Ta Da! It's Tuesday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Name 'em and count 'em! Tally up those ta das - maybe you're doing chores, or errands, or maybe something pleasurable (genealogy research?) but we'll have such a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. Forget the to dos, and count the ta das!

Good morning!

Well, the only ta-da I have this early in the day is that I"ve dropped DC off at school. Later this morning, I will have a ta-ta ta-da -- I'm getting a mammogram. I remember Lynlee (I miss her & hope she's well) referring to it as having her cups turned into saucers, so I have that smile each year.

I hope lucylee does her best impression of a morning person today and gets her trees.

I woke at 4:30 to go to the bathroom and had a hard time getting back to sleep -- had to get up to use the bathroom again at 5:30, and the alarm was at 6. My first thought was to go back to bed after dropping DC, but then I remembered the aforementioned mammogram. I think I might go back to bed when I get back, though, or at least nap in my chair.

Do you have some genealogy planned for today, Twins?

I am going to make a cup of tea and see if it makes me less bleary, then do the online check-in for my appointment and clean up breakfast dishes. By the time I'm done with those, it should be time for me to go.

Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning!

Twins - Thank you for the start today.

Mystery - You provided me with fond memory and smile. I think of Lynnlee often and wonder how she is doing. The last mammo I received was new equipment and there wasn't that uncomfortable cup to saucer experience. Hopefully yours will be quick, painless with welcome results.

I have a free day which I am embracing. Most of my days are filled with must-do's so the option to have a day that I decide what gets done, or if I will do it, feels refreshing. My day may not be as free as some because there are still the teens and DH to monitor but without the addition of public school and homeschool it seems free to me. I guess like most things.....It's more a matter of perspective?

Next up -
Me - 250+ steps, teeth & hair
Inside - Clean sinks - 4 in bathrooms, 1 in kitchen, 1 in garden room
Outside - Check asparagus, one round with push mower
Food - Yogurt/protein drink, decide on today meals
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Most of the morning had been spent in the garden, enjoying the sun, mulching the rest of the roses, weeding, dead heading etc
Walk along by the stream in the valley park
A little time in my tiny front garden
Lunch (on a folding chair in my front garden, as that is where the sun has moved to.

Morning girls...

Been up for a while, but have only managed one cup of coffee. Gonna add to that in a minute. Had to do some banking stuff on line that took one hour of phone calls but its done. It was only 45* this morning so my sunnies remain covered until it warms up later today. I bet they like their warm homes too.

Morning routines done, foot prints gone although I see several I missed. Will fix that in a moment. Cleaned under my guest bathroom cabinets...I use this bathroom as mine...as well as the closet. Tossed lots of makeup and other items so am glad I did that. I have in the door shelves to assemble, but I will let Sweetie do that...will be interesting to see if he can. If not I will be there to assist him. He hates to have me hanging around now when he tries to do something. In the past he would glad accept my help, but now it seems to be a matter of pride when he is able to do something on his own. Its one of the few ways his Alzheimer's really shows up.

Kittykatt...I love the words you use that are so different than mine. Rubbish for garbage and Wheelie bin for garbage cans. I really like that one!

Off to start my day...see y'all later

Rice bowls are taking top billing in our food today. I will be prepping the ingredients for everyone to pick and choose as they build their own bowls.

Next up -

Inside - Laundry focus - gather and put away clean clothes
Outside - chain saw used on storm damaged tree branches.

Mystery, meant to respond yesterday that I'm leaving on Sunday 30 March to drive to Richmond VA. I'll take two days to get there - I'd like to stop for some Civil War sites on the way up but it seems most of my "want to go" places are north of Richmond, so I'll figure that out. I check in there on Monday and Tuesday-Friday is at the Library of Virginia. Leaving on Saturday but might do some more sightseeing before heading home. My ancestral stomping ground is Loudoun Co. but it's northwest of Washington DC. I don't know if I want to go that far north but if I do I really should to to Washington too? There's the DAR library and NARA there. Actually, I've probably found it easiest to order files from NARA from someone who retrieves files there, it's worth the money and I don't have anything on my list right now that I haven't already ordered from him. But a day at the DAR library I could do. So I dither about where to go. When I drove to Richmond a couple of years ago, I went cross country to go to Appomattox, but didn't see much else along the way.

Dh is away until Thursday p.m. I love him, but I enjoy being "home alone" too. It's so quiet and lovely! I don't have to leave the house until my workout at two on Thursday!

I'm presently finishing printing and reviewing the "pamphlet" (about 115 pages) that I photographed for my own use years ago at the Tennessee state library and archives. I'm reviewing all the info there about the Loudoun Co family and making notes about things that I need to find. When this was published, footnotes like we do now were unheard of, so there's a lot of undocumented mentions of records that aren't cited.

----

Walked ddog three laps - it's a gorgeous morning - walked last lap with dfriend M and R uby. Also finished printing off the pamphlet.

Twins - I looooooovvvvvvvveeeee reading about your traveling plans and adventures.

Rice bowl ingredients are coming together. They can be taken in several different direction depending on who is assembling their bowls.
Rice, diced ham, diced HB eggs, diced hot links, ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded Flaming Jack cheese, Parmesan cheese, sliced pepperoni, pickles, jalapeno peppers, and onions.
Sauces available - Salsa, Franks, Ranch, BBQ, GHughes stir fry, GHughes burger sauce, Hoisin sauce, Honey Mustard, Soy sauce and last but not least used in this house......ketchup.

I texted DS16 to let him know what is on the menu today. He replied, "How much did you prepare?"
I know what he is asking......how many friends can he invite to eat here tonight. It should be enough to feed 4-5 teens. After this prepared food is gone, then they will have to cook more food themselves.

RR - it is helpful to me to hear you talk about normal life with Sweetie. DH memory loss is evident every day in various ways. 99% of the time it is easily ignored but there is no getting around the fact that he isn't the same.

Next up -
Me - 250+ steps, cook brunch = omelet
Inside - 4 toilets swish & swiped.
Outside - transplant 6 marigold flowers to 8" pots
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.
