Good Morning!

Yesterday's trip to the dentist resulted in no cavities for anyone. Win! Win! Win!
However, it did result in DS16 being referred to oral surgeon to have his wisdom teeth removed. One of his wisdom teeth is growing sideways with no chance of doing anything other than causing damage and future pain. I want DS16 to get these wisdom teeth removed now instead of waiting until he is in pain. However, I am concerned because DS16 has been under anesthesia 3 times and every time he has experienced Emergence delirium. Handling a child who is experiencing delirium is one thing but having a 6'5" strong guy experience it is totally another matter. It took 4 adults to keep him from harming himself as a child as he was coming out of anesthesia. Some other method will need to be ready to be used now. I will be seeking highly experienced and wise anesthesia care for DS16 for this procedure.

Areas of my life status -
** Taking care of myself focus and effort is going well.
** Food prep and inventory is on track. DS16 and girlfriend want to grocery shop & cook a meal for everyone. Their menu is steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, salad, and hot rolls. I encouraged them to do it on Friday or Saturday.
** Gardening is full of promise as the last of the plants are put into the raised bed. Daily harvest is needed because of the amount of asparagus and greens being produced. There is a possible oh-NO for this weekend. Two nights are predicted to get down to 34F. That is only 2 degrees away from freezing. Eeeek! I took the risk of planting early with the knowledge of the consequences of losing everything. I am hopeful that I can protect the plants enough to survive those cold temps.
** Homeschool & public school - both are going well. We are 6 weeks away from finishing up this school year. DS16 girlfriend is requesting that I homeschool her. Uhhhhhmmmmm NO WAY. IMHO she needs to stay in public school. Homeschool has been a blessing for DS16 but there is no way I would do it if there was a better option.
** Medical appts this week. We have got through 5 of the 8 appointments. Today is #6.

Hi! Thank you for starting us off this morning LadyM!

Not too much travelling here today for many residents of this tiny town. Last night just before 5 the power went out. A lot of people lost power for well over an hour. Not great, but dh and I used our BBQ to finish cooking our meal Ribs were almost done, and they went on the BBQ. I also had brown beans to go with the ribs. I transferred to beans to a different pot that didn't have a hard plastic handle and then they went out to the BBQ. I also wrapped up dh's spicy fries in some aluminum foil and out they went. Supper hit the table 10 minutes later than usual.

It had been snowing/raining from the time I left to get groceries and it was still raining when the power went out. It became an absolute downpour after that. Our patio and back yard were saturated. When I woke up this morning, hundreds of basements in our tiny town were flooded. Roads were under water as well. Part of our road just north of us has water over the road beside a pond.

I'm fairly certain I'm staying close to home today. I do have to go to the bank, but a main street in our tiny town has been under construction for quite a while and people are posting on FBook that a lot of the holes that had been filled with dirt waiting to be covered with cement got filled with water last night and now most of the holes are dangerous and the road can't be driven on. Therefore I might wait until tomorrow.

Whew. It's been a rough 24 hours but dh and I don't have a flooded basement, so we are grateful for that.

LucyLee if your GS can't hold down water, can someone take him to an emergency room at a hospital. He might be dehydrated.

Looking in from the library. Today must be the slowest day here, I think I'm the only patron in this huuuuuge room. There is a librarian and an archivist stationed here also.

Last night I ordered in, dh had given me some DoorDash gift cards. Lamb burger just ok, fries excellent. Quiet evening and I slept better and feel better today than I did yesterday. Sneezing has stopped.

Cathy — dgs had a doctor’s appointment this morning. I’m hoping ddil will let me know soon what they said.

I told my yard man just now that I am taking today OFF — he was apologizing for getting me out of bed. I am worn out.

Hoping lucylee's ds and ddil get answers and help from the dr's appt today - so concerning when your child is sick.

Twins' Mom seems to have an ideal situation for study. Twins', there is no danger of you being criticized for just following the crowd in your interests.

Cathy, that was a smart save for your meal. Wow, the weather has been hard on your area. Hopeful that you see the sun drying things out soon.

