Time to breathe, maybe? To step back and say, "okay, what am I missing", or "what did I mean to include", or "how can I join others to get some household hopes and dreams accomplished" ?

Saturdays offer us that different "take" on our weeks. We're less likely to have a rushed day that others have scheduled for us.

How will you be using your weekend to breathe, to step back and remember your priorities? What can you do this weekend that will smooth your way through next week, and the next.

I try to take pictures of everyday normal moments because time passes so quickly. What used to be normal years ago is now just a memory. Treasure the moments.

hello I have been up since 6:30 alleluia!
I have already watched Middle sized Garden, had a nice cup of coffee with lots of milk, breakfast.

I am up it was dark out not sure what time 5-6 ish. Tried to go back to sleep nope that did not happen.

OMM / was when I was in the big city hosp. and Dgd packed me a stuffy! I needed reading glasses they put the wrong ones in. I did not have a go bag.
A go back in important to have things you think you might need. MIL used to keep a change of clothes in the car. In winter this is a great idea. Food items LH was trapped between 2 mud slides one time after that we put emergency food in it.

Okay I have a play for dinner / lunch left over soup / dinner pizza

Next up work on card file box today this week cards first.

DH went to the city with a couple of his lifelong DFriends this morning to eat breakfast together. They made some more treasured memories together. Priceless.

have a go bag

Great reminder! I want to do this. I have always thought of a go-bag being for natural disasters (tornado, fire, etc). But personal experience has shown me a bigger reason for having one. It was a PITA to scramble to get basic essentials when DH was unexpectedly put into hospital. If I had a go-bag ready, I could have grabbed it as we headed out the door to the hospital. Instead, I found myself away from home needing the bare basics. It meant that I had to leave DH in an unknown condition (which greatly stressed me out) and drive to WMart to buy some things to get by. Some things I couldn't buy there so I had to ask someone to come to my home and get those essentials and then make the 2 hour drive to bring them to me.
I know exactly what bag I am going to use for this purpose. It is different from all my other bags/suitcases and will be instantly recognized to grab in an emergency.

I worked some on my card file system.
I see holes from the last time I did it ~ preciously is was summer.
This time it's winter so that is making it more balanced.
This box has 4 sections so I can do quarterly / seasonal stuff.
Got a handle on my color codes as I looked at the cards from before also very helpful.
Tweaking as I go.

Re: the go bag it could be helpful to have a spare new tooth brush and small containers of soap shampoo in a zip bag.
Reading glasses too. Notebook & pen for notes etc.

Hello everyone! Thank you for the nice start for today, Blessed. A quiet weekend, so different than a normal weekday is nice to reflect on the past week and look forward to a new week ahead!

A go-bag sounds like a really good idea, useful for a variety of situations!

We are truly in the middle of the winter here in northern Virginia. The temps have been in the teens and 20s at night and in the 30s daytime. We still have snow on the ground from the eight inches we had on Jan. 6th, although it is melting slowly. I think we are to have a slight warm up this next week or so.

I have missed my zoom bible study classes the past few months and now happy to be getting back to them and also starting back on my cross stitch projects again.


We had a good holiday season. Thanksgiving was busy; ddil's sisters came from TN with their families and her ddad came from KY, plus the local families. Christmas was quieter without the extra 10 out-of-towners. I had wonderful phone calls telling me my youngest grandsonD (18 years old) and his girlfriend were engaged as of New Years Eve; and my youngest granddaughterM (23 years old) and her boyfriend were engaged at Christmas. Both are planning 2025 weddings!

I am thinking about the wild weather we've all experienced lately and the wildfires in CA hoping for safety for all.

Good afternoon! A little at loose ends today. No plans; DH has stew going in the crockpot. So I’m working on getting back in the box. (Which in my case is a pouch, but whatever.) My therapist says I should add more structure to my day since I don’t have a work project going right now. This should do nicely.

I’m ever so slightly woozy right now; my blood pressure is pretty low. Besides it being the weekend, I don’t want to contact the cardiologist yet because the reason I’m on this particular blood pressure medication is to counteract any blood pressure rise the Adderall might cause, and on Monday, the psychiatrist and I will be talking about increasing my dosage.

I have a load in the dryer that has just finished, so next up is flipping the wash and folding the dry stuff. Debating starting another load. Heck, it’s early — I may as well.
