Feet moving when they hit the ground Thursday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Are your feet moving when then hit the ground? I mean, are you getting up and getting to what needs to be done, or lollygagging about, drinking coffee and surfing online, like me most mornings?

I had to start moving as soon as I was up this morning. It feels pretty good!

Dcleaning lady comes this a.m. and I have a mammogram appointment at 11. I've s2s-ed already and stripped the bed and started the sheets in the washer. Dh came back in from his workout around 8:15ish and got his shower, so I wanted to be done in there (both showered and straightened up, put away clothes hanging to dry, etc. before he got here.)

This must be my out-of-the-house day. I return to my workouts at two today, and have an appointment for body work at 4:30. Then home to put together supper.

I think I'm going with fish tonight - will thaw in refrigerator today and ask dh to check if he gets home before I do. There's a recipe on the package for a warmed slaw that the fish is served over and I'm going to try the rest of the Costco Mediterranean chopped salad prepped that way.

With a very early phone call this morning, I've been taken off what we hope is the offending med. The scheduler tried to get me an appt with this dr for a follow-up but couldn't find anywhere on my schedule and gave up for a while. I'll just call in to tell them how I'm doing.

I have a very set morning routine that is really ingrained by now. I know exactly what I want to do for personal routine and it serves me well. Looking forward to getting back to that "feet moving" kind of morning when summer comes.

There's a strict diet for me to follow today that began at noon and lasts 24 hours. Nothing that might affect blood sugar is the main thing. I don't really have a problem with that but will be thoughtful. I have a leftover portion of my skillet meal with poblano peppers, and plans for a big salad, so that will be my main meal this afternoon or evening. Nothing in the morning. Tomorrow we will leave by about 10:45 for a small city about 40 minutes away for my appt. I'm sure I will be both starving and ready for a nap after that, so we will see which one wins out, lol.

"The slipper shuffle" - oh Nancy, you and I could do the old soft-shoe together. Hoping you are back to your usual active self quickly.

Taxes are in the mail. I've showed HRH where all my Desk Day supplies are in case he needs them sometime. He was surprised to find he didn't have any masculine return address labels at all since we've moved. lol. Only very childish or very lacy-floral. Can't help it - we give to children's charities and they send these ADORABLE ones. ;) I told him if it really bothered him sometimes, cut the design away.

Quiet morning here! I was out for mammogram and then stopped off at the cemetery. We need to do some pruning and weeding of an invasive plant in with privet that was planted years ago. (It's invasive too but the hedge is at the edge of a wall so no one falls off.) And I can see a couple of stones that need to be reset and places where we need to do some backfilling. I stopped at the other Publix to get some forgotten items from yesterday including my assignments for the Passover seder.

I have about an hour before I'll leave for workout. After workout I think I have time to stop at home and to go to the post office for the HOA before my body work. Both are in the other direction. Going to spend some time getting back to looking for the catalog reference I was looking for yesterday so I can write my citation. Why didn't I do that while I was there, lol.

I'm setting an alarm for me to get ready for workout. I'll be glad to be done with today. Three commitments out of the house is a bit much for me. Dh said we could go out to eat but I don't want to eat out again.

Hi.

I was just sitting at my computer this morning and suddenly realized it was garbage day. Thankfully it was just after 7, so I got up and got the recycling out. Got the garbage and compost out after that. Took out a package of ground meat for tonight's cheeseburgers. I still have to take out a couple of buns for dh. We will be having mac and cheese from a box to go with the burgers.

There is a federal election coming up here at the end of the month. Dh and I went and voted just before I sat down to post here. I've also sent a picture of my photo ID to a lawyer that my brother is using for something.

It's overcast here today and there were tiny snowflakes, but nothing stuck. It was also windless this morning, so now all the burning has been done that needed doing.

I also went to a book store and got a book that came out today that I was waiting for from a Canadian author.

Other than that, I'm not getting much done.

Had a mini emergency here.
I am okay!
The boiler was on the stove and I could not get it to shut off.
So I shut off the breaker.
Called my son he was not available till after it was off.
[ It burned my lunch. ]
Dson called after and gave me some input.
Might need to do a hard reset and turn on the breaker after it cools down.
This is one is old 15 - 20 yrs old. so maybe in the market for a new one.

I have boiled eggs I can eat with tuna.
Microwave food later for dinner.
Or take out.

We are quiet today! Those feet must still be moving! I have 7900 steps already.

As usual, my workout was great - did a lot of stretching and strength. My shoulders have been feeling hunched from the driving and library, so I know the stretching and body work/massage will help me loose it back up. I went on by the post office and picked up HOA mail.

Dd called me just as I was getting back into the car after my workout. She wanted to tell me that the HR person said something "weird" to her and get my opinion. The A/C was blowing and I was hot in the car and I had to tell her we'd have to talk later. I did try to call her back just now and she didn't pick up. I need to learn to leave off worrying about her because I feel like I'm always worried about something with her and I kind of feel like a whipping boy. She dumps her worries on me and goes on.

And dfriend who had tax question called back last night at 8:30 and I didn't pick up. I was already in bed with the dog reading. I called back this a.m. and he didn't answer, then texted him to call if he still needed to talk. Texted me back that he spent $60 on TurboTax support and it took them more than hours on the phone with him to resolve it. So he's good.

I have to turn back around and leave the house in less than 30 min. I had a snack already,

Ddog is basking in the sun outside. I'd like to walk her before I leave but could leave a note asking dh to do it. We have rain coming in later, was supposed to rain this afternoon but whatever.

Oh, Nancy, (yipes) I'm glad it turned out to be something you could handle quickly. I hate it almost any time a breaker has to be turned off. Good to have your son to have two heads to put together to think about it.

Twins', you will end up with a high total of steps today, for sure.

This has been a very low energy day, not unexpected. Possibly the med change has started to be a good thing. It will take longer to be sure.

Dstepson came by and got our cardboard to put with his own. He'll take that tomorrow. He's using our truck tomorrow for the simple reason that it will get a real long drive with him to work and back. It almost never gets driven on long drives anymore and HRH started thinking he should switch out and kill a couple birds with one stone. Dstepson's vehicle will have a day off, too.

He brought me a cute hat. Possibly not my favorite since it has the shape of a bonnet, but a good brim for outdoors.
