Re: Boxing Day PWYC
hello again. - I am happy to feel peaceful - before Christmas I worried about presents and that everything was done - right to the moment we opened presents. it all worked out. what a relief!
as we don't have water - I put all our dirty dishes in one spot - wowzers
dh asked if he could rinse the dishes bc he forgot the water was off.
time to pick up mom - she is not thrilled but I can't trust she will drink and eat.
hello to all of you.

Re: Boxing Day PWYC
Good Morning!
With an eye to the clock....I have 8 minutes left in this hour. I'm challenging myself to finish writing this post before TOTH.
I am slowly and intentionally sliding back toward my previous healthy habits.
We are enjoying a slow day with intermittent rain. We REALLY need moisture so anything falling from the sky is welcomed. Eventually we need to experience very cold weather to manage bug population but for now I am pleased to be having temps in the 50 & 60's
I have started undecorating the house. I have a gathering spot for all the Christmas decorations taken down. It takes me a while to "see" the decorations because I don't notice many of them. Once I have finished gathering the decorations I will get the plastic tubs from storage and load them up. I am being selective on decorations and what I want to keep using. I am hopeful to eliminate one or two of the plastic tubs this year.

Re: Boxing Day PWYC
can you drag me with for healthy lifestyle and eating d lady!
waving to you - have a good day
I had a frustrating bit with mom's building - they want my mom's parking space for the valet parking - they said that we are lucky that they were allowing me to drive in and drop off mom. She pays a lot of money for the spot. My brother will let them have the difficult spot to park in but at first he was going to let them take the spot - but will say no to giving away mom's good spot. They would have to take her to her to her apartment every day and morning. it's quite a distance. I will try hard to work with them on their busy days to let them park there. I don't like threats.

I am waiting for the nurse to call and schedule biopsy. I am so nervous I am nauseated and I am having severe vertigo. It started yesterday. I don’t think it’s bc of the nervousness.,Dmom says more likely it’s the congestion that has been causing the cough. I know my sinuses are stuffy. OTOH, could it have anything to do with coming off the HRT? I’m taking it EOD right now. At any rate, I feel miserable, and I’m not likely to feel much better till the biopsy is done.
Tomorrow is another day.

(((LucyLee))) Remind yourself of all the good advice you have received and given. I think often of how you worded the advice to live in the moment. I don't remember exactly how you said it but it was something like....Be where your feet are.
I keep removing Christmas decorations and with each one I think I am done. But then I notice another decoration. I am giving myself 24 hours to see & remove everything before I pack everything up in storage tubs.
I am packaging, labeling and freezing Christmas food in individual portion size servings.
DH said that he doesn't know what day it is. I told him it was Thursday the 26th. He asked why the kids weren't in school. *sigh*

Yes, LadyM, our school counselor gave me that advice when my dad was sick in Texas and I was trying to finish up my last year in school. “Be where your feet are.”
That is easier said than done! Especially when you can feel your whole body tensed up and you’re nauseous AND dizzy.
Nurse still hasn’t called.
(((Hugs))) for your worries re LordM.

Re: Boxing Day PWYC
DS16 isn't working at his primary job because it is raining. He does have a side job of taking care of lifelong friend dogs for the next week while they are away. DS16 visits her home 3 times a day to care for their furkids. He is combining taking girlfriend out to eat with the furkid 2nd visit of the day. I asked if he had permission to take girlfriend to their house and he said it didn't matter. grrrrr.... we are not of the same opinion on this matter. There are plenty of ways that I could get involved in his decision, but I am choosing to stay out of it. Everyone involved knows everyone in this little town so there is awareness and some overlap in knowledge & responsibility.
In between raindrops I am enjoying being outside. I am gathering fallen limbs to make gathering leaves easier. I am still waiting for all the tree leaves to drop. Leaves = prized compost material for vegetable garden.

Re: Boxing Day PWYC
christmas tree is down as both girls are going to Florida tomorrow - dd younger dislikes the day after christmas bc it means that everything changes back as they go to Florida - she was in tears seeing it down - I am sure it's because her life is in a flux - not being old enough to know that a flux/change can be a start of a really good time in ones life.
I have always been able to pull the tree down and pull it to the curb but this one was a wide and heavy tree. I got it out the front door but I asked dd older to put it outside.
They both think mom will be able to go back to Florida - they have not yet understood that it is no longer possible. Dementia takes its time and then it's here more and more. Not having that experience, they may not be able to adapt yet. Vacation may be the way to go from now on. They think my brother and I are jumping the gun but I see the day to day change is not good. They think she will be fine once she gets back there. Maybe it will but we can't chance it.

Re: Boxing Day PWYC
we have water again!
hi d lady - when we grew up everyone knew everyone else in the neighborhood - we always knew mom would know about things before we got home! (we were pretty honest but we were still stinkers sometimes) As adults we both think that God was watching out for us by getting caught at silly things.
leaves are lovely compost!
hi d Lucy (hugs to you too))
hi d Nancy
welcome back from errands
hope you find some nice teeshirts soon
d everyone hello
time to sweep the needles from the front room floor
ahh is rinsing dishes and is amazing - I still don't know what I said that day but he has been so thoughtful and helpful. It been lasting.
I have to make dinner soon.
