saw this word today: I like it - Apricity means “the warmth of the sun in winter.”

bathroom door guy came - now I am waiting for a guesstimate
nice guy

have the plumber here - I need to pick up a bathroom sink faucet and shower head
he will put them in later

he cleaned out the tub that kept over flowing - he found the problem $336.00

mom told me she loves to see me get frustrated and smiled  8-) I had to make her wash her hands bc instead of spraying her pants and top with spot removal spray. -she sprayed her hands - I insisted on that one. (she will not change her dirty cloths until "she wants to" - but I am walking away from the clothes right now! )

she is talking to me about the new cloths I had put out earlier - "maybe I will change into these bc I have spots on my cloths" then walks away.

dh had crumbs all over his face and while he cleaned his dish I mentioned that there were crumbs on his face - I got a look - thinking I would go on with it but nope walked away.

I only have 3 more items on my to-do list for today.
** Potatoes scrubbed and into the instant pot
** prepare Micro food
** Declutter something. Today declutter project will be DS16 shoes. I have collected a tub of DS16 shoes and had him go through them to pull out any that he wants to keep. Many of the shoes are high quality and are still in good shape but there isn't a big demand for size 14 & 15 mens shoes. Hum....considering my options. One direction or another, they will be leaving our home.

Harriet - you are in my thoughts and prayers for your safe travel to/from and medical appt.

LM / Some towns have resale shoes in good shape.

For some self care I watched the show I had recorded not sure how that happened but I enjoyed it knitted some too.
Did some journaling current now on those.
Lunch was accomplished slightly burnt s.p. fry / tot scrumptious anyway with slice of home made bread and cream cheese.
We have walked.
Hydrating & resting.
Saw two deer on our walk.

Later;
Pie Day will bake up a Marie Calendar meat pie for tonight's dinner.

I am going to do something for me now - it's a good thing

Mom helped me on cleaning the couch - it seems to really help her to be purposeful and it was something that I really needed to focus on.
mom is friendly again and no comments about what I should have done. dh also had a comment about the couch and I keep on going. it's dirty from the dogs. I am thinking of getting dh a leather chair where his white chair is bc his cloths and hands get the white chair dirty. Why have furniture that can't look good - I think he will be happier with a leather chair and it will be easier for me.

waving

Next flip flop the laundry done
laundry folded and put away
washed the kitchen inside windows and the door to the 3 season room.
then exercise
waiting for a company to come for the tile. they were supposed to be here from 2 - 4 - it's almost 4:30 - if we here from them then we here from them - I wasn't sure if this young man was offering this company on the side of the company he works for doing plumbing. I felt a little unsure about his honesty - just a feeling.
finally changed the lights in the laundry room - It's clean and done. dh said he wouldn't do it - fearful to do it.

I've really have had a s l o w day around here. BUT -- I literally stayed up all night. Not upset or nervous or anything, just one of those nights. I listened to a podcast (I guess that's what you'd call it) about how the new year can make grief harder, and I watched a lot of tv, but mostly I was just kinda "wired," and did not feel sleepy at all. I mean it was 5:30 in the morning before I turned off the lights.
So I slept late, and then scrolled online later, and FINALLY s2s around 2:00 pm.
Since then, I have been to the post office (in dh's truck, which fortunately is running just great, for a 32 year old truck) and I went to the cemetery and took the AU ornaments off dh's little Christmas tree. I left the tree there. I need to call the monument people and see what the status is for the stone.
-- I'm having some mild anxiety about the stone. Maybe it's too plain... but I didn't think dh would want something elaborate... and I didn't think he'd want me to spend a huge amount of money on something fancy -- dh was pretty frugal, to say the least... and I felt like he'd want something comparable to his parents' stone, which will be right next to ours. But lots of people keep posting pictures of stones with fancy engraved pictures and things. DS and I talked about that and agreed we didn't want that. DS might have liked an actual photograph, but we couldn't agree on which photo to use, and I was real undecided about that to begin with. I'm also having some mild anxiety about actually seeing MY name "chiseled in stone," you know? But I owe about $1000 on it, and I might should send them another payment. I am expecting it to be here in February or March.

