Didn't get enough steps yesterday because tied to computer working on HOA work. That continues today but I have my workout so that will help. I did get three laps around with the dog yesterday, and some "house walking" last night.

9K steps yesterday, my shins are sore so I didn't want to over do it, and all my water. Eating was on target. I haven't been on the scales yet, but something is working because my clothes are fitting better. I'm just keeping on, keeping on....

I'm at 9500 steps. I had a great workout, as always.

I’m working on cutting out all sugars. I don’t use a lot, just a tad in my coffee and teas. I hardly ever eat cookies and sweets and occasionally eat strawberries and blueberries. Also am cutting down on dairy. We’ll see where this leads me.

10k steps yesterday and ate right ..drank 60 ozs of water. That does not include my 32 ozs of coffee.

Tweaking my food continues. In the past week I have found the "sweet spot" and I hope to keep replicating it. In the first week of February, I lost 0.8% of my body weight. That is the rate that I want to lose.

I am enjoying using AI to do research for me.
Which has higher vitamins and minerals per 100g? Corn or potatoes? Oatmeal or quinoa? Pinto beans or rice?
Then I use that information to adjust my daily food.

My main focus goes to -
** Meeting or exceeding the 84 vitamins & minerals RDA
** Protein 40% or more of total food intake.
** Wide variety of vegetables - most days I eat spinach, onion, tomatoes, cabbage, beets, green beans, and corn.

I recognize I can't eat perfectly every day, but at least I am getting an idea of how my body responds.

So glad you're finally getting good results LadyM. I am stuck, it seems. Probably need more water and need to eat a little better too. Because I'm not so hungry I skip meals then sometimes am so hungry I don't eat well. And when dh is out of town, I don't cook. Last night we had grilled pork chops, sauteed spinach and sweet potato. That was eating well.

30* today just a brief walk to each corner with ddoggo.
It's snowing a bit and breezy.
So when I went to the basement to put some things in the freezer I did 10 min. on the gazelle and got 1/4 of the step count for the day in.
The steps helped I"m sure. To where I usually am for this part of the day yea! /Fri.

I'm enjoying reading the 100 ideas for healthy eating book. I try to read and evaluate a couple of the ideas every day. Many of the ideas I have read so far have already been implemented.
** Learn to focus on my actions instead of my feelings. On the days that I'm not in the mood, do it anyway. Take responsibility for my own actions. Keep going despite challenges or setbacks.
** Boundaries define the plan/system guidelines but are not rigid and allow me to stay on the path while not falling into the ditches. Boundaries give benefits, not punishment. They provide guidance to live by but not burden with rules & guilt.
** Practice the skill of observing food cues & cravings, then letting them go. Just because I think about food doesn't mean I have to eat it. When food thought or craving comes to mind, write it down. Remind myself that I don't have to act on it. The thought is captured so it can leave my mind.

Yesterday I ate 2 out of 3 meals cooked by someone else. I logged the food as well as I could. I knew I wouldn't reach the vitamin/mineral goals for the day but I was able to stay in my calorie range. I expected a huge bounce on the scales this morning and wanted to not weight myself. However, I know from experience that skipping daily weigh in feeds my ability to start ignoring the data that the scales provide. I consoled myself that I would only pay attention to the weekly average, took a deep breath and stepped on the scale expecting the worst. What a surprised to only see a .2 increase

Committing to stay focused doing the best I can in taking care of myself.

Reading 100 ideas book....
** No one will care about my food plan as much as I do. It is my job to prevent people and/or events from pulling me outside of my boundaries. Protect my plan from myself during times of stress, boredom or late at time. Keep busy. Walk. Distract myself.
** Evaluate your meal times and analyze whether you need to eat more often. If you are not giving your body enough fuel it will revolt and demand more which leads to bad choices.
** When you’re feeling stressed or sad or lonely, food does seem to make you feel better. At least initially, it calms your anger or anxiety and lifts your spirits. After two bites, stop! Remind yourself that your needs have been met and eating more of the won't increase the healing level. If you’re eating as a way to feel nurtured or calmed, you’ll usually experience some level of those feelings right away. But continuing to eat won’t bring any more satisfaction or make you feel better. In fact, at some point you’ll probably begin to feel frustrated and disappointed with your behavior instead of being healed by the food. Once you understand that eating more won’t continue to improve your emotional state, you can use this in your favor. With a little effort, you can train yourself to feel better after eating only a small amount of nurturing food.
