Re: Saturday System Shifts
Just popping in to say I'm alive and have been well since I last popped in, but just overwhelmed.
Like Harriet, we needed groceries. Our family Christmas dinner is moved to tomorrow (ds and ddil got a tummy bug) and I needed to shop for that. Ddil can't face ham (that was the last thing she ate before getting sick) so I'm making up three meat for tomorrow. Plus it is on a Sunday that I have to be in church to be part of the service so it will be a mad scramble today.
Dh came out and did groceries with me. It is freezing rain here but we got out before it got really bad.
Now to attack my list which includes baking dh's birthday cake, prepping meat to marinade, figuring out how to do both the turkey and giant ham in the oven (dh is appalled at the size of the ham but it was cheaper than buying a small one.)
I'll cuop in a few days.

Re: Saturday System Shifts
I have a ham San. story to write about in my ... not sure where... grandparents journal.
Walked.
Got the Marie calendar larger meat pie so proud of my self for cutting it in half as the portions are for two servings.
I've always just eaten it all!
New trend for me yea!

Re: Saturday System Shifts
Good afternoon! You’ve certainly got your work cut out for you, Kathryn! Maybe only cook part of the ham now, and save the rest for later?
Harriet, the itching has diminished to the point where, night before last, I did not take an antihistamine before bed, and I slept through the night with no trouble, but by last night, the itching was back, so I took an antihistamine and will take one again tonight. I do think the new body wash is helping. I would just really like to have the itching squared away by the 2nd, so I can try the Adderall again and know whether I can tolerate it before my appointment with the psychiatrist on the 6th.
We had a quiet Christmas this year. Everything was wrapped and under the tree ahead of time, and my brother and his girlfriend didn’t feel like getting together, so it was just the four of us. Our church doesn’t do a Midnight Mass anymore; attendance was just too low. So we went to 7 pm Mass on Christmas Eve and had a leisurely evening thereafter. Much, much different than when the kids were small, and we went to Midnight Mass, came home, put the kids to bed, and stayed up till 3 dragging the presents out of their hiding places and wrapping them, only to be woken at 7 or earlier by very excited children and then have to schlep around to both sides of the family.
DH and DD are working on the puzzle that DyoungestBIL sent, and DC is watching the streaming service I got her for Christmas. I was doing some wash while I was CUOPing and just had a late lunch. We are scheduled to run the livestream at 4 pm Mass, so of course, I scheduled myself months ago to give blood right after the service that we usually attend.
I am thinking about going early tomorrow to see if they will take me; they will likely have a lull while Mass is going on.
Now I am going to start washing some of DH’s shirts. He asked for new shirts for Christmas, and I got him hangers instead. We didn’t have enough to have all his shirts clean at once, so once he can see them all, then he can decide if he needs something.

Celebrating the accomplishment with you! BWTG!so proud of my self
I had sliced brisket & potato for lunch. DH isn't hungry so will eat later.
DH and I went for a nature walk through the local town park trails. It is bright sunshine, minimum wind and 61F. Beautiful weather to enjoy time spent outside. We ran into 3 people we know so there was a bit of socializing happening too.
Christmas decorations have been completely packed & stored. While putting those tubs onto storage racks, I went ahead and retrieved the tub of January decoration and pictures. My goal is to reduce January decorations by half and was able to do that easily. Every decoration has meaning and brings joy.

Re: Saturday System Shifts
I am sorry - another quick post and wave!!!
mom and I went to olive g. and she hadn't been to a restaurant in quite awhile (I have to remember that )- we also did 2 other errands.
mom did walk more than she had in awhile. she is tired and is watching ken burns the west
85% of christmas is now down, packed and now on my side of the garage -dd older accidentally took the keys to the one car that is parked on the side where the christmas boxes are put. She is sending the keys via fd x. We should get the keys on Monday - she felt so bad but it's okay. She has been such a big help in driving mom back and forth this last week and more.
mom has decided the hill she is going to die on is not drinking water - I am trying to figure out a way to have her drink water/anything without saying she has to drink water - I will add more soups etc.

I agree we all susceptible to virus's after the holidays. I know a couple family members weren't 100% - all that rush tires the body and makes it easier to get colds!

Re: Saturday System Shifts
Mystery, I'm happy you had a respite from that for a while.
((blessed))
Drinking water - once I remember a dr gave a prescription for drinking water to one of my aunts. It seemed to make an impression that it was on a prescription pad with his signature.
All decor is down here, too, but it isn't anything to compare with ya'll. Took no time at all.
Trying to decide whether I'll make up the Christmas Card wreath this year. Kinda leaning toward no. It is a lot of work, even though it is cheerful to see through January. If I was going to hang something, maybe put the effort into a more permanent location for a hangar. Could save the cards until early December next year and start making the wreath up early, lol.
All 6 checkmarks for my focuses done today, 3rd day in a row. I am just judging by how I feel to decide when I've done enough for each. I know this is a good week.
Prayer meeting was good. Lots of attendance. Nice thoughts.