LadyM, it was sweet (and naive) of her to ask you. But as perfect as a teen couple may look for each other, it can change almost instantly, so you are quite right to quickly say no to that extra homeschooling idea. As far as the tooth extractions, your family is well-informed and knowledgeable about the possible problems in advance, so that is a big help. There are potential fixes for brief freezing temps - I have never done the smudge pot idea because of fire possibilities and having to stay awake all night. I hope the forecast changes.

I had a hard night last night and had to ask HRH for help at about 3. Needed to get to the kitchen to take some meds and felt too weak, unsteady. He just went and brought everything I needed back for me, so that was fine, just messed up the night's sleep for both of us. We're assuming this is the fatigue the dr told us to expect and will be temporary. Awakened feeling better this a.m. and so far, that's continued. I do seem to be in a pattern of better mornings, poorer evenings, though, so maybe I should rush to get anything I want done.

The visit with ddolder and WonderBoy was fun last evening. We enjoyed them so much. WonderBoy squeezed us in between his volunteering at the library (art class for youngsters yesterday) and a soccer practice. He loved the book - could hardly take his nose out of it. A humorous collection of coding puzzles and projects. Ddolder remembered my long-ago stand-up comedy routines for our then-church, now gone. She insisted I tell her favorite bit from that because WonderBoy had never heard it. The cake they brought was very good and I had a half piece - maybe I shouldn't have, now that I think about my bad night - who knows.

Mystery - I had wondered if the gaming announcement had anything to do with the gift suggestion here for what I would call a gaming suitcase (switch, yes). But these are young users - I doubt they are as interested in cutting-edge gaming as your family. Well, their parents are probably hoping they are not, at least, lol. I bet the new issue will be expensive.

Well today is Thursday so it must mean its laundry day. One load washed and in the dryer with another one just starting to wash.

I've done all my morning routines, picked up footprints, took a shower and now my dry hair is on top of my head with a few rollers..Ole' timey way to do my hair.

Twins...The problem I am having with my research is many of my documents are hand written and found in my family's 1813 bible. I also that the original marriage certificates, some dating back as far as 1826. What I keep running into is that the state of PA only has records births, marriages and deaths starting in 1906. And everything else must be obtained through the churches and cemeteries of the state, and they are not very helpful. The DAR sometime doesn't accept bible records even thought I can provide photos of the bible and what it contains as well. Of course I can submit pictures of my ancestors gravestones with dates of birth and deaths, but sometimes those aren't accepted either.

In the past you were also able to submit pictures of husbands and wives gravestones with names and dates written on them, but they are no longer being accepted as well. I can provide other records, but the DAR wants birth, marriage and death records and there in lies the problem. I need records that date back to the 1780's which my bible has, but most churches no longer keep those types of records. And some of the churches no longer exist or have joined with other churches.

Lucylee...your gs's symptoms sound like what I had before I was diagnosed with my Hiatal Hernia. A gastro dr is his best bet to solve the problem.

Next up..pay my bills, get my nails done and later water my sunnies. Some type of bugs have decided to gnaw on some of their leaves, so I dusted them with Sevens and that should take care of the problem. I also need to pick up a prescription that has just been filled.

My pad for my new rug came yesterday and after I finish here Sweetie and I will once again...and hopefully for the last time..remove the table and chairs so we can install the pad under the new rug and we should be finished.

I've gone up and down the driveway a few times. Today is compost/recycling day. I forgot it is Thursday, so I also forgot to get the recycling out early. Oh, well... next week.

I've emptied the 2 garbage cans and cleaned the 2 litter boxes, so the house must smell better. I also turned on the dishwasher. There isn't any gurgling so the sump pump must be doing it's job.

Dh went and got eggs directly from the farmer. That was $5/dozen, same we've been paying for years. He also picked himself up some soda. Just before we were headed out, the cable company showed up, so I stayed home and unstunk the house. They had to bury a cable between the house and the cable box in our neighbour's front yard. I'm happy that was done.
