Good Friday! PWYC version

Post by Twins' Mom »

Although we don't celebrate Easter (Jewish) I am taking note of what a Good Friday today is, both in religious terms and as an adjective to describe this lovely new day.

We have company coming in, the house looks good (or will by the time they get here!) and it's partly sunny. What a Good Day to be together, in our homes and here, our little village online, with good friends.

Good morning to all!

I didn't get back here after dh got home yesterday but was busy until late afternoon. I got my shower and we went out to eat, then by Target for a shower curtain and bought more, lol.

Today it's finish the clean up, company in, and dinner in tonight. Dh is home and will go to the grocery for me this morning, I just need to compile a list. Time to get moving again!

Hi!

Thank you for starting us off this morning Twins' Mom!

I finally emptied the dryer. I still need to put those clothes away.

Overcast here today, so I might wash more windows and mirrors.

I do need to water all the inside plants.

Dh doesn't want salmon tonight, he wants rigatoni with meat sauce and hot sausage added to his sauce. I'm flexible. That means no cottage roll tomorrow night either as we will have leftover pasta tomorrow night.

Other than that, nothing going on around here until Tuesday.

Good morning!
I need to do the following, before 1:00 pm when bug lady arrives:
— get dgs some lunch
— clean bathrooms
— finish vacuuming
—— study
—— kids’ room
—— laundry room
— dust study

Tonight at 6:00 ddil, Dgd, and I will go to church for Good Friday service.
I am trying to STAY OUT OF IT in regards to dgs. I am pretty sure they have all forgotten that the 7th-8th grade “formal” is tonight. Dgs was back and forth about going but then asked for money for it. He has no girl he was interested in and we were surprised he wanted to go. IMHO they start this stuff too early anyway.
Now the high school team is playing the first game of play-offs here at home tonight, and dgs and ds are planning to go.
Soooo, uncharacteristically, I plan to keep my mouth shut and just wait and see what happens.
Tomorrow is another day.

running to catch up with SHE friends....

I was up and at em early that resulted in having my personal AM care done by 6:30am. I have stayed on task the first 6 hours of my day which feels wonderful.

Tomorrow is new stove delivery day so I need to use my time wisely today in prep. The garage needs to be decluttered and organized to ensure easy passage through it into the kitchen. The refrigerator must be moved out of the kitchen area so the stove replacement can happen. That also means disconnecting water lines. All these appliances moving means areas that aren't easily accessible to be cleaned frequently will be exposed. Who knows what treasures we be found?

Garage is ready for tomorrow.

The water line has been disconnected and the refrigerator moved to the other side of the kitchen. The floor has been swept but it needs a deep cleaning to happen while the refrigerator is out of the way.

I am having a spell of low energy. This is day #4 of being caregiver to sick ones. DD13 and I was up late last night trying to find the right combination of OTC meds to help her. She seems to be doing a little better today and not feeling quite as miserable. Ditto with DH. He is able to hear better today so that seems to be a sign pointing toward the swelling decreasing.

Good afternoon!

It is just about impossible to go to Target and get just one thing, isn’t it, Twins? I hope you get everything you want to (or at least everything you need to) done and can enjoy your friends’ visit.

I hope your cough goes away soon, Nancy. Your talk of yarn gauge samples reminds me yet again of just how crafty you are! I’m envious of all the things you do.

Have a nice, relaxing weekend with nothing to do, Cathy!

I think it sounds like the “formal” has been put off the agenda, lucylee. I hope you ladies have a lovely church service, and the guys bring home a winner!

You’ve already had a busy day, LadyM, and it sounds like there’s more to come. Don’t push too hard, lest you become one more patient to take care of.

I hope Harriet is doing well today following her late-night escapades.

I should get started on dinner soon, or at least check to see how long things will take to cook. I’d like everybody to have some supper before I take DC to their play and DH heads off to do the Good Friday livestream.

I also need to get that grocery list going. I think I might take some things along to work on it in the car while I wait between DC’s call time and when the doors open. I don’t think the gap is going to be big enough to go home in between, or at least make the trip worthwhile.

Well, it sounds like I’ve got my evening cut out for me — I’d better go do!

I went to read on the bed for a while. Dh came in. I asked to be woken up at 3:30 so I could start supper. I woke up on my own with dh snoring beside me just before 4. It's a good thing I can make meat sauce with my eyes closed. Right now there is a large pot of meat sauce with hot Italian sausage bubbling away on one burner and a smaller pot without the hot Italian sausage on another and the water is almost boiling.

Dh just went past and apologized because he fell asleep. No problem, everything is totally under control.

I also cleaned 2 litter boxes earlier and cleaned some mirrors and the back door glass inside and out. I also went around the kitchen and scrubbed off a few marks above the microwave and a few other spots behind where the cat food dishes are.

I think dh and I both slept so well because it was raining when I woke up. It sounded great, but I couldn't stay in bed to enjoy it.
