Sometimes it just feels like Groundhog Day, but today it really IS Groundhog Day!!
Does this mean we have to go outside? Maybe we should go back to bed for 6 weeks!!
It really is Groundhog Day!!

Re: It really is Groundhog Day!!
Dh and I spent a lot of time outside yesterday morning. We had someone coming over and we also had the water delivery tanker coming at some point because a storm caused the company some missed customers on Friday afternoon, including us. We had a bad storm on Friday, which caught the plows and salt/sand trucks by surprise. Lots of hills were too slippery to drive on. It had rained earlier and then the temperature dropped and then we had a heavy snowfall. Any way, dh cleared the driveway and I cleaned both vehicles and the patio. Dh also cleared one of our neighbours so she called and thanked dh. Seems her husband is away on a business trip and she has a bad back.
I made chili for supper last night. Dh was very happy about that.
Since the water delivery, I have done a load of laundry and 2 loads in the dishwasher, plus dh and I both had showers. I've been up for a couple of hours and most of that was doomscrolling.
Later... all floors have been mopped. All clean laundry is out of the dryer. I need to go to Costco this morning and a couple of other stops.

Re: It really is Groundhog Day!!
It's cloudy here today. Cathy thanks for the reminder of the day I"d forgotten about that.
QT X
More coffee.
I went outside before it was lite out to take egg shells for the garden when ddoggo went out.
No wind yes! 30* / 40* F. is our temp range like that most of this next week.
Thinking on fabrics to containerize I have one yard pieces apx. to do now.
I did the denim, and some cotton strips, and yardage in 3 diff. containers yesterday.
Feels SO great to finally have progress on that! YEA!
Having coffee and considering my breakfast options.

Re: It really is Groundhog Day!!
Good morning!
Cathy - Thank you for the start today.
Groundhog Day lore = If you see a shadow then 6 more weeks of winter. We have bright sunshine today so using their prediction we won't have an early spring.
It has been so warm here that I have stopped wearing some of my winter layers. I woke up in the middle of the night realizing that I wasn't warm. After adding that extra layer, it made a difference in my sleep. I woke up after sleeping 10h 15 minutes! The bed was so warm, cozy and comfortable that I was in a deep sleep. I missed church this morning because I slept through it.
AM personal tasks are done including washing hair.
Kitchen tasks are done including cooking breakfast.
Not sure what I will get into today in addition to the normal teen and DH care.

Re: It really is Groundhog Day!!
2 hrs. later .... I crawled back in bed it was so warm but did not go back to sleep so got up
just as it was getting lite out. I did think on cooking this next week. So I have a plan.
I Did my 40 days project takes longer than a day for me to do it!
Getting in to the rhythm of it. Write a prayer about widsom is next
so I'm meditating on that.
I did a walk about in the basement and listen to my morning music
while I folded fabrics and have reclaimed the table in the sewing zone.
Wa-hoot celebration time!!!
Had my bfast
Next I'll be rolling the jelly roll strips and considering the projects.
I looked at quilt batt last week but could not reach it at W-mart and did not see it at JoAnns.
Might have to look on Amz. for it.
Not cotton and not high loft.
Considering bags I've made in the past instead.
But found plenty of alternative things to do last week instead as you have read.
Walked
Lunch is in the oven now.

Re: It really is Groundhog Day!!
I was up at eight and we met ds at nine a.m. for breakfast out with him. Then dh and I went to Costco. It wasn't too bad that early. He's unpacked from the trip last week and is getting packed for the trip tomorrow, coming back on Wednesday.
And somehow that triggered cleaning some stuff out of our closet.
We're invited to go to the river today to see A and V, but dh isn't planning to go. V has been sick with a cough that won't quit and is taking it easy - we had to cancel our dinner out last night. Dh is going to a birthday party for a woman who is 102 so he's thinking he shouldn't be around illness. (I'm not asking if he's masking on the plane, cause I bet he isn't) So I may go for a couple of hours. It's sunny with a high of 66 today so should be really nice on their deck. He's bowling tonight.

Re: It really is Groundhog Day!!
I took my time leaving the house and boy, did that ever make a difference at Walmart and Costco on a Sunday at noon! Yikes!
I picked up a lasagna for supper tonight. Dh mentioned lasagna a couple of weeks ago, so when I saw the brand we like, I grabbed one.
Our road is still slippery and snow covered. All other roads are totally clear, including all parking lots. Our driveway isn't great, but it's winter and it snowed. As some people say, "it is what it is."

Re: It really is Groundhog Day!!
More trips to the garden have been made. The garden might be just an excuse to soak up the sunshine.
Chicken nugget Sunday lunch has happened. This is a weekly favorite meal of everyone.
Harriet is on my mind. I hope she is doing as well as can be. ((((Hugs))) She hasn't checked in since Thursday.
February home decorations are in place. About a half dozen decorations have been decluttered. Table clothes have been washed & dried and the decorations from January are stored in a plastic tub until next year.
Next up - decide on February clothing capsule wardrobe. Gather & cover January clothes in big closet.
