Hi, everyone.

atlantic flyer, are you learning or teaching French? Look forward to seeing you whenever you are here. Maybe it is since you and I have posted together, that one of my children also lives in the house of mine that I would have posted about before. I have left my house (of 43 years) after my dsonil's death. Now my oldest dd lives there, her childhood home, with her 4 boys. She has put a lot of money into it, sensibly. My husband and I now live in my parents' smaller house, my childhood home, across the road, and we've also had to update and redo a lot, planning to do more.

Dstepson came by and visited after picking up limbs. We had a storm last night. Just one flash of lightning and then thunder, but it was a big one. The lightning woke me, oddly enough, before the thunder shook.

Ddolder's family are traveling, taking DangerBoy back to college and visiting in-law families.

Ds and family made it to church this a.m. He was here yesterday measuring our back porch for an idea he has to build a better set of stairsteps, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him later.

We had a situation with the bath/shower drain not draining well, so we worked on that about 15 mins and got it straightened out. Bit of a mess, though, so I have cleaned the tub and the rubber bath mat is in the washer.

I am waiting for the kitchari to cool enough to take out of the IPot. Smells good.

Hello, everyone.

Today has been church, followed by visiting DF E for coffee, then coming home to cook our roast lunch. I've done a little in my garden (it was sunny but chilly today with a keen wind). Freddie has been on my lap for a couple of hours, and then I've done a little more to my photo sorting project. Now I'm watching Miss Marple with DH, and Matilda is having her turn on my lap.

I feel like I've been on the run this afternoon. I had just taken the bread out of the oven when we took off for the birthday party. Birthday guy is 85 and in good health. Party was at home of his ds, a prominent allergist with a house that just knocks me out. An older house which suffered a fire, and was rebuilt with modern conveniences. Gorgeous high ceilings and big rooms and impeccably decorated with interesting art everywhere. They were serving a catered buffet lunch. Very very nice.

Got home, heated up the soup and packaged it with bread and we went off to deliver it. I hope I took enough - the meal train info said two adults but her daughter and granddaughter were there. I think I probably had close to two quarts of soup so should be okay. They've had meals brought in since Thursday, 6 March, and a lot of gift cards too.

Dh has set off for bowling. I need to clean the kitchen. Never got it fully cleaned up today. Since dh will be out for the evening I think I'll read a bit before I do it. I need some non-running around time right now.

After supper I swept and mopped hallway, bedroom and bathroom. I also emptied the dishwasher and the dish tray. I want to get the island wiped off. I took kitchen garbage out earlier as well.

Good evening!

Not an eventful day. Read at church. Came home, had brunch, dozed a little. Rode along with DH to drop off taxes and pick up a prescription.

Spent a little time in the sun/play room trying to identify things that the kids and I can do to excavate it. It's just so overwhelming. The biggest problem is that the (low) shelves are full of old toys, and in front of them are boxes of newer things that could go on the shelves except the toys are there, but you can't easily get rid of the toys because they're blocked in by the new stuff.

Anyhow, I peeked in here and was going to post, then get the kids to work with me in the playroom, but DH wanted to play a game. I figured, fine, we could attack the playroom after the game. Except the game went on longer than expected, so by the time we were done, we were losing the light, and DD was feeling unwell. So no work in the playroom. Then we had our Sunday night Chinese dinner, and now, I'm finally here with nothing more to say.

Time to fill my pill box for the week and pack it in for the night. Sweet dreams, everyone!

Harriet I have taken French off and on over the years and a couple years ago took an intense course and I didn't want to lose momentum. I live in the only bilingual province in Canada so almost needed
