Step Back To See the Big Picture Saturday
Time to breathe, maybe? To step back and say, "okay, what am I missing", or "what did I mean to include", or "how can I join others to get some household hopes and dreams accomplished" ?
Saturdays offer us that different "take" on our weeks. We're less likely to have a rushed day that others have scheduled for us.
How will you be using your weekend to breathe, to step back and remember your priorities? What can you do this weekend that will smooth your way through next week, and the next.

Re: Step Back To See the Big Picture Saturday
I hopped up and bought a batch of inexpensive cotton "bucket hats" (or fishing hats) this morning in a lot of colors, one of them denim. I need something to grab like I grab my glasses every morning or after a nap - instant and okay, when there isn't yet time for styling (or, in the case of knit hats), without looking tight, feeling hot. I came to this conclusion late last night after studying a catalog for folks like me, comparing how different hats might help/look. By this morning, I was ready to get some. Cotton - fabric of our lives, that sort of thing. And from that catalog of specialty items (from which I have not purchased yet), you could get little bangs or fluffs of hair for the temples, to sew into a hat if you really felt it was too airy or plain.
My "big picture" thoughts can now be considered, in one way, as 3 months and then freedom. In mid-April, I'll still need the bucket hat (smile) and I won't be free of testing, but no more nausea, and strength can start coming back.
I have a hopeful 3 x 5 of different small chores around here for today.
Thinking we'll have a visit from dstepson.
The small part of dd44's present is due today, so I hope to wrap that gift today.
Have an idea for a "chicken" salad with grapes that I think will make it taste better.
On the kitchen table front - HRH ordered one! (happy puppy dance) Very sturdy, should last a lifetime - whatever, I just want a table instead of other pieces of furniture pressed into service. In fairness he "hit the button" before on a purchase but was stopped by that company's significant problems, and I agreed with him to give up on that one.
This keeps getting delayed - Tobias is in very active hunt mode. I guess the mice have been listening to the forecast and have come camping here.

Re: Step Back To See the Big Picture Saturday
Thank you for the special reminder to start our day Harriet. Spring is coming! Stepping back to see the big picture can be doable here today.
I have been so focused on one room and one outcome that I need to see the rest of the house. When I woke up before 6 this morning, I decided that NOW would be the perfect time to mop all the floors other than the bedroom. Not only did I mop the floors once, I went back and did 2 of them over again. I might even do the floor in the library again just because I can.
There is a curling tournament on tv today, so I will take advantage of that and sit with dh and stitch.
I have been going through some old wooden boxes that I keep sewing stuff in. One has thread on wooden spools, another has specialty needles, like darning and curved ones to repair material on furniture, etc. These boxes aren't very big, but they contain small things nicely. I have one more box to go. The box that nicely hides sewing scissors. There are pinking shears in that box as well.
Dh is awake. Time for coffee and hot tea.

Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Re: Step Back To See the Big Picture Saturday
Morning…
I look forward to Saturdays so I can sleep in a bit
Up, had my coffee and vitamins and off to start my morning routines. Usually I don’t leave dishes in the sink over night, but we needed to leave right after dinner for our event so they are waiting my attention.
Music playing…. next up
Make bed
Get dressed
Clean kitchen
Give Enistien some attention
Desk work… filing, ugh
Exercise
Watch football play offs
Waving to y’all… see ya later!

Re: Step Back To See the Big Picture Saturday
Cleaned the little bathroom. Big achievement? No, but hey, it's done when I expected and that's a victory. HRH has bought another bottle of Pine Sol and insists we should keep one in there for convenience. Sigh. I'm going to have to hide it after a while and hope he forgets. There is no cabinet. So ... ..
Is it a decoration? lol.
Posted my UFOs in A, C and N thread. Nekkid procrastination, plus the plans to get it all clothed, lol.
Brunch, all my meds done and on track. It's gotten so that takes thinking power.
Cathy, one of the gifts we are giving dd44 for her bday is a little pair of nice embroidery scissors and a sheath for them.

Taking a break…
Einstein I merrily working away. Spent time making sure everything, wires, paper and things like waste paper baskets and such are off the floor first. That meant everything I had by the front door for GW needed to find its way to the trunk of my car.
Did plant care and a few other things I spotted that seeds to be done. Now it’s into the office I must go. Will put on some good music and start working left to right in the room. I have a few things in there I want to find homes for.
As much as I dread this, I know I will be much happier one my office is back into shape. I just have a mountain of paper work that needs to be filed.
Hi ho Einstein it’s off to work he goes
