Home Sweet Home Saturday
This is a Home Sweet Home day in the south - storms and rain out and enjoying the benefits of home life. Take some time to appreciate your home too - the quietness and comfort - and maybe consider changes to enhance your comfort and enjoyment.
We also have a "Fun and Games" thread going daily so we're able to dip in and out and meet our new friends!

Re: Home Sweet Home Saturday
Good Morning!
Yes, to Home Sweet Home appreciation.
Yesterday the wind was wild! I heard 60mph sustained winds with 85mph wind gust. It wasn't a bit fun to be outside. Many lost roofs off homes, fences, etc from the straight winds. Many were evacuated and homes lost due to wind driven fires. Many vehicles flipped over while trying to drive in the wind. Thankfully it is over and today is calm with normal winds (10-15mph). I did a quick walk around this morning and didn't see damage to our place other than multiple tree limbs down. DH said, "It is nice to have the house not creaking and sounding like it is about to be blown off its foundation"
This is day #2 of 10 days spring break. DS16 and girlfriend have tickets to go to Jurassic Quest event in our state biggest city. I think the biggest draw for them to attend is challenging themselves in driving and navigating there & back.

Re: Home Sweet Home Saturday
We're in one of those periods of an extended t storm - thunder is rolling around from different directions, with some coming closer from time to time. Ddog is not a happy camper. I gave her meds - of course, this line of storms will probably move through before the meds take effect. She's gone back to bed instead of lodging in my lap. (I'm at the kitchen counter on a low barstool, her front paws and head have been in my lap.) Some particularly close lightening, but no wind for now.
I have nothing going on today, thankfully. Dh is at Torah study as usual, don't know what he has. He spent yesterday in his chair in front of the TV, when the weather was nice enough to be out (and I was getting groceries and doing household things.)
I'm making a crockpot beef and barley soup today - it's an easy one where everything gets dumped into the crockpot on low and it cooks all day. Tomorrow afternoon we take some to "Grandad," the weekend temple employee who sets up and cleans up after weekend events.

Re: Home Sweet Home Saturday
I have dealt with 3 stinky jobs. Two litter boxes and cleaning the toilet. Last night I did 2 loads of bed sheets. We are expecting wild winds and a possible rain storm with lots of rain and along with that, there have been warning about water not being able to drain in the fields because there has been so much snow that has melted that the ditches are full. I'm just trying to get ahead of the possible drainage problems by getting stuff done before Sunday's possible storm. Right now I can hear the 2 large brass wind chimes in the back yard. CLANG CLANG CLANG!!
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Good morning / good afternoon!
Today DH has gone out for the day with his friends, and I've been pottering round the house, determined to get things tidy before I go out into my garden. So, I've S&S the bathroom, PUPA and dusted the bedrooms, PUPA and hoovered downstairs, dusted the sitting room and wound the clock. I've also messaged a seller on eBay, letting her know that the dolls house sized grand piano has arrived safely and with a picture to show it's now taking pride of place in the 1950's dolls house I'm currently renovating. Oh, and I've also put the first load of towels in the washing machine. I need to hang those up to dry before I disappear outside.

Re: Home Sweet Home Saturday
I am looking outside and not a good day for gardening as weather is coming in rain already here.
Plus we have a wind advisory today later on I think.
So... maybe some sewing.
I have done my 1 three things
Quiet time audio Bible [Up to Joshua now.]
Prayer journal happy to say that one is full!
Morning pages journal & Bfast as well.
fed ddoggo
I need to get dressed. X= done
Then fetch meat from the deep freezer down stairs. X
Waving to everyone have a great day!

Re: Home Sweet Home Saturday
Seems like a lot of us are facing bad weather today. I have the beef/barley soup going in the crockpot. Noticed that meal tonight for this couple is beef stew; I could have chosen more wisely but this is a really good and easy soup and with crockpot on low comes out tender and tasty. It also has porcini mushrooms, carrots and onion.
Storms have moved on for now.
