Good for you, Nancy, on getting those steps in AND learning the new tv! (Somehow, I have managed to get over 5000 again, for today, and I haven't done my exercise either.) It's bad you had to wake up so early with so much stuff on your mind.
LadyM, I was just now embarrassed at how DUSTY my house has gotten while I wasn't paying attention. I just now dusted the den & dining room, and I swear, the Swiffer was completely full of dust after just that one area!
It is REALLY going to be expensive if I become a consistent housekeeper and have to use a different Swiffer pad for every room of the house! It is so convenient, so much easier than a cloth and spray... but definitely more expensive. 
I wish I knew something to tell you that would help with DD. I don't think it was so terrible that you told her her teeth were gross -- I mean, it WAS something she could fix in less than 5 minutes. My dgs12, you know, is on the spectrum, and he could go for days without showering, but he doesn't put up any fuss when he is told to shower, and he showers daily for school. He might skip a night or two when school's out -- during Christmas I realized he had not taken off the clothes he had worn to school on Thursday and it was SATURDAY. He had slept in them and worn them all day for three days! But he had seen no one except immediate family and grandparents. I remember when he was pretty little, after he had his bath I said, "Now don't you feel better now that you're all clean?" He said, "I feel good, but I felt good when I was dirty too." DGD9 will skip baths occasionally, but she's pretty good about taking hers -- of course, if she's at my house, she still wants ME to bathe her! I accused her of thinking she was a princess and I was her servant. But I figure these days will end soon enough. She is already into make-up, so I suspect she will be very body-conscious as she gets older.
Blessed -- maybe you won't get a recall on the mammogram! Think positive! Sorry you and your dd had rough nights too. Maybe it's the planets being in alignment? There's something in the newspaper about 6 planets being in an unusual pattern this month. I'm just kidding, but this is true about the planets. I just downloaded an app so maybe I can find them. They are supposed to be in the Southern sky, some to the SW, some to the SE. I know very little about the stars. Everything looks like the Little Dipper to me.
(((HUGS))) for patience with your dmom, too! Twins -- hope y'all have a good trip! Surely you will be far enough south that you will have warm weather! Someone at church tonight said they had snow as far as Tallahassee! This is the strangest weather ever... We got that TVA notice too. I went ahead and dried my clothes in the night, though. I figured, aside from heat, how many people were running appliances at midnight? It certainly feels good to have all that laundry done! I had almost two weeks piled up.
Harriet -- yes, echoing Mystery about your heat, and sending lots of good wishes for easy travel tomorrow! (((HUGS))) And Happy Birthday to DD! I second Rose's suggestion about crackers. Coke is also my drink of choice, even Diet Coke, but ginger ale is supposed to be especially good for upset stomach.
Rose -- we actually tried the potato once with a light in a ceiling fan, and the men at the hardware store said the same thing. I may try that myself before I give up. Need to put potato on my grocery list...
BTW -- at church, I was talking to the ladies, one of whom works in the radiology dept, and she said the doctor who was going to do my biopsy was really good. She also told me that she had a friend who had a uterine biopsy and when they wanted her to come back for another, she said NO WAY would she do that again without anesthesia, so I'm feeling much better about the doctor suggesting I do it this way. I don't want to be put to sleep, but I definitely don't want to be tortured. Y'all, most gynecological equipment really seems like torture devices. There should be a better way.
I also took all the Christmas cards and dh's stocking down from the mantle. Tree is still up, and there's a chair with teddy bears in it. The Nativity scenes are still up, and the snow village. Dining room table is still full of all the stuff. Oh -- and snowmen are still on the china cabinet. AND snowmen scene dh painted in his childhood is still hanging on the wall. I think the snow things will stay up at least till Mardi Gras. I mean, we could have more actual SNOW. I changed Christmas placemats to snowmen placemats. BUT... this tree... if it's going to be MARCH before I get the good results... I'm sorta re-thinking my plan to leave it up as a sign of faith. Ladies in class tonight told me to decorate it for Valentine's Day, and then Mardi Gras, and whatever. (That's what my mom is doing now too.)
OH -- let me share a good thing -- one of the ladies in my Wed. night class told me tonight that I should lead the next session. We finished our study of Philippians tonight. I don't know what we will do next -- we're waiting for the pastor to tell us, and she may come back as our teacher for the next series. I have really enjoyed this study, and I will be just as happy whether I'm the teacher or not, but it's nice that she would say that. I sometimes worry that I share too much and talk too much, but I have tried to make sure I waited for them to have time to think and answer and share their thoughts also.
Looks like our schools are back to normal hours tomorrow. Some in our area are still doing 2-hour delays.
