Re: Fifth Sunday in Lent -Passion Sunday
Passion Sunday marks the beginning of Passiontide, the period of the last two weeks of Lent, which focuses on the suffering and death of Christ. It's a bit confusing as Palm Sunday, when the Passion Narrative is read is still a week away, and , since Vatican 2, many Catholics now call Palm Sunday, Passion Sunday. But, such is life!
Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Sunday, however you celebrate it.

Good morning, SHE-ville!
I opted for a slow morning instead of church. I mean, it's cold out there and I didn't really fall asleep till after 1am and the week's gonna be crazy so I need my rest!
The twins have a birthday party to attend and we're gonna go shopping in the meantime with the other two kids, so not much will be done. Basic pick up will help us set us for the week to come and maybe I could make myself work on some of the organizational tasks on my list in the evening?
What's for lunch in your household, kittykatt?

Re: Fifth Sunday in Lent -Passion Sunday
* * * Good Morning! * * *
And technically it's afternoon for Continental SHEs.
kittykatt, thanks for the start. Have a peaceful Sunday and a good time at church. I'm not sure if Palm Sunday is called Passion Sunday in France. I seem to remember it's more like a Sunday when we rejoice, weirdly, before the last week when it's about the most painful events and death of Christ. Well I have memories of bonfires in the church yard on Palm Sundays, or Saturdays in the evening, and for me it was a kind of joyful thing to watch as a teenager. I haven't been a regular churchgoer since then so I woudn't know.
trissie, a slow Sunday morning is a good thing. I'm sorry I'm not caught up on posts, is there a special reason for the upcoming week to be crazy, or is it just your "normal" crazy which to me seems crazy enough as it is ?
I went to the SHEboards while things are still up, and found old posts with "Weekend Cleaning Challenge" messages and pics, from 2008 and around. I was quite productive on some weekends at the time...
Thank you all for the birthday wishes yesterday. I didn't find enough time to post later, and the weather was nice, and I baked a simple cake, and MrNG put candles on it, and I got presents, ... and then neighbouring kids visited, and other stuff happened... I was tolerably productive. I intend today to be a good mix of productive and relaxing.
MrNG went in nearby city to get free wire mesh (4 meters) to grow beans and cucumbers on, given by a gardening lady who has an allotment, she offered to give us artichoke plants, he is all excited and trying to prepare soil in a well-lit corner to welcome two artichokes.
TADAs
up, quiet bfast, load of towels in washer
emptied DW, fixed two payroll meals from leftovers
had long talk with DS9 - he can express feelings and disagreements quite well now, I like that he trusts me with his difficulties and challenges (I hope it lasts through teenage years)
towels on drying rack
TODO
family photobook 2024 : August pics in, maybe September too
weekly to-dos : house-related, organization-related
MrNG said he would cook lunch - it's noon and he hasn't started yet, see if I can help ?
and more

Re: Fifth Sunday in Lent -Passion Sunday
Good morning L.Ann ! Enjoy walking with your friend !
Beautiful sunny weather. DS6 is sitting under a shelter made with quilts and bits and pieces. DS9 is back from playing with neighbouring kids at local soccer stadium. I want to get things done so I feel more serene when Sunday night stress arrives.
Cup of very light coffee (you can see through it).
TADAs
ended up making lunch
helped DS6 make a quilt/fabric shelter beteen two garden chairs
some gardening talk with MrNG - rhubarb, artichokes, may be in our future
TODO
family photobook 2024 : August pics in, maybe September too
weekly to-dos : house-related, organization-related
and enjoy the quiet

Re: Fifth Sunday in Lent -Passion Sunday
Getting here kinda late; we need to be otd in 45 minutes, and I still need to shower, etc. I'm finishing my coffee and cuops.
CG1 was wonderful, as usual. It felt good to do a little deeper cleaning. We had a nice mix of foods, a couple salads to go with the chicken bowls and desserts. S2 made these iced cookies that I absolutely love. I ate 4-5 of them.
I didn't track my food yesterday, and I'm quite sure I ate too much. I didn't jog either. BUT today is a new day! Church, a jog, some payroll to prep for tomorrow, and some progress on exam prep will be on the docket. We're hosting dinner for the Cs and maybe the girls. M is out of town.
SO glad you got a slow Sunday morning, trissie. I think FFB's comment is spot on re: your definition of craziness.
Enjoy walking with your friend, L Ann.
Artichoke plants sounds fancy FFB. I love to eat artichokes, but I don't think we can grow them here - or can we? Are they very fussy? Hope you hit the right combo of relaxing and productive. I love the image of DS6 sitting under a quilt fort!
I hope you have a good church service. Enjoy your famous Sunday lunch, Kitty!
I need to hop in the shower now. I'll be back this afternoon and post proper lists.

Re: Fifth Sunday in Lent -Passion Sunday
Morning all. Hmmm I should get up and do stuff. I don't want to yet. I can't decide. Do I get up and paint first and then shower? Or do I do regular routine that I did do yesterday. I should probably go check on mom and dad this afternoon. I need some down time. What to do...
Sounds like you did manage to celebrate your birthday frenchie? Nice
Trissie you are always busy but you're right I think your normal week is over the top for me.
Lann that sounds like me 630 is severely the most sleep in I can do. At least at home. I don't know if it is the time change but sometimes in Alberta we can make it till 7. That's good though it's supposed to be holidays there.
Helian you ended up with a lovely meal.
Now I have to decide... paint? Shower? Routines? Painting will be good so I can get 2 coats of ceiling today. No routine will happen. Can I get away with not needing to check up on the parents? Something tells me he'll invite us later for 'visit' help? I didn't yesterday. My sister might have. Someone else might have?
I'm going to post what I did after this time.

Re: Fifth Sunday in Lent -Passion Sunday
Frenchie, I have a non-negotiable reporting deadine on April 15 with a reporting tool I have never worked with before, so basically I have to have everything ready by the end of the coming week to have two days to get the data through in case something goes wrong. And it's twins' birthday next weekend, so if we are not doing a party for their friends, we should do something for family.
L.Ann, what time do you usually go to bed?
are you cooking tonight, helia, or will it be another potluck type of meal?
so did you get started on the painting, lauralind?
We're home. We have a carpet and three pairs of pants, yay!
Next step - get the paint. We'll do a repeat the previous color scheme - light green on the angled wall and white on the rest, and the carpet is beige. Since DBD's bed is green, and I don't want to replace that one, it's not like there's that many options that will work even when she gets in her teen years!
TaDas
- morning routine
- 3x 10 minute crisis clean - kitchen, living room, bathrooms/hallways
- get started on lunch
- midday routine
- measure carpet
- drive twins to birthday party
- buy carpet
- buy new pants for DS
- get gas
- load of towels washed and dried
- washing a pillow from Terri's bed that had a paint stain somehow?
ToDos
- afternoon routine
- 15 on laundry
- pick up twins from party
Braindump
routines
- evening routine
food
- dinner
- bake something sweet
organization
- homework and backpacks
- DBD's speech therapy
- pharmacy order
- order clothes stand for bedroom
- start assembling documents for tax returns
- 15 on filing
- amendment to rental contract
- rental accounting
- deal with insurance
cleaning
- clean office
- spiff up DBD's room
- spiff up DS13's room
- spiff up twins' room
- spiff up master bedroom
laundry
- load of cleaning rags
