Re: First Saturday's Special January Preparations
Oh, can't get it out of my mind, now. Always liked that boppy tune, though, so it is the fault of years of liking, not just hearing today. Something about it being boppy while complaining about real stuff. It speaks to you.
blessed, hurray for an ordinary change of clothes for those for whom you are caregiving. Your dmother is a card.
Nancy, you are so colorful today - I didn't know the checkmarks would do that now. We have more color.
Mystery, such a delight when your child has a successful drama production - everyone is so happy together. Enjoy Mt. Washmore and just think of yourself as so young still, having a seeing-pink moment. Sounds like you have an ordinary reason. Ordinary is good.
I'm starting to get that unfortunate taste in my mouth again. blessed, it's not metal-tasting yet, but it went in that direction before so yes, I know that taste. I read to start using all plastic utensils and it will help, so I'm going to try that this round. Also remembering no coffee during this time (my rule) because it seems to make it worse.
Had a chat with dbrotheril who is sick as a puppy with something that's not Covid and not his allergies. He'll go to dr this afternoon. His wife already went and was given antibiotic but no clear diagnosis. It helped her, though. So, something is going around, yes. He is Dad to the child I called "my baby-niece" here, who is now nearly high school age. yipes, how does this happen. I remember when I chatted here about making her a toddler quilt.
Dd44 is away all day taking DangerBoy back to college. We gave him a twenty dollar bill for no reason. I was chatting asking about whether he has good shoes/boots and thick socks for all the walking he does there as our weather turns. Just got to thinking about whether an extra 20 would help at Tarjay (he can walk there) and the answer kept coming to my brain yes. HRH laughed at me because we know the child is fine. Just "what ifs" in my head. He's so far away.

Re: First Saturday's Special January Preparations
Oh my goodness - she, mom, is a card!!! She is also a stinker - she knows how to get to others- too smart!!! - dd's say she must have been a pistol to her siblings.
spoke to dd's this morning - they are having so much fun! They love old home museums and went to Thomas Edison's and Fords winter homes - they go when dd older is visiting dd younger. The other day they picked up oranges from the orange farm and is sending us some. Today they are going to 3rd street in Naples.
I have cherry tomatoes roasting, olive oil, s/p/thyme in the oven for bruschetta with goat cheese and basil for lunch. - it was good - a little cream cheese mixed with some herb goat cheese - on toasted garlic rubbed/a little olive oil brushed on left over French bread - topped with roasted tomatoes and basil. 3 like that and 3 with mozzarella -- I didn't know if mom would eat it. - she ate three. I was surprised.
d rose I remember the Tennessee Williams song. I didn't know that Johnny cash did that as well, d Nancy

Re: First Saturday's Special January Preparations
Play is done. I went along with DH and DD. The play was short enough that it didn’t make sense to drive home after dropping off DD. Now, DD and DH are in Tarjay so DD can get something for her aftercare kids. This puts us maybe half a mile from the restaurant where the play cast is celebrating. The idea is that we can pick DC up when we are done here. I think we will have some thumb-twiddling time, though.
We saw a Hawaii license plate on the way here! This means we stand a chance of getting all 50 states this year!
So brilliant of Nancy to discover that we can use emojis here and not just bbcode!
blessed, that bruschetta has me salivating just to read about it! Maybe you can send some to Harriet to keep her appetite up!

Re: First Saturday's Special January Preparations
it's been a busy day here - I received two more shelves that go on an old old container store elfa system - I wasn't going to but the other things were messy and didn't work; as well as, that I heard container store might be going into chapter 13.
Glad I bought them. it looks clean and organized.
mom washed the Rowe type blue pottery that goes back on the mantel. She placed them back where they look nice again.
I washed my canning lids/rims and mom dried them. all nicely put away. I am pleasantly pleased that she was busy - for awhile she was going in circles on her through process and actions and once I asked her to put her laundry in the dryer she turned around for the better.
I have to make dinner.

I've been playing with genealogy this afternoon, down a rabbit hole that doesn't have anything to do with "my" genealogy. Lots I "should" be doing but I haven't been doing it.

Re: First Saturday's Special January Preparations
Nap & knitted on a blue and pink baby blanket.
Got prep. done for biscuits & gravy I've been wanting for a while with brown gravy.
Biscuits are about done. Did kitchen clean up.
Cooking is way more joyful when the kitchen is clean!
Got some outside stuff done bagged up a kitchen size ish bag of leaves out of & around the trailer to go out
on trash day. Picked up after ddoggo in the back yard too. Walked to both corners to get my steps in for today.
Clean inside of microwave. x
Worked on my writing after lunch some more.
Listening to Diane in Denmark while prepping dinner & doing clean up afterwards.
