I've finished light therapy, tea and chocolate so need to get moving now.

I've also quickly CUOP.

Dd commented I must miss my Boxing Day party since I put out all the regular things I'd have at that for arrival food when they arrived.

Dgs8 ate all the egg rolls for his supper since he didn't want Turkey, Ham, or Flank Steak. Making three meat entrees was my limit. He complained that all the sausage rolls were gone. He had not eaten any when they were out and not mentioned he wanted those too, so I could have heated up more for him but didn't as I didn't have a clue.

Dh and I did manage to get everything cooked and on the table just 9 minutes later than planned. It was a scramble but done almost completely without any help (dsil drained the veggies and put them in the serving bowls.) Between dinner and dessert, I ran the dishwasher and after dessert ddil helped me with unloading that. I put things where I knew they wouldn't get mixed up with the dirty things still on the table and then when everyone had left, loaded the dishwasher for the second load and got the food put away, hand wash items ready to go. Dh finished those when he got home so the kitchen was in pretty good shape when I went to bed (I unloaded the dishwasher and stacked the things on trays in the dining room before going to bed as I was still upset and didn't want to try and lie down yet.)

Dgd brought a birthday present for dh (a giant decorative snowflake) and signed dgs' name on the card to which dgs loudly objected when it was read out. She had a meltdown that lasted over 30 minutes when it was time to leave (and then threw up in the car on the way home, see J&C).

Dgs3.5 was adorable as usual but didn't eat much. He sang Happy Birthday with everyone and applauded at the end. He got new Buzz Lightyear pjs from dd for Christmas and insisted on putting them on and running around saying "To infinity and beyond" and pressing the buttons on the sleeves and chest. He also left without a meltdown so their work on using behavioral modifications to help him with that is working well.

I need blood work done today or tomorrow and have to run payroll and do our charitable contributions for the year (part 2, did some before Christmas.) I'd love to take the decorations down today because I'm so upset over Christmas but it is a 2 day job and dgs is coming tomorrow for an overnight so I'll leave that task until Jan 1. Ds is sleeping over after his NYE party because he has a 7:30 shift at the city hospital on Jan 1. He'll let himself in and sleep on the couch in order to not disturb dgs3.5, or us. He'll likely be gone by the time dgs wakes up in the morning.

Today is Monday so that is also house blessing day and the kitchen floor needs attention.

For now, I'll put on a podcast and start in on putting away things in the dining room.

Fridays procedure on my leg went well, but once the Novocain wore off it became very painful. I have 5 stitches on the inside of the incision and 15 to close it/. I watched the entire time because my leg was numb. Then I asked to see what the dr removed. It wasn’t bloody and looked like a smooth piece of grizzle.

Hard night of sleep and then to add insult to Injury, I woke with a nasty cold on Saturday. I haven’t had a cold in years. And no it’s not Covid.

So I’ve spent the last few days in bed…

mom is still here as she wants to stay -it won't be forever but she feels safe and happy- her brain is great - social interaction helps - she does have moments - last night she was looking for a place to sleep-dh had been in bed already and she knocked on the door. dh is being a very good sport. Then she realized where she could go. Sometimes if there are too many choices in cloths etc. but that is getting better and better. Doesn't mean it won't change tomorrow or today but at the moment she is in a very good place.

tonights dinner: barley/butternut squash dish - mom added chicken tenders that need breading.
yesterday I made two soups but mom does not like saffron for the one soup with pistou - I don't think I will make it again even though I had made it before. It's rare that I make something with saffron anymore.

Thank you for birthday wishes for our dh birthday twins! We'll have dinner with ds tonight for his birthday, thankfully a relatively quiet evening. And after today, I'll feel I can start to wind down. Dh will likely be home early tomorrow and won't work Wednesday. He'll be at work on Thursday, I don't know about Friday. He may feel he needs to be there for last minute trades, or may leave it up to his people. I want to check in with neighbors that we missed last weekend for chili - perhaps they can come over for drinks and snacks at some point tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday.

I'm increasingly anxious about his retirement and will talk with therapist about it tomorrow. Things with dd have settled down and it's quiet on that front for now but she puts me into a tizzy everytime things go wrong.

I was supposed to meet with website gal today but she begged off, too much going on, and sent me some tutorials. I'd probably prefer to do the tutorials on my own anyway, I think I learn better that way. A couple of errands - need to go p/u CPAP supplies, and pick up coffee creamer while I'm out. Thinking I should run by the post office to check the HOA mail also.

I wrapped dh's birthday present (a nice cashmere sweater to replace one that is too large now.)

I should do the errands, then settle down on this website. She says I can't break the "back end" of the website.
