Much to do Monday

Dining room is 90% done. I'm putting linens in the washer as I find them and I'll run it in a bit.

It is noon now, so I will get dressed for the day. I donwanna but will because my dressing gown is too warm. I'm sweating.

(((RR))) WOW! You make that sound easy. Without a doubt it had its moments of OWIE!! Without a doubt you have nerves of steel and courage. Do they send off the part removed to be tested? Forgive me and ignore me if I am being too nosy. I am fascinated and clueless about this medical procedure.

I love to hear how others cook and ingredients used. It sends me scrabbling to research them out of curiosity and desire to learn.

Breakfast was made, served, cleaned up. Ingredients used - eggs, ham, potatoes.

I have spent time in the garden every hour that I have been awake. I don't stay long but get my minimum hourly steps done while accomplishing small tasks.

I have done 1st class and 2nd one is starting listening to it now.
I got the kitchen and dining room swept and mopped.
Got dog tufts of hair off the living room floor.

Wanted to say got a mini tool box topper in pink for my Christmas gift.
I'd said I wanted one earlier in the year. Dson took that hint and every one got one mine was
the only pink one! They were all pleased with them. Said I was going to clean out the junk drawer
and put most used items in it. Dgd#3 said that was a good idea and going to borrow that idea.

After the cancerous part is removed, the drs temporarily patch you up and send you back out into the waiting room. There is a lab right in the drs office where what is removed is dissected and looked at. The procedure cuts out a larger area than the affected area and if the outer edges are “clear” then you are called back to the examination room and are sewed up.

However, is the edges still show the cancer then the dr will call you back and remove more skin around the area. Then the entire process is repeated again until the affected area produces clear skin.

I go back this coming Friday to have more surgery done on my face right near the top of my ear. The area is very small, but I don’t know how big the surgery will be until the dr removes that area and takes it to the lab to evaluate it. Time will tell.

And yes I use tons of sunscreen especially on my face. I have earned the name pale face because when I go to the pool the zinc I use in the sunscreen turns my face white.

RR, glad you're staying on top of it and getting it done. Skin cancer is scary stuff.

I went out to pick up the CPAP stuff and coffee creamer and treated myself to a walk through Tar-jay since they had coffee creamer. Not much selection in the sugar free, but we will survive. Bought several things I know we need - longer charger cord for new iPad, a frame for a small drawing I bought in NYC, kleenex, small tissues for car. And went through Starbucks for iced latte as another treat. I had several other errands that I could have done - bank for cemetery, post office for HOA, wash car, etc. but decided to do it another day.

Right now I need to fold the lol in the dryer and advance the whites in the washer. Then it's the HOA invoicing... I did decide, after the long post yesterday in which I thought everything through, that it's easiest to email, and it's easiest to email from the website where emails are already entered. I can go through and do the Quickbooks invoicing at my leisure and date it 1 Jan on the books, even if I'm not getting them emailed yet. I also put a note on our Facebook asking everyone to update emails, and sent an email to those email addresses asking them to update as needed.

Apparently the roomba is done?

-may have to go outside with ddog for a few minutes - she is quite restless
-work on HOA invoicing, tutorials and figure it out. Probably should do from upstairs where I can put tutorial on one monitor and the website on the other.

Hi!

I have been to the last Monday morning group for the year. I'm not going to the afternoon group this week.

I took out the bathroom and kitchen garbage this morning and cleaned the litter box. I have the dishwasher going.

Happy birthday to Twins' Mom's dh and to Ken!

It was very windy here overnight. The empty garbage can and it's lid ended up on the driveway. The large compost bin fell over. Thankfully it was empty. The wheelbarrow also fell over along with one outside chair that is still on the patio. It was pouring rain when I went to knitting, but it had stopped by the time I came home for lunch.

Trying very hard to limit sweet things today.

We are having meatloaf for supper and I will bake some potatoes for me and yams for dh.

Happy Birthday, Gentlemen!

I had such a lovely long morning and lunch with dd26! An excellent day for getting lots of errands run - school is not in and many staying home from work, but most places up and running. We seemed to "make" every light and be first in every line. Pharmacy, banking and package send-off done, each to dd26's satisfaction as far as keeping me in the car, lol.

