Phone selection went fairly quickly. I buy renewed phone on ariver and have never had a problem. I have parameters that I look for in choosing phones and a ballpark amount I am willing to pay. The biggest deciding factor is making sure it will receive updates for a minimum of 2 years. After the phone was selected (S22 ultra) then DD13 choose what color phone case. She chooses purple which surprised me. She will be without a phone until it arrives but has a laptop to use. She can borrow my phone to talk with her friends.

Now back to my normal doings.....

Blessedw2, the store was sold out of all the regular milk. I've gotten milk at this store before and today there was very little in the dairy case, other than some ot milk and a lot of eggs in cartons taking up a lot of space, but only one carton in each row with nothing behind the eggs. Normally eggs would be behind the other eggs. At the first store I couldn't get a parking spot.

LadyM dh and I both have Otter boxes on our phones and even with the number of times he has either dropped or thrown his phone, he has never damaged it.

The drains are gurgling, which isn't surprising with all the rain we've had. The ground must be saturated. I was going to turn on the dishwasher tonight, but I think I'll wait until tomorrow at some point.

uncle came over his son (who is lovely) and his wife - she wanted to see the apartment bc she wants to buy something there  dd younger made a lovely charcuterie board and both dd's cleaned the house top to bottom to welcome them. woman never said hello - no introductions - uncle wanted to show her the condo. They stayed 15 minutes after all the hoopla.

mom - oh my - mom started to angrily insist on taking her beautifully clean cloths and started stacking them in a high pile (she had earlier helped me separate her pants, sweaters etc. - she wanted a bag to put her cloths in. She said that's why I don't have any cloths when she was looking for them today - I took them. she was going to go home. it's funny how these moments pop up so fast after normal behavior. it is not on purpose but it shows it can happen anywhere at anytime. thank goodness I have been through this before.

I heard DD13 talking & laughing. I checked to see who she was talking to and how. Google Meet on the laptop is how she is continuing to talk with friends until her phone gets here. I'm glad she found a way to continue to stay in contact with friends daily. It isn't unusual for her to talk for hours with friends.

The bacon wrapped shrimp was as good as DBro said. Excellent.

Final update and then bed.

I won't be able to stay up until the New Year in Brazil, let alone Canada (first NY moment here is at 10:30.)

[ X ] inflate dgs3.5 mattress fully and tidy his room His visit has been cancelled.
[ X ] do year-end payroll
[ X ] pay bills
[ X ] make up grocery list (not much aside from cream soup)
[ ] blood work (if it works out, it can wait until Thursday)
[ X ] go to bank, deposit cheques
[ X ] go to grocery store
[ X ] tidy a bit more
[ ] wash kitchen floor
[ X ] load of laundry
[ X ] Offer on Buy Nothing and pick new owner of my Xmas tree storage bag (I ended up with 7 people to choose from.)

I finished the book I was reading and did the clean up after dinner. Dh and I spent a long time with dd's godparents. We hope to get there on Sunday but it depends on if I can convince dd to move dgd's birthday (observed - she'll be landing in England on the morning of her 8th birthday.)

Happy New Year!
