Snow! Snow! Snow! Friday PWYC
(Apologies to those in the north)
I hear Bing and Rosemary in the background telling us about the Snow! Snow! Snow! This is the first time we've seen much in several years.
Where it's snowing
All winter through
That's where I want to be
Snowball throwing
That's what I'll do
How I'm longing to ski
Through the snow-oh-oh-oh-oh
What are you doing today if you're not watching snow? Sorry to be focused on Snow! Snow! Snow!

I agree we must seem slightly ridiculous to those who are used to dealing with snow.(Apologies to those in the north)
We have nothing on the calendar today and have no requirements to go anywhere.
Tomorrow we will return to normal weather. Tomorrow is 52F and sunny. The snow will just be a memory then.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Enjoy your fleeting snow, LadyM!
According to our radio, Twins was to get more than you (I heard up to 8" but not sure where in her state.)
Sunny, but really cold day here. Again. The view is lovely.
Ds texted this morning that he doesn't need us to accept delivery for him this afternoon so that freed up 5 hours in our day. So I've just wasted an hour of that watching Youtube. Sigh....
Desk work is my challenge of the day.
Tummy is a bit twingy but not as bad. Took my meds before my stretches and then discovered my tummy making itself known as I made my tea. Ate a pile of crackers at that point and, as I said, it is not too bad right now. So I suppose my body is getting used to the new meds fairly quickly.
Off to s2s and then come up with a plan for the day.

Re: Snow! Snow! Snow! Friday PWYC
I was up around 7 and was able to see the sky in the east as it got very bright orange/red. It isn't very cloudy here today, nor is it snowing. Just C-c-c-cold!!
The youngest cat was very impatient to get out, but made a beeline for the door when I opened it to let her back in. She hasn't asked to go back out, which isn't usual. She is curled up in the library on my chair.
Dh has said he is going to the grocery store to get some salmon for supper tonight. I need to get to Costco at some point soon to pick up something for dh. I also need to go get his meds that are waiting at the pharmacy near where I go to knitting this afternoon.

Re: Snow! Snow! Snow! Friday PWYC
The last forecast for this area was for 2 - 4 inches. We're within the city and doesn't look to me like we'll get beyond a couple of inches. It's a fairly fine snow that is not accumulating quickly. It's due to turn to freezing rain and wintry mix later in the day. For now, all is shut down here.
DD called to see if we're having snow and we talked quite a long time. Some about her work, some about temple, some just in general. I took a pic for her of the view from our front porch; the little boy across the street was out for a minute in what looked like pajamas and a robe, snow boots and mittens!
Dh even stayed home today. HIs Rotary meeting was cancelled, and he said no one was coming to the office today. So the talking heads of CNBC are going today.
So I'm still in pajamas, having a wonderful snow day. Dh has walked dog, and I'm not sure she wants to go back out! She's snoozing away as long as I don't indicate I'm heading somewhere.
Oops, then she indicated she wanted out the back, she rethought and snoozed on the couch outside a bit.

Re: Snow! Snow! Snow! Friday PWYC
I was going to travel to IL (~ 6 hour drive down) to visit my mom today, but I've postponed to tomorrow bc of snow along the entire route. I drive by myself, which makes it even more risky. I'll return on Monday, which I can do since I don't have a class on Monday. The bnb owner was very friendly and kind about switching my dates.
Once again, I have nothing on my calendar! I'm not doing super well with my extra time, though I am enjoying it; I finished a 1000K piece jigsaw puzzle yesterday! Does that count as an accomplishment? I worked on it over 3 days. LOL! I also met with my personal trainer, made progress on GGT project for payroll, made progress on processing the guest bedding from the holidays (3 beds worth), got clean sheets on our bed, and went to another city with dh for dinner out with MZ, the young woman, dd29's friend, who lived with us for about 9 months several years ago while she was looking for a job after graduating from UM.
Things I'd like to do today: finish the GGT project for payroll, go for a jog (if I go around 1-2 pm, the temps will be higher ~ 24*F and the snow will not/ may have just started --> the path won't be too slippery yet), call the NH - I have some questions re: my mom, get a package to BP - if possible. Also finishing washing and putting away the guest bedding would be great - and starting to pack. I think dinner will be from the freezer, a leftover main I froze.

Re: Snow! Snow! Snow! Friday PWYC
Hey, all! Wrote a post yesterday and lost it. It continues to be cold here. I think we’re expecting snow, but I can’t remember how much. DH is happy that the Scouts will have snow for their Klondike event and not mud.
I was hoping to get flu/Covid shots for the family tonight, but DH has plans to go to the hockey game. Numbers are up around here, and I’ve been putting off getting shots for too long. So I will see if the drugstore has openings for Sunday. DD has D&D Sunday afternoons, though. As for the hockey game, I don’t know if he’ll ask me to go along or if he has plans for taking one of the kids. I kind of avoid going a lot of the time. It should be easier with the hang tag — we can park near the door — but it’s still a steep (for me, anyway) descent to the seats, which are about 15 rows down from the concourse.
Not ridiculous at all, LadyM! When we have the first snow of the season here, the roads are often crazy, and that’s with snow plows and salt trucks at the ready. People just forget how to drive in it. It’s got to be rough when folks have neither the experience nor the equipment to deal with it.
Waving to helia — long time no see! We seldom seem to get here on the same days.
Here’s hoping that Harriet is getting through the day OK.
I should make those appointments now, then attack the laundry.

Re: Snow! Snow! Snow! Friday PWYC
I thought of that movie when I saw the topic, Twins'. Right after I thought "no, no, no". If something happens with wintry mix and we lose electricity, Ah oh. Not good. Ds is going to go by pharmacy 1 for us on his way home. He doesn't think things will be as bad as has been thought, and he's the one who has to keep up, so I hope he's right, with apologies to the grands about snow. It is the nausea med I need so much, so I really do need him to do this - very helpful.
I wore myself out cooking this morning, the same amount i did without much effort a few days back. Today I really made a mistake tackling too much. I laid down before eating, then, and fell asleep a bit. Had to microwave all. These days in the middle between treatments are bad.
Kathryn is right I should have scarf and hat always. My stars it's cold.
helia, is has been nice to see your posts. Sorry you won't make the trip to your mother, but safety first.
Missing bittersweet. I hope the weather is not too severe for her household.

Re: Snow! Snow! Snow! Friday PWYC
Morning…
Had my stitches removed yesterday and had the wounds covered with butterfly stitches. Was told not to remove them and let them fall off with time.
Still not 100% yet. Sinuses are giving me a fit. Toying with going to the drs but really don’t want to go.
I spent a good part of yesterday at the drs office and then came home and had a nap. Forgot about doing laundry so that’s my focus for the day.
We are experiencing cold weather for our area … highs in the 50’s, but you know me, I’m loving it. This morning it was 68* in the house and we haven’t turned on the heat. Great sleeping weather! I have an electric blanket on our bed. I turn my side on high to warm it up before I go to bed and then turn it off when I get snuggled in to sleep. I keep a throw on top of it because I like having the weight.
Waving to y’all!
