Tuesday TA DA Tally PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Count 'em up today! How many ta das, large and small, will you tally? Count your successes above all, the little things accomplished, tasks previously put off or forgotten, and daily tasks that might seem to loom large today. Count them all and we'll celebrate together!

First ta da is up on time!

Now I need to get myself moving. Unfortunately, I need to be at sleep doc's in a little more than an hour! It's only 10 minutes away but I need to clean myself up, walk dog and get some breakfast. I might go with yesterday's breakfast - boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt. Dh bought already boiled eggs at Costco a couple of weeks ago.

Hello, I have a Ta Da that I have CUOP

It just broke my heart to hear that blessed and her dmother ended up at the hospital yesterday.

And that lucylee's dmother had a fall, although thank goodness not too alarming.

Thank you so much for thinking of me.

My day at hospital was everything they said it would be. The OR was strange in that the nurse (a guy) made me a tent out of their blue paper sheets and an arrangement of tape on cords. He had me to look over in his direction, peeping out a little space, lol. Meanwhile, the woman surgeon was efficient on the other side of me without letting me know too much about it.

In the other ward, my success was being able to lie on my back without potty break for 6+ hours. I was very still, and there's a story about the pain meds that I could let get traumatic, but I'm trying to let it go. Being so determined to be still meant the machine didn't have to stop and start and I got to leave as early as possible.

I got to see my cells in their bag and I got to hear that my courier's name was Tim. He was right on time and cells left for Boston (I'm happy to be allowed to know where) before I left the hospital.

Slept a great deal since getting home, one stretch for 5 hours without waking. Great big bandage. Ds says it does not surprise him, he expected it.

I get to stay home for three days now and I really should make a plan for it. Right now just so glad to be here. Time for making a simple brunch.

Good morning! My biggest ta-da today is that I managed to get DD to her driving lesson on time. DH's school has spring break this week, so he can be in a bit later in the morning, so he volunteered to take DC to class. So I fell back asleep. Then, I didn't check my calendar until after I'd showered and dressed, at which point (8:50) I learned that DD had the driving lesson about a half hour away. I fetched her some pop-tarts while she got dressed, and we flew out of the house, actually making it with a few minutes to spare. I snagged a belated breakfast at Mickey D's on the way home.

I have not even attempted to start payroll today, as at this point, I've got about 10 minutes before I have to leave again.

Good to see Harriet after her adventures of yesterday. I have a friend who had cells harvested for later return, but I don't know if the procedure was the same. She was out of commission for a few months last year as they rebuilt her immune system, but she is doing quite well now. She is the one who hosted Friday's girls' night. At any rate, I hope you have a similar stellar recovery, Harriet!

Hugs to blessed and lucylee dealing with their mothers' ills. Do let us know how your mom's recovery proceeds, blessed.

Time to go! Have a great day, everyone!

d harriet I am so glad that this procedure is behind you! I understand the pain meds and how they deliver it in different ways - not pleasant- I am glad it's over for you!!! ! praying you never ever have to go through that again d harriet! I am grateful the machine did what it needed to do and that you got to leave earlier because of your ability to lie still.
I am so happy you are home!!! you deserved the good sleep! Heal fast!

d Lucy I am glad your d mom is okay!

how nice that dh was able to take dc to class! hard to believe your dd is learning how to drive already.

hello everyone. hope all is well.

I moved dh's appointment to Friday - he doesn't want to go. But he will go.
I have to call to make appointments with 2 other drs.
I turned down the physical therapy coming today for dh bc I need a day with out hospital staff her at my home or at the hospital. I have already had to talk to a couple people - that was more than enough for the day ;) 8-)
it is always a joy to be here with you!

(((Harriet))) I hope you come up with a decent plan for the next 3 days. Would audio books appeal to you? That's what I'm overdosing on these days, both when I'm doing housework (I listen while I do boring tasks), and while I'm resting.

I'm up and sort-of moving.

Two items I ordered arrived last night so I tried them on this morning. Holding it up to me, I thought the pants would be way too long but my width shortens the length and they are just fine. I already have the same pants in black but a size down. They were on the cusp of being too small so I ordered a size up when I bought navy ones and are very happy with the fit. I may buy a pair of black in the larger size although I checked and they fit well, just differently.

The new rain coat is better than my old coat but is fleece lined so may end up being too warm. I also bought teal which looks much better than my black but it occurs to me that not one of my hats will match. The best I've got is my off-white one, which I could dress up with a band if I can find one that is close to this colour. The neck warmer I got at the stuff swap matches the new coat perfectly, so that's a bonus. And it has big inside pockets which are perfect for travel. (My existing raincoat doesn't have interior pockets.

I slept in by accident, waking on my own 8 hours after lights out, but then falling back asleep to the radio for another hour. Dh texted me at the later time I woke up so it may not have been me waking on my own. He slept terribly. When he booked the airBnB by the airport he failed to note the flight paths at the airport and the planes are keeping him up all night.

I'm hoping to make paperwork the focus of the day. There is a horrendous mess of it in the living room and I'm tired of my living room looking so awful. I'm starting to really miss having an office of my own, or at least my desk not being the focal point of the living room. Our dining room is currently wasted space since we don't entertain any more (fell out of the habit cuz of Covid and the kids and their families are seldom here.) So I spent time today with a tape measure to see if I could move the desk (which is 32" x 60") into the dining room. It would take removing a piece of furniture from the dining room (perhaps even the apartment which means losing an antique) so I doubt dh would agree to this change. But we can put doors up to close off the dining room which would make this much better for me and my concentration.

My focus for today is on Sweetie. He is very seldom sick but I believe he has a cold. He refuses to stay in bed and falls asleep sitting on the couch with his legs stretched out. Whatever.. at least he’s sleeping

He slept off and on for much of yesterday. Won’t take cold Medicine but is using nose spray. He ate soup and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner last night.

The couch is in the living room so I am moving around as quiet as a mouse. I want him to sleep. Don’t want to go out because if he falls asleep when I’m gone and waits up he gets confused.

So I guess it’s gonna be a book reading day… I can think of worse ways to spend my time 😉

So very glad to see Harriet's report and to see others checking in. Mystery sounds like my day many times - get up late, unfocused, then have to fly out of the house for something. Bw2, happy you can join us today. I hope that dh has a good day and you can catch your breath. Some yard time would be optimal if you can get out.

Oh. Paperwork, Kathryn. Yes, some things I should take care of before I can go away. That should be my focus today. not playing with genealogy reports.

Ta da! out to nurse practitioner appointment and home again. Quick and easy, and done for another year. Something frightened dog while I was out. She was wide-eyed and trembling when I came in. Usually it's a fire alarm that beeped but I haven't heard anything since I got home. We really should change out all of those batteries once a year, as recommended, so this doesn't happen.

I need to:
-finish a.m. routine
-pack a pair of shoes for return drop off (wait, just read online how I might adjust the fit....)
-start load of laundry - bath mats from our bathroom

Sounds like a quiet day for you RR, hope Sweetie feel better soon.
