I have not been productive today. I spent most of the time between breakfast and lunch looking through the three cookbooks I got for Christmas. DH got me a vegan cookbook, meaning to get a vegetarian one. I’m looking through there for recipes I can use or adapt. DC is allergic to tree nuts, and DH is allergic to most legumes/pulses, including soy. (He can tolerate soy in small amounts, but something featuring tofu is not going to work for him.) He also got me a cookbook for cooking in cast iron. That may be a little more useful. Dfriend K got me a Ticket to Ride cookbook. We often enjoy playing Ticket to Ride with them, and DH has, I think, all the variations they don’t have. So she thought I should have the cookbook. It’s an interesting read — it has menus based on the various train routes — but as for cooking, oh boy! Most of the recipes are pretty complex; several of them require specialized equipment. I don’t have a pizza stone, a smoker, or a sous vide machine. It does look like there are some recipes for some snacks we could make for a game night, though.
I’m sorry you will have to redo your long trip to the doctor, LadyM, but I have to chuckle wondering how long that grocery trip will withstand the nightly snack runs.
Glad the package has been found, Harriet. I wonder if the people at the other end called the carrier.
…and DC has gotten me distracted with one of their shows.
