First Monday of the year PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

And the start of the first "normal" week of the year. This is when we can get back into routines, secure in the knowledge that we won't have a holiday stuck in the middle of the week to distract us!

What will you do with your "normal" Monday and "normal" week coming up?

Thank you for the marvelous Monday start Twins' Mom!

I plan on going to the Monday morning sit and talk  stitch group but we had a tiny bit of snow last night and my Fbook is filled with reports of accidents due to black ice. So I am sitting a waiting to see if one of my friends is either going or staying home.

No idea what is for supper.

I slept somewhat normally last night. That was the result of just making myself stay up yesterday. Two of the kids came, and then a cheery-up conversation on the phone when my dcousin Mary called me. She is a jewel. We laughed and chatted so long that I felt "up" long after her call.

Today I'm a puffy person, so water weight is affecting strangely. But I'm going to eat to address that, and hopefully it will be temporary.

Cathy, safety first. I hope you do get out to enjoy stitching, though.

I'm a little worried about road conditions tomorrow morning when HRH and I have to leave for the dr's appt. Today we have a "wintry mix" and that's not good for tomorrow morning's plans. Not black ice, I doubt, but you never know. It will melt some today, they think, but that's not always good.

During the "heat" of the day (smile) we may decide to get a grocery order in. Thinking about that. It's not that there isn't enough to eat here, it's just that some of it turns me away, tummy-wise. And we shouldn't try groceries tomorrow.

Normal is happening at our home too. The first 2 hours of my day were busy but mostly smooth.
DD13 to public school
DS16 homeschool assignments are planned and on his calendar.

Tomas (Border Collie Poodle) got out of the fenced back yard AGAIN! This is the 3rd time in two days. We have walked and visually checked the back yard fence multiple times and cannot find how he is getting out. Our best guess is he is climbing the 5-foot fence and going over the top.
Hum....the dog yards are the only outside place that doesn't have cameras covering it. We have never had a need to record that area. The motion from the dogs would cause constant recordings so it would be hours of video every day. However, now I am rethinking that decision. I could add a permanent camera there or maybe just move one of the portable cameras until we discover how Tomas is getting out.

Nothing normal abt my day as I am still not feeling myself. Just no energy nor desire to eat.

Yesterday I took all my Cmas decorations down and repacked everything. I have three garbage bags filled with Cmas decorations, all in excellent condition along with a banker box filled with ornaments I no longer want. I am taking them to GW, but first want to go through my antique hope chest in my garage. I have several Christmas table clothes I no longer use and want to donate them as well.

I am slowly getting my house back in order. Have another load of laundry going with one more after that is finished. I’m just tired. I work a little and then rest…repeat, repeat, repeat

Watched a really good true life move on Netflix…Number 24 abt the most decorated Norwegian man from WW11. Worth your time if you’re interested in that sort of thing. Same with 6888

I made out two cards today.
Got my QT stuff done & journals & planning.
I have class maybe more than one so that will be a focus in a bit.
I need to get dressed before nine.

No class on so I can get dressed now and do some thing else.
Did my AM kitchen stuff after my bfast.
Waving to all of you that follow!

So sorry you're still feeling poorly, RR.

Bw2, I hope your vet visits go better than ours do! Gracie, be a good girl!

What classes are you doing today, Nancy?

Normal is good, LadyM! Yes, I hope you can get to the bottom of Thomas's escapes. I bet he is going over, too. Several of our dogs could have probably done five feet if they thought about it.

Great to see you Dove! Glad your getting Christmas decorations down.

And happy to see Harriet this morning, after a night of sleep. Lovely to talk to cousin Mary, too, good for your spirits.

I hope Cathy is able to get out, if she decides that's what she wants to do. I'd probably take it as a signal to stay in, but then I don't want to go anywhere.

I talked to dd for awhile this a.m. We hadn't talked in a while, so I'm caught up here. When things are going well with her I don't hear from her as often.

I think we're going out to eat tonight so no cooking OMM today.

I'm trying to decide what the rest of the day looks like. I need to go by the temple and to the bank for the sole Overlook check collected so far. An elderly neighbor wanted to write the check, but told me after she dropped it off that she wanted me to deposit it as quickly as possible because her dh was trying to reconcile his account. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the HOA dues. If I could get our account approved for "outgoing" payments, meaning getting the dollars back into our account, I'd gross up the invoices 3% for fees and send them from the website. I could let neighbors know to deduct the extra if they're paying by a check. The support person on Friday assured me it would approved within 24 hours and it's been more than that. It would mean I wouldn't have multiple trips to the bank for deposits, and $$ would come in faster. Is it worth contacting support again?

Right now I'm doing the three HOA checks that need to be written.

I went and made it back home safely. I had to clean the ice off of my car windows before I left home and then again to get home. I intend on staying home for the rest of the day. Maybe tomorrow as well. I don't know about the rest of the week.

We are having sausages tonight. "German style" as it says on the package.

Everyone (all three of us) was cross stitching this morning. We were also doing a lot of talking.
