Thursday, half-way through January PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Oops. We're half-way through January. How did this happen and where have we been?

Assess. Is this where you expected to be? On track? Exceeding expectations?

Wow, that's sobering news, Twins!

I had such great plans for this month!

Edit: Thanks for the spur that the month is getting away from me. I just booked a physio appointment for this afternoon at a new place that has handy parking, I decided that I didn't want to go back to my old place, it is a 15 minute walk and has limited parking, plus winter makes both walking and parking more difficult. This place is in an indoor mall that also has lots of stores I use regularly. And was recommended by a neighbour.

Good morning!

Hmm, Twins, I’d have to say I’m a bit behind where I’d like to be but a bit ahead of where I actually thought I’d be. ;)

Today’s PODA is a busy one. I’m currently sitting in a gas station restaurant killing time before picking DC up from class. After a stomach-churning drive in, I decided I was not going to go home and go back. With the roads slow, I’d probably have had only :15 or :20 at home before I had to turn around, anyway. Once we get home, I’ll have a little more than an hour before I have to head out for my semi-annual hoo-ha inspection. Here’s hoping all goes well, or I’ll end up in lucylee’s boat. After I get home from that, I’ll have some time to have lunch before taking DD to work, and then about half an hour before my virtual appointment with the nutritionist. Phew! Hopefully, the evening will be a little more relaxed.

I have finished my cocoa (while listening to the ‘80s jam they have going on; I’ve been able to identify most of the songs before the first word :D ). I’m going to grab a bottle of washer fluid before I head back over to get DC. Have a lovely day, everyone!

Hi!

I slept until 6. Got up to go to the bathroom. I closed the bedroom door when I went back to bed and woke up again at 8. I heard a garbage truck rumbling down the road, so I hurried to get dressed and get the recycling out. Thankfully the truck wasn't on our street, which goes north/south, but on the east/west one just south of our house. So now all the compost/garbage and recycling is out and waiting to be picked up.

I have taken all the Christmas decorations down. I've also taken a load to the thrift store and I've completely sorted my jewelry. I've made a major dent in the clutter in the library to get it back to being a sanctuary type of room. I read somewhere that we all need somewhere in our home, even if it is just a closet sized space to make our sanctuary where we can relax even if it's just for 2 minutes. Therefore, I think I'm where I want to be at this point in the month.

Good morning

January is half over?! WOW

My day is off to a good start.
** DD13 to school. She is giving a presentation today and has butterflies in stomach about getting in front of everyone.
** DS16 fed, chatted about today's plans and launched to work.
** Morning Mile accomplished. DGS29 and I are doing a daily text TAKE CARE OF MYSELF challenge to keep us accountable. No rules other than sending a picture showing how we took care of yourself today. I sent him a picture of me walking all bundled up.
** Tuna/Egg salad made. 3 cans tuna, 7 hard boiled eggs, and other fixings.
** Breakfast made for DH and myself. 3 proteins, eggs. I didn't realize until I started cooking breakfast that we are out of baked potatoes. I shred those baked potatoes every morning to make Obrien style hash browns. I missed them today and will make it a priority to fill instant pot with potatoes to help in restocking the ready-to-eat foods.

Morning quickie…

After feeling off for a long time I am finally feeling my self. I found a prescription of prednisone that I had t taken for some reason. I thought I might have a lingering sinus infection so started taking it three days ago. Must have been right as my sinuses and constant headache … different from a migraine… we’re making days miserable.

Today is laundry day. I totally striped the bed and my mattress pad and Sweeties pillow are being washed. Already have an other load in the drier. I did a deep cleaning of my kitchen and filled my two week vitamin trays.

Next up:
Shower… I cut 4 inches of my hair and love the results so am looking forwards to fixing it
Einstein… need to clean him and set him free.
Continue laundry… I want to wash my kitchen rugs so imagine I’ll be washing for a while.
Grocery store… the pantry and fridge are bare
Desk work and maybe a trip down the rabbit hole

Mystery … thanks for the link. We are lucky as Sweetie is still “with it” in many ways and we have had many interesting conversations along the way. One of the first questions I had for him was if he was scared of what was happening to him. He said no..he said it just frustration that he has trouble finding words and communicate thoughts at times for me. All of the chores and self health care he has always done he is still doing including paying our bills. He has always had a very structured daily schedule for as long as we’ve been together and he credits that to the way he functions today. His PA agrees.

Rrose I Had that sinus head ache up at 4 today again.
They are burning in the mtns. slag piles of brush could be the cause.
Got a lot done so that's good.
Laundry is done.
Sewed a seam made another market bags in orange I put in the fall tote.
sigh found two three more containers of paper work to go through.
One of warrenties, two of old files. It was disheartening as I thought I had finished.
I did decide to do regular weekly stuff like the floors this morning glad for that progress.
The sun is shinning so that is great on this frosty morning.
Looked up pet grooming glove will give them a try has any one here used them?

I'm dressed for the day and then ate because I was hungry. Read some of my book while I ate, then spent time making up a grocery list with multiple stops since I'll be out with the car. Must remember to take the cart downstairs with me when I go to the car.

My bangs are bugging me so I finally got around to making a hair appointment. Haven't been for about 3 months and decided to clean up my look before I go away.

While getting dressed I pulled out some clothes for the trip and started a pile. I have 9 days before we leave but decided to get a start on that. Need to check with dh about which 'matching' outfit I should bring with me for the retirement party we are going to before my vacation can begin. He'll be wearing one of his African shirts so I need to figure out which of my matching skirts to bring.

Wrote some emails and put my phone in the new case that arrived today. It has the same problem as the old case so it must be a flaw in the design not the case. I feel bad returning a case that wasn't defective except the new case is exactly the same except for the exterior box and sells for $20 less. When I say exactly the same, same manual, same stickers, same accessory kit (so I moved the unopened accessory kit over to the one being returned.) I like the case well enough but the bubble feels weird and affects some entries.

For now, I'll live with it and if I'm going insane, buy yet another case for it that isn't as dust/water/shock proof. Who knows, maybe I'll suddenly stop dropping my phone all the time!