I have a new wig - name-brand and pretty. Might be called salt and pepper, although coloring is warmer without going yellow. My first choice, so complements of the C center. Dd is going to buy me her second choice from the catalog - just a streak of gray. But I have a prescription for that, which may be honored by insurance - never know 'till you try. Dd was invaluable for this shopping - eyes like an eagle and scrupulously honest, interested.

The appt was very nice, helpful and with many free "extras" such as a cloth headcovering, too. Still considered holiday time, so there was a "gift bag" of many little toiletries that seem pampering.

Panera was an excellent choice, and HRH was remembered, too. We decided to do that last and just bring everything home to eat together. Delish, fun. I ate every bite of my large sandwich - what a change in me since my week of nausea. I had gathered the items I wanted dd26 to take with her, so that got done. Some all-occasion wrapping paper, kitchen items, a sweatshirt.

She had just received her year-end bonus from work, so we got to celebrate that milestone with her. It paid off the remainder of their wedding expenses, so she has a clear credit card and is quite happy about that, plus she got instant spouse-agreement with her decision.

We sat and enjoyed some of the funnier photos from the wedding that we hadn't seen yet. One with entire wedding party jumping in the air. (a bit of photoshop needed - wardrobe malfunction for a bridesmaid).

Tobias got his little toenails clipped. As always, completely obedient for her, his only superior in the world, I guess. She leaves and he sits like a bowling pin, waiting for the door to open again.

Good afternoon! Happy Birthday to Ken-in-Canada and TwinsDad!

I have had two appointments today, both virtual, one with the nutritionist (new to me) and one with the therapist. Talked with the therapist about getting the kids driving. This has been on my to-do list for literally years, but I have not managed to make progress happen. Apparently, I need to break down the steps even smaller for it to not be overwhelming. First step is to find a time, sooner rather than later, to talk to both kids together. I woke DC up to do so — they had some breakfast and promptly remembered they had a virtual rehearsal for their play that was postponed when the director came down with Covid. I don’t know how long that’s going. So I’m kind of twiddling my thumbs regarding that.

I should try calling about CPAP supplies. I tried calling last week (Friday, I think), but was told it would be an hour on hold. I decided to wait for another day — today. And I have a load in the wash. That needs to go in the dryer and have another load started.

I want to go out and search for a round pumpernickel loaf to go with veggie dip for tomorrow. (How retro of me!) Actually, I don’t want to search — I just want to go to the store and get, but I’m not sure who will have it. If all else fails, I have a chip and dip set and can just use that and some veggies, but I want the pumpernickel loaf. We used to have a bread machine, and I could make it myself, but now, no bread machine, no rye flour, and probably none of some of the other ingredients.

I'm dressed, the bed stripped and the first load of laundry complete, second in washer. The first load included the dining tablecloth so it is put away for the season. Once Christmas is put away, I may pull out the silver/grey cloth I have and do up a winter blue/silver centrepiece. Or not.

I had breakfast and read a chapter of my book while I ate.

Watered the plants, they were desperate for water after deeper cold and the associated hot draft of the radiator fans and general dry air. Today is above freezing and I note the living room is 28% relatively humidity compared to the 20% last week.

I'm about ready for a nap.

I've proposed we turn our back on the fridge overstuffed with leftovers and go out for dinner tonight for dh's birthday. He's agreed. So we leave in about 3 hours.

I will remake the bed with clean sheets and then contemplate a nap.

DD13 called asking "Can I come home?"
I instantly replied "Absolutely!"
I hesitated but couldn't stop myself from asking "Are you okay?"
DD13 said "Yes."
I asked "Do you want me to come pick you up?
DD13 said "No, Mom is bringing me home now"
Me - "Our door is open and I'm looking forward to your arrival"

This isn't unexpected. DD48 asked DD13 to stay the whole Christmas break. There are 7 days left that DD48 could have kept DD13 but is choosing to return her here.

I have spent more time in the garden. It is my happy place and I am feeling refreshed just being in the open air & sunshine. Firepit usage is on a continual rotation as weather allows. This year I have decided to burn the leaves instead of my typical lasagna style composting. I am spreading the ashes from burning leaves, vines, and tree branches on the garden raised beds. It does take more time to burn and spread the ashes, but I have the time and am enjoying the process.
