--- I got a bit emotionally stuck from last week's milestone, but I made it through - and I'm back! G is off to Texas. Woke up this morning at 4:30. The body took over and quick spiffed the main floor. Well.. it wasn't exactly quick. I'd let a lot of things slide over the last few days. But, I was done by 6:30 - d2e and all. oops... forgot to water the plants. I'll do that in a bit.
--- I trimmed back my 20-year-old ficus bush monster down to the bone a while back. I left no green. Got out most of the dead branches/vines. Amazingly, there are sprouts all over it! I do need to repot the thing. I probably should do that soon.

helia, there SO many roses! Google says over thirty thousand! The ones in my garden, other than the peace rose, do not have names that would allign with the first letters in the alphabet - I have two Queen Elizabeth (pink), a Helmud Schmidt (yellow), Kronenbourg (white with purple edges), Queen of Bermuda (red), and several others that I don't remember the names of.
lauralind, you can't change the past, but you can start taking photos of your favourite places now and then make a collage as they change through the seasons!

Home from work. No crazy overtime today, but I am pretty confident I will finish my crazy new EU reporting tomorrow. It's gonna be a breeze the next time we (well I) will be filling that out, it's just the first one that was a nightmare. I'm so glad I am on good terms with both our ICT director and the finance director and they give me answers pretty much right away whatever I ask, I don't know how I'd do it without them! Of course the finance director is like my work husband, so it goes both ways, we just look out for each other. But I think a little sweet thank you will be appreciated once this is over!
DH is attending the parent-teacher conference, and DS's scout session was cancelled, so I have a free afternoon. So much to do, but I know where to start!

I think initially some prices seemed lower, Smile. I'm not sure about quality as I don't remember before. Some produce is actually better at Kroger, imho, and some + variety is better at WF. We always get our fish and special meat from WF, like I'll get my Easter leg of lamb there. I'm not super observant about some things since grocery shopping is not my favorite activity.

I checked the other forum a few days ago. It hadn't disappeared, but seems no one is posting, because we've moved over here.
I had a most pleasant dream of dh last night, it seemed like we were really together . I'm still in bed, relishing the memories, but have to get up soon.
My car needs to be cleaned out. It transports between my house and mother's, between her care center, her house and mine, plus all the places I go, especially church bulletins, etc., so it can easily get quite cluttered.
After cleaning up my kitchen yesterday, I left quite a few "footprints" later in the day, so that has to be my first task today, since it's raining and I can't do my car until it's dry and warmer outside.
Trissie, thanks for the rose today. My imagination can smell it (ok, so the emoji is red, there wasn't a white one )
Kittykatt, you descriptions of your garden are always wonderful.

I could get up and paint but I think I will wait till after. H can come whenever after lunch. I guess I will do a bit more tidy first. I'm hungry too but not sure what for....

I'm glad that you have nice weather to enjoy your garden.

helia, we have all had those days where we feel "If only I had stayed in bed, I'd be further ahead". But inertia is on your side: you are always in motion and so busy that you will quickly recover the lost ground.

laurlind, is the full creek good news or bad news? We don't know what to hope for for BC these days. I remember one map that showed the same area on fire and flooded at the same time.
That's great that you have a friend coming over to help you paint. As much for the support as for the actual help.

Smile*Lee, I bought a sensible Christmas planter that has turned into a jungle in a pot. The polka dot plants are reaching for the ceiling, and the vines are almost to the floor. And I don't have a green thumb at all, so I can't explain it.


Trissie, your rose garden sounds beautiful. How wonderful to have a rare afternoon off, and, even better, to know what to do with it.

Gma, those sound like good memories.
I have "clean out the car" on the list for today too, if the walkway is not all slushy. This close to spring, I don't want to rust out the wheels on the hand truck when I can just wait a couple more weeks. But I need to clean out the car before I get it towed to have the brakes fixed. It's at the age where every trip to the garage might be its last, so best to have everything removed from the car first. It's irritating that I had just gotten the back seat all covered and set up Germane's crate in the back of the car to live there permanently, and on the very next trip the brakes went. She never even had the chance to ride in it before I have to haul it back upstairs. That's life.

Stopping by while I eat lunch. I've made good progress but not the ideal progress I wanted to make. I spent time putting phrasal verbs into a game website for my students. It should be a more interesting way to review and practice in class -- but it cost me a lot of time.

I need to be otd in 15 minutes. Then, I'm scheduled until 6 pm - unless J11yo plays early. I don't seeing a jog happening today. It might be a walk today and then a jog tomorrow, though I'm also working out with the trainer tomorrow.
