mom would like ham on christmas but I don't think I want to drive near the mall.
I need to buy a bottle of bubbling wine for niece

Re: Three days to Christmas PWYC
Forgot to press submit on a post I wrote hours ago.
Got to church. My bit was well received. Stayed to the end of coffee hour. Came home and had breakfast. Debated napping but didn't.
Managed to do one load of laundry and to test out my newest boots (since I've got two pairs of almost identical boots in a week) with my new orthotics. A good combination. The less-new boots don't work with my orthotics for some reason. But I can't return them as I needed boots last Sunday and so wore them for a couple of times outside already. They are OK, the newest ones are better.
Walked to pizza tonight because dh wanted to eat in to chat with our favourite server before Christmas. Who, of course, was off work tonight.
I ironed dh's handkerchiefs and some dishtowels and picked one of those to hang covering the opening left by the missing cupboard backing. It looks odd but better than looking at my baking ingredients cupboard contents.
Set a time and place for lunch tomorrow.
It is only 8 but I'm exhausted. Need to do the cards with tips for the staff, that's the top priority but all I want to do is go to bed.
There's no heat in the office but dh is managing with whatever comes in from the kitchen and hall. I've turned up the heat in all the other rooms of the apartment to compensate. No heat is a lot easier to deal with than no heat and cleaning up after a flood so I'm not complaining about that.

Re: Three days to Christmas PWYC
I CUOP-ed through Fri.
Happy Birthday, Mystery's DD. How nice to feel like taking a long walk.
Nancy's drive to see the lights sounds very festive.
blessed's dmother had a good day Friday - a blessing. Into each life, some shopping must fall, though.
LadyM, your stories about trucks and tires seem very familiar to me. Always interested.
Kathryn, so glad you can be there for granddaughters. I'm sure the little one was comforted. Great that your organization carried over such a nice long stretch of days.
Twins', your optimism was very contagious on Friday, I still felt it when I read.
Ramblin', I'm sure your table looks lovely, and thanks for thinking of me.
Cathy, don't get stuck/lost in closets! We need you!
Hoping lucylee and dgd feel better soon.
Yesterday evening I supervised HRH do two laundry loads - he barely needed me
Today I helped HRH as he went through bills, paperwork, medical paperwork, ins.
Movie - "Miracle on 34th Street", the '94 version, because dsonil recommended so highly
We had doorstep visits of each family who was here at ds', and still have gifts to open
We'll open them Christmas morning and call around to tell what we got, lol
I took a "sponge bath" tonight - my dmother's remedy when just not able to do much more
HRH and I did not attend the family gathering. More about that in J and C. We still got porch-visits, however, and presents.
The food ddil sent was very nice but not a thing tasted like it looked, except deviled egg! And I know those recipes - they're good. HRH gave me his deviled egg. I guess it has such a strong taste. I was running out of Jello so he ordered groceries - he says I do tend to eat the jello, lol, so he has no intention of running out of that.
My goal is to hold myself together through the appts and get home to a warm house tomorrow and just nap and nap.

Re: Three days to Christmas PWYC
Yes, Twins, it would still bother me a TINY bit if I did not have the ultrasound. I mean, I really think it is unnecessary; I can't believe anything has just happened to cause unusually bleeding 2 months after changing that Rx, when the side effects clearly say it can cause breakthrough bleeding. Right? But if I don't have the ultrasound done, I'll wonder... and as I said before, I have to do all that I can to make sure I'm here for these two dgrands.
But blessed, it IS scary -- fear of possible results leading to an unnecessary, very painful biopsy. When she mentioned THAT possibility, it scared me to death! When a doctor tells you something is going to be really painful... whew... that IS scary. BUT I keep telling myself, it is totally unlikely that I will need to get a biopsy. But yes, it is a fear of the unknown, plus, this is NOT just a normal ultrasound, it is a vaginal ultrasound... so it WILL be very uncomfortable and intrusive.
However, I had a laugh today -- was talking to DS on the phone about that yes, I should at least go through with the ultrasound for peace of mind, and if they say I need a biopsy, I will get a second opinion. DGS, who remember, is a little Sheldon MOST of the time, pipes up: "Isn't that what they do after you're dead?" It took me a minute, but I finally realized what he was thinking about -- I said, "You are thinking about an AUTOPSY. They are NOT talking about doing an AUTOPSY on me." ROFLOL...
Anyway... I took DGS home earlier this afternoon... got my garbage to the road... have not done allergy shots, and I'm not sure I should, feeling like this. Man who cuts the hay brought me a ham and a gift certificate to his produce store.
LOTS to do tomorrow to finish prep for Christmas. Told DS I do not plan to do cookies until I feel better.
Harriet, I am so sorry you've had additional stress over holiday time, and will be praying all goes well tomorrow. (((BIG HUGS)))
My dh used to love to ride around and look at Christmas lights, or just ride around with no purpose at all. I think sometimes he felt claustrophobic if he stayed in the house too much, and he wasn't able to just get out and walk, so riding around and seeing what others were doing was a stress-reliever for him.
I hope things work out well with your dmom, blessed!
Favorite books, Nancy? I'm not sure... I have read several Frieda McFadden books that I liked. Right now I'm trying to read a book on my phone -- Claire Lombardo, The Most Fun We Ever Had. Not sure how I feel about this book, but I'm only in chapter two. It's supposed to be a "rich, complex family saga full of long-buried family secrets." I've only got twelve more days to read it and I'm only on chapter two. I'm also trying to read Lisa TerKeurst, "It's Not Supposed to be This Way" -- "How to live assured when life doesn't turn out like (we) expected."
I had one slice of a frozen pizza which I prepared for dgs when I got out of bed (around noon) -- DGS ate the rest of it. I had a banana later, and then a while ago I had a can of chicken noodle soup and some crackers. The only good thing about this sickness is that it has definitely taken my appetite! I don't want to eat anything, really. That is unusual for me!
Y'all pray for me, that I will get through the ultrasound without too much pain or discomfort, and most of all, that the results will show absolutely no need to have a biopsy!
Hope y'all have a good night and a good start to the week!

Re: Three days to Christmas PWYC
Good evening!
Thanks for the birthday wishes for DD! She very much enjoyed her movie and staff party on her birthday and her lower-key celebration the next evening. We went out for burgers at a place she enjoyed when she was in college. There was a location nearer us that we tried going to, but it was closed, clearly permanently. So we turned around and went to the one by her school. We had a lovely dinner. They do a lot of specialty burgers, including different meats and non-meat options. Then we went home by way of looking at Christmas lights. GE’s lighting division used to be headquartered here, and the campus there still puts on a huge display at Christmas time. This was the hundredth anniversary, so things were really done up. We were lucky that there was a party bus ahead of us taking in the lights, so we could cruise slowly without anybody blaming us. Then we came home and had pie (her request) and presents.
I have been spending most of the last couple of days working on wrapping presents. I couldn’t start until late Saturday morning. I needed to put some bags for the thrift store into my van to make room to set up the card table, and I couldn’t do that until DH had done the grocery run.
Tomorrow’s escapades will include taking bags to the thrift store, going to the BMV to get a handicapped placard, and picking up a couple of last-minute things for DH.
I just filled my pill case for the week and realized that with all my orders to A., I had forgotten to order the pill case I want and can no longer find in the drugstore. Ugh! I am going to bed now and will attempt to CUOP better tomorrow.
