Smiles I do not do a good job of my own diet and can't speak that I know best. I am spoiled with ds helping cook as much as he does. But editing dad's style is going to be another whole dimension lol. He is much like ds15 create his own ideas. He never learned how to cook the way mom did. She did most of the time and then he would occasionally make something. Now he only knows how to create stuff and forgot all the stuff he used to like. So a very limited menu or take out....

Hi, all. I never made it back yesterday. After getting my hair washed, I mostly lay in bed and scrolled on my phone. Probably the least effective way of dealing with stress, but we are all capable of self-sabotage. That said, I am up at a decent hour and can get my day on track to hit the main goals. The weather is cooperating. Ice rain and snow are done, but it is raining now when I don't want to go outside, and is forecast to just be cloudy later when I do. I have the little slow cooker working on ground beef and potatoes, and a ham thawing out in the fridge so I won't starve as I slide into the spite shift at work.

First up: set up the breadmaker and get it going.

Hello everyone!

Trissie, I agree, routines really can keep us going, :D

Gma, I hope you can get some answers regarding your foot.

L.Ann, DH has been asking where all the things are that I tidied away!!! I think he's just going to have to get used to it, as I find the uncluttered look so much easier to live with.

Enjoy your jog, Helian!

(((Smilelee))) - Helian's advice is spot on, to do something just for you today.

Laura, I can understand how your DDad is struggling with suddenly having to change his diet, but I'm sure you'll be a kind and tactful teacher.

Dogged, do you just get allocated shift patterns, or do you get to pick them?

Church was very good, and we had a lovely celebration for DF PM's birthday afterwards. Jude had weight loss clinic this afternoon, and I am very happy to announce that she has finally lost some weight!🥳😀😀 (Only 35 grams, which I think is just under 1.5 ounces, but she is supposed to lose weight slowly -it's a marathon, not a sprint). I've hoovered the car, and now I'm thinking about doing something iny garden. It's not the sunny 21C we were promised, but it's dry and still quite pleasant.

Thanks, ladies!

helia ~
a little more on the bed.... The mattress wasn't all that great on the hospital bed provided to dm, so I got her a really nice memory foam topper. She loved it.

oh... love my haircut! It's cute ~ a little bit shorter style called a short, shaggy bob. I think it frames my face better.

I gotta little more stuck, so I sprayed some BGD on the chair. 😊. I'm d2ex and headed to the gym to expend some energy.

- grocery run
- pick up DBD
- drive DBD to scout session

ToDos
- morning routine

kittykatt, they give each employee about five shifts to choose from. If they are happy with you, you get a real choice. If they are trying to get you to quit, then all five choices are basically the same and they are all bad. I think that it's a relatively new phenomenon (like the past 20-30 years, not when we started working) that certain types of companies will deliberately churn employees so that they don't build up benefits and that the tiny raises don't accumulate. I certainly saw that going on in my little stint in retail 10 or 15 years ago. But those companies normally have simplified processes so that new employees can step straight into the job when experienced ones quit. In my current company, they have bizarrely convoluted processes to achieve the simplest things with work conditions that guarantee that new employees will fail their standards. At first I thought that it was me, that because I'm old my brain has slowed down and I'm just not getting things quickly enough, but I've been there long enough to realize that this is failure-by-design, and that if employees manage to meet a standard they just move the goal further out of reach. So why do I stay? When I was hired, the job market was great. But the job market has been bad for over a year and it is teetering on disaster, so for a work from home job I'll stick it out as long as I can. If I can make it to the end of May, I'll have started my pension, which won't be anywhere near enough to live on, but might cover my groceries and buy me a little breathing space if I lose my job.
Woo hoo on the weight loss, Jude!

It's great to have a hair cut that you love, Smile*Lee. It can be such a mood booster.

I have got the bread maker going. Time to spiff myself and get the laundry going, so that it will all hung when it's time for me to walk over to the veterinary clinic and pick up Germane's new food.

You have been put on notice, EU Reporting. trissie is not a fan!

Have fun at the art garden with Little Bit, L Ann. I see the rain is coming your way later.
Well done, Jude!
Mm... I bet your home smells wonderful with all the cooking, Doggedly.
Thanks Smile! Apparently, she has a special mattress right now and I think they're going to try to replicate that, maybe an air mattress to prevent bedsores? Or something? So glad you like your haircut!
