Time to try Plan C.
Situation - 2 people in same room. DH enjoys watching big screen TV. I'm not a fan of TV. When i watch a show, it is online on my laptop. I use headphones to listen. I grow tired of mentally blocking out the sound of TV every hour of the day.

Plan A is DH listening to TV through normal factory speakers.
Plan B is DH wearing headphones when watching TV. I got to experience silence, and he got to have sound as loud as he wanted. But now DH has an earache. From wearing the headphones? Maybe. Regardless headphone usage is limited until earache is gone.
Plan C is external speakers that will be placed next to DH chair. Speakers located a foot away from his ears. Will it be better than speakers located across the room? We will find out. Speakers are on order now.

(LM) Been there Had to have a talk with LH before retirement about my need for quiet.

I have been doing rounds on the spare room while I listened to a decluttering podcast.
Got some progress and glad for that a couple trips to the basement where I
relocated craft paint and empty photo boxes.
Had to take a break for lunch as bc tanked.
Other wicker baskets and jars are in the staging area in the shed.
Taking a breather now before the next stack of items get out to the shed for now.
I would actually like em in the smaller shed in the yard but the door sticks so that can wait.

I cleared out 2 or 3 drawers plus a stack of stuff I knew was not working for this project yea!

Thank you sooo much, blessed, for those words from Emerson. I'm going to have to print that out and put it on my bathroom mirror! (I used to have it, actually, but I don't think I had the whole thing. "that every day is the best day of the year" is really something I need to keep in mind. I do feel a bit calmer today. Thank you, (((Blessed))).

I had a super hard night last night, and finally realized I had not done my daily Bible reading first thing, like I usually do, and when I went to "catch up" -- the passage was the verse from Lamentations -- "His mercies are new every morning, great is Thy faithfulness." And then several other readings jumping out at me saying "fear not," "I will strengthen you." etc... Obviously the Lord is TRYING to get my attention and tell me to trust Him.
I've decided I am not going to take my Christmas tree down until I get good results back from the biopsy. That will be my leap of faith. Of course, if the results aren't what I am asking for... tree might be up all year. But the lights cheer me up.

I have actually been productive today! Colored my hair, and FINALLY sliced the ham. Took some to dmom, and DS is supposed to come by and get some tonight.
DGD went home around lunch time and dgs has been with me since then.
DDIL is coming home after being at work since Thursday night. She said she will get overtime pay; she was concerned about that since she has become a "salary" worker, not an "hourly" worker.

I checked for that Hollywood sign also! Saw what Kathryn was talking about. DGS says there is an NFL game supposed to be played somewhere near Los Angeles tonight. I was surprised to see that they were still playing, but he says they are. The way these fires keep popping up at different sites, it seems no place would really feel safe at this point.

Ditto, LadyM --
I love this group. Knowing you makes me better.
Sooo, sooo true.

(((Harriet))) Glad your DS and family enjoyed the day and made some memories. Sorry about the memories dsil will have! My goodness. I didn't mind one bit staying home all day yesterday, but today I did get out and drive to ds' house, town, and to dmom's. All the roads I traveled were clear, but there were a few spots that were shaded and still wet. I would not want to be on those spots after dark. It was 40 degrees when we went out, but it is going down to 19 tonight! Our church is cancelled tomorrow; pastor put that she would have a sermon on Facebook in the morning.
Sorry about your dmil's fall!!! I hope her daughter is able to get some help from the social services people.

DGS and I have eaten a very late lunch/early supper? I don't know what to call it, but I bet he'll be hungry again before long. We are NOT going back out tonight, however, so he can eat something we have here.
I'm getting sleepy now, after eating, plus DGS had me up earlier than my choice would have been. ;)
Tomorrow is another day.

LadyM … I wear head phones for tv when I watch in our bedroom. When my ear starts to hurt, I slide that part of the headphone off of my ear and let it rest. I can still hear will with just the one ear covered. And sometimes I take them off the top of my head and place the holder on the back of my head. Also you can find all sorts of comfortable head speakers on Amazon. Look for pillow speakers. I love those when iwant to listen to stories on my phone. You might find sketching useful there.
