Ddog was still sleeping and I came upstairs, immediately she got up and came up here to see about me. It's 48 degrees, feels like 43, so I'm going to try to push off her walk a little while anyway. I can hear the wind blowing outside, although we don't have a wind or fire danger warning so far today. We'll be down to freezing tonight.
I know, not so cold to those in the north!

I have a workout at two, and dh comes home late, probably after 10 p.m. tonight. I don't have to pick him up, he left car at airport.

Later....walked ddog, did a few things downstairs, I'm back up here.

Congrats Kathryn and family on your happy news! You may recall that I had to go to to court to become my sister's guardian in 2013. She was already hospitalized for mental and physical reasons by that time however and moved to a nursing home thereafter.

So sorry for worries for LadyM. Do you and dh already have POAs in place?

Harriet, glad your steps are more pleasant now. I confess to having a little PTSD when faced with going down steps since the fall that broke my wrist. I prefer a rail and go slowly. Steep steps on stone or concrete are the worst!

Glad you're moving toward driving independence, Mystery. My ds wasn't very motivated to learn to drive but he was driving by his senior year of HS. He had a lot of anxiety about it.

Hello, everyone!

Congratulations to Kathryn on the birth of her foster grandson.

Today is a beautiful spring day, we have 19 C and it's sunny with clear blue skies and just a gentle breeze. I'm sitting in my garden eating a very late lunch, after spending a long time after church celebrating MQ's birthday with cake and then chatting. We have coffee and biscuits after the service on Thursdays, and if it's someone's birthday, then we have cake (usually homemade) with candles (today we had tea lights as everyone forgot about candles) and sing "Happy Birthday.

I e hoovered the car and run my errand to M& S Foodhall for some reduced meat and fish. This afternoon, I'm planning on spending on the garden as it's such a beautiful day. Top of the lost is to give my pots their weekly feed, and do a little weeding / deadheading.

This evening, Waitrose should be delivering, so I'll PA the groceries and cook supper (left over pork, with baked beans and mashed potatoes). Bit before I start playing in the garden I need to change onto casual clothes!

We are back home after a 2 hour drive with a 30 minute dermatologist visit. Both DH and I had several skin places sprayed with liquid nitrogen. We will look "lovely" for the next few days as the places blister and heal. IMHO it is a thousand times better to treat skin places early rather than waiting until surgery is needed.

I was so very excited on the drive to see so many colors. Blue sky (instead of the brown/red dust clouds) and so much green. The redbuds are blooming as well as several other types of trees. But mostly it seems everything is busting out green. The wheat pastures are dark green with grass and tree leaves showing various shades of green. This is my favorite time of the year.

Paid deductible portion of bill to large hospital authority,
(after assurance yesterday in phone appt that billing looked usual to SW dept.)
Sent copy to HRH for printing.

Almost scared to call ddolder to ask whether she and WonderBoy are still well. Hoping the younger boys are feeling okay. I don't know if dd is coming back home after dropping off for testing, or just staying there to wait. She has become expert at taking meetings on a tablet in her car when she has to.

Either we are having another controlled burn on a road nearby, as happened the other day, or we are just having terribly gray weather! Either way, dismal day out there.

Back from town it's errands some fun thrifting but glad to be home.
46* F. outside here now.
I've put away kitchen stuff.
Pens need to be put away unless I decide to use them.
I did get an undated planner at JoAnn's is all knew I'd use the pages later.
I'm out of the sewing mood now. But did get ribbons for later use in case I get inspired.
Thrifted three books and one is one goal setting and the other two are journals with great pics in em.
I had a bit better get busy.

Read a section in my book the same concepts but a different grade level not as easy to implement how ever IMO.
Went out and raked the back yard dug out a weedy herb and moved some tulips.
Breezy had to wear my hoodie but it was great to process that chapter I'd just read.
It had great graphs and charts to explain it.
Skipped a.m. class might go back for the replay.

Kathryn & family - Congratulations on the birth of precious baby!

I am feeling off track and behind with food prep. Potatoes are in the instant pot. Multiple kinds of protein are ready to eat. Multiple selection of carbs are available. Multiple vegetables are available. Various sauces are available. Hum....maybe I am not as behind as I thought. I just don't have it written down. I need the visual of options available written & separated by categories.

I lost 2 plants in the wind. The basil & pepper plants stems broke at ground level. I am going to give them a couple days in the sunshine to see if the roots are viable. Most likely they are a total loss. It happens.

Dismal here as well, Harriet, with temp in high forties, wind blowing and light rain. Doesn't feel much like spring here, and I can't keep my hands warm, even though I have heat turned way up in my room upstairs. I bailed on my workout I'm afraid.

I'm feeling pretty productive about my research. I'm getting the hang of Virginia research and some sources and don't want to stop, lol. I think, tho, I am going to take a short nap with the dog, in part to warm my hands up.

We have having a houseguest tomorrow beginning in afternoon I think - here for a memorial service which dh will also attend. He'll be here until Sat a.m. Tomorrow night we're having a little dinner party for him and two couples here that stay in touch with him. I've ordered a pan of restaurant lasagna that services 8 - 10. One guest is bringing a salad, and I'll make challah. Need to round up dessert and be sure we have enough appetizer type foods. I'm debating what I need to do today - against my desire to keep researching. I ran the Roomba this morning already. I should make a list...(yeah, imagine that.) I have the evening today also.

My home is 2200 sq ft and mostly tile. I even washed down the baseboard. Dinner is going out.