Anyway -- I've had two fairly busy days, and I guess I just needed a slow day today.
I've talked to DS and dmom, and I did my morning stretches.

I also sent a text to the 2nd guy who inquired about dh's truck. He has not answered me. I've texted him twice since Dcousin made me an offer that was lower than I hoped for. There is a 3rd guy who has also asked. I'm not in a crazy-hurry to sell. I know I'm going to feel really sad when it leaves my driveway. I'm doing fine without the money it may bring, but I'm thinking I might should strike while the iron is hot, you know -- if 3 people have shown interest, I might should take the best offer I can get from them -- no need to advertise or anything, and no need to keep wondering when it's going to need some kind of repair for me to pay for! With these three, I only mentioned casually that I might sell dh's truck... and they all showed a lot of interest... at first. Now... :?: I don't want to just "give it away." Dcousin is only $500 less than what I thought would be my lowest price. But if neither of these other two want to give more than that, I think I will tell Dcousin he can have it for that. It really needs painting, and Dcousin said it would cost between $4500 and $5000 just to PAINT it! That just blew my mind, but dmom said she was not surprised, considering how much it cost my dad to have his 1963 Pontiac painted. OTOH, my main mechanic said I should ask $5000 for the truck. So I've told everyone this, $4500-$5000 but that the price is definitely negotiable. But Dcousin is offering below $3500.

Nancy, I'm interested in your cards, over on your other thread. I probably need to divide some of my tasks and think about that too.
I love watching shows that I have recorded because I can fast forward through the commercials! Almost all commercials really get on my nerves.
I do have a couple that I like -- the one for Quicken where the little girl says "my new pony and I love him." And I like the one for Liberty Mutual where the emu is leaving home and years later his owner sees him on tv and says, "Well I'll be... that bird did it." MOST of the Liberty Mutual commercials really annoy me though -- I absolutely HATE the one where the wax figure melts. For some reason that one just looks creepy to me.

Blessed, my dad had a leather chair and oh my... it is sooo nice. The first time DS sat in it, he said, "I might never get up again." I would have thought it might be cold or stiff or something, but it is sooo soft and comfortable.

LadyM -- is DS outgrowing the 14 and 15s? Wow!

Waving to ALL!!! Hope y'all stay warm and hope all our travellers have safe trips and successful trips -- (((Harriet)))!
Tomorrow is another day.

Thank you for the thoughts. Our trip was safe. The schools were on 2-hour delay so no buses had started out. And at the center there was generous and careful salt stuff to help with footing.

My blood work yielded good news. My organs are doing okay, white blood cell count up all by myself (before taking the hit today). She could tell I've had salty foods but said she would not criticize because my weight had not fallen so much like first time. She surprised by saying, "your kidneys are beautiful", and I told her that was an odd thing to say looking at a list, not a scan. She said, "no, really, they are wonderful", still staring. Gee. She says, "tell your husband, beautiful". lol. There were no results that told her the treatments were NOT working, so until scan at hospital she just stares at numbers and calculates the not-bad as circumstantial evidence of good.

We walked indoors to a new place in the side-by building for actual treatment. Not so luxury - I am in the category of "known quantity" now, I guess. Much more open to all other patients. View of people getting abdominal injections - they seemed to be used to being on display. Brought sandwich fixin's and HRH took to microwave I never saw and warmed the hot parts for me, before I balanced shredded lettuce on tiny tray, lol. He did have a tv.

No particular delays got us home shortly after 3. We didn't attempt any other errands.

Forced into a nap of course. The benedril is reduced but still does what it does, and long walks were tiring today.

Harriet so glad you are home safe, glad for your beautiful update.

Lucy L. I’m anticipating the arrival of new card file box this week. Just remembered the pink color code for personal stuff. I watched all things great & beautiful on replay today & knitted for some down time after this week. A new function my other tvs did not have. Set the knitting 🧶 show to record as I have a hard time catching it as I’m outside when it’s on a lot of the time.

Most of the daily cards I have done basic week plan daily stuff & routines. Also I cannot believe that I am having such a struggle with emotions on letting go of the over sized TV that did not really work on part of the screen. Been processing that this past few days.
