LadyM, I understand what you're saying, about ds' sales situation being different from mine. I do not think the mechanic who suggested $5000 is in the market to buy. In the years I've known him, I have never seen a vehicle for sale at his location. And I do not want to start advertising and dealing with strangers -- just too much trouble to get DS to go with me every time someone wants to look at it, etc. So today, guy offered $3000. I told him I just couldn't take that right now, without telling him that Dcousin was higher than that, but at this point, I'll be glad to sell it to Dcousin. I checked with him today to see if that offer is still good, and he said yes. So I told him I'm going to contact ds' friend, who is the third guy, and if he wants to make an offer, I'll hear what he has to say, but if it's no better than dcousin's $3500, then it's going to Dcousin. And I'll be glad to quit worrying about it.
As DS said last night, the Lord has put these three trustworthy men in my path, and any one of them will be better able to take care of this truck than I will be as time goes on. And you are so right -- a vehicle this old is 1 mile, 1 minute away from a break down. And I will tell ds' friend I realize this. I think the motor, etc, is good... but the truck is older than the boy who's going to be looking at it! He's a young married man, has a good job, but I don't know if he has a lot of mechanical knowledge or not. And you know, I don't want it to mess up our friendship (his mom is my pest control lady) -- what if it DOES break down 1 mile down the road after he signs the bill of sale? My goodness. Just got to take ds' advice and trust that God is going to get this truck in the hands of whoever needs it.

Y'all, I have been practically drunk all day, on that anxiety medicine! Doctor's office called this morning, first thing, scheduled biopsy for Feb. 26. Then called back a little later to tell me to preregister at the hospital on the 19th. Can't tell me what TIME of day the procedure will be scheduled; hospital will let me know when it is closer to the date. After I preregister, I am to go to the doctor's office to meet with the doctor who will do the biopsy (an MD, not the NP I've been seeing.) But anyway, of course that made me a little nervous... and then I was nervous about talking to the guy about the truck, so I talked to dmom for a minute and then took 1/2 a Klonopin. On an empty stomach. Oh my. I slept till 2:30 pm, and ever since then, I have felt a little disoriented, like I've got some vertigo. Whew. Finally realized I had not really eaten since about 9:00 last night. DGD and I just had supper, so maybe I'll be a little steadier on my feet before long.

I should start watching Dianne in Denmark for some motivation, I think. DS also told me I should spend more time on my writing, and practicing the piano, and just doing things to occupy my mind more. He is so good at putting unpleasant things out of his mind and going on with something else. If he had a biopsy on the 26th, he would write it on his calendar and not think about it again until the 25th, when he would say, oh yes, I've got to go do that biopsy tomorrow.

BTW -- my granddad taught my little brother to cook (minimally) when dbro had to pull up a chair to reach the stove. Dmom said she was in the hospital and ddad told her he said, "Well, what are we going to eat tonight?" And dbro started pulling a chair over to the stove and said, "I'm going to have scrambled eggs. You'll have to get the skillet out for me." BUT... dmom did not really focus on teaching/making me cook as I was growing up. She said looking back, she felt she was totally capable of running a home on her own at age 15, so getting married that young didn't seem a big step to her. She had been managing things at home for her mother (who worked) for so long, she thought it would be fun to manage her own home. She said subconsciously, she probably didn't want me to feel like I could be on my own at that age.

Oh (((Twins))) -- I am so sorry things are not going well... maybe things will be better tomorrow.

DDIL sent DS to the store for hamburger helper just last night, LadyM! I should buy some! That would be an easy way to use some of this 1/4 steer. I am STILL just smh in amazement that I, of all people in this town, I am one of the four to win a 1/4 of a steer. I hate to look a gift cow in the mouth, but my goodness... even after sharing with dmom, DS, and Dcousin... I still have a LOT of meat in the freezer.

And I'm sorry the water dept messed up things with the washer, Rose. Always something, isn't it? Not to mention the frustration with bank statements and Sweetie. (((BIG HUGS))) You are doing sooo well with how you are handling this.

YOU are also amazing with you handle your household and your dmom, blessed!

ALL of you ladies are such an inspiration to me!!!

Waving to everyone. DGD is here but she is occupying herself with attempting cartwheels, etc, in my bedroom. She is also listening to YouTube, and I'm not 100% convinced this is the best use of her time... but whatever...
Her last regular ballgame is tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. I told her we were taking showers early tonight and going to bed. I need a night of unmedicated sleep. Here she comes, wanting something else to eat.
I try to take pictures of everyday normal moments because time passes so quickly. What used to be normal years ago is now just a memory. Treasure the moments.
Sooo true.
Tomorrow is another day.
