Are you having a "Stay at home" Saturday?

Blessedw2 and LadyM are having important deliveries today. Trees, bushes and a stove!

What are your plans for the day if you aren't staying at home?

I'm not sure, but I think dh wasn't well during the night. Shower curtains are both wide open, there is a towel in the washing machine and a garbage bag all tied up in the garbage. He has 2 blankets over him in the bed and he's still sleeping.

We have no plans for the weekend at all. No plans for today either. As far as I know, dh is having the leftover pasta tonight. I don't know what I'm going to have.

Good morning, Cathy! I hope your DH feels better soon.

I'm having a "stay at home Saturday". DH has left to do front of house for the matinée performance of his amateur dramatic society, and then will be going straight to choir practice, so I have about seven hours not only at home, but also on my own!

So, before he left, I did a quick PUPA, dust and hoover downstairs, and wound the clock in the sitting room (we have two clocks in there, one, which DH gave me, is of a very unusual modern design, in a beautiful wood, and the other dates back to the 1930s, chimes every half hour, and needs winding, and often the time slightly adjusting - it tends to gain or lose a bit decent on temperature, outside humidity etc- once a week.). Now he's gone, I've scooped the cat trays, gathered the recycling to take down to the bins, and given that little chair another polish, and taken Freddie for his walk.

The rain has stopped. For now. But I'm not sure how long for, so I'm going to do outside jobs like taking the rubbish out and having a few minutes in my garden next.

Then, I'll probably spend the rest of the day inside. Plans include, prepping lunch for tomorrow -we have lamb for Easter, and I make apple pie for dessert. I prefer to make my pastry when I'm less likely to be interrupted, so this afternoon would be a very good time! Also iron the chair backs and scatter cushion covers I washed yesterday, and out them back in place. I would like to do a little more decluttering in the bedroom, and I also need to bake a cake. I would like to make a slightly more fancy one than usual as it's Easter, but can't make a Simnel cake as DH doesn't like marzipan. Decisions, decisions!

Good Morning!

I am in waiting mode. Stove delivery is scheduled for some time between 7am to 11am. DH and I were both up and ready for them before 7am. It was a super slim chance they would arrive that early. The old stove has been pulled out and the walls and floor has been washed where the new stove will go. Now we wait......

After the stove arrival, installation and testing then I will turn my focus to preparing for Easter meal. If I can make it happen then I will, if not.....<<<<shrug shoulders>>>> we can order pizza! It will be A-OKay however it turns out.

I am really over the weather people giving doom and gloom forecast. It is ridiculous

Dh was up briefly. He said he had a pain in his gut during the night and ended up needing a shower. I've put the bathroom garbage in a green garbage bag and the washing machine is going. There is a neighbourhood cat outside. I think it might be a male. Our cats were outside yesterday smelling the garbage cans, the fences, the bricks of the house and each other's behinds... thankfully all 3 of our cats have been fixed.

I need to empty the dishwasher and wash a couple of pots/pans.

The new stove is in place, leveled and tested. After months of not having a working oven, I feel like the door to the world of cooking possibilities has swung open. What will I cook first?

Spring break started Thursday for us. We did music lessons, supposed to have a play date but it was canceled at the last moment so I tried to do a fun day with pizza and the playground. Friday my MIL did an egg hunt for the neighborhood kids, then we went to a good friday service. I am TIRED! So today is stay at home; it's hard to get anything much done when everyone is home, but I'm making them do 15 min. of cleaning the lego corner. I'm cleaning the hot spot of the dining room table and making everyone put their stuff away after I sort it. I also promised to make a cake and let my kids decorate it with peeps, color some eggs, pick out clothes for tommorrow. Next week we have some doctor /dentist appointments but I just want to have a few home days. It gets too chaotic when we are gone everyday, then we get back and no one wants to do anything to pick up. For my kids it's so much better when we can take it slow and do "tasks" after breakfast instead of rushing to get out the door for something!

My neighbor got a new one in the last year power surge knocked hers out and fried the computer stuff on it.

I spiffed up the other part of the kit. counters.
I have been out to move branches I cut off yesterday that need to be cut up a bit before they will fit in the can.
I picked up some seeds too squirrels have been at the all you can read green seed buffet already today.

I successfully started a new knitting project after a couple of false starts I have 15 rows and three pattern rounds done
on this prayer shawl.

Hi JoanThursday! When my dd was young, Tuesdays off meant going to a movie. Fridays were for a planned trip, like going to the Zoo or a local fair if there was one on that day. The stay-at-home days were for cleaning her room/playing at home type stuff. She also went to see her favourite grandmother.


Dh is still sleeping! That's okay.

Kittykatt, baking and gardening - cheerful plans for sure.

I have a JOY. Dd26 is coming alone today to clean the house and help me organize for upcoming plans. She is the perfect person for this since up until June she lived here, plus she is the child with whom it is easiest for me to be myself. I feel relief.

HRH is not so sure about this. Although he is still lying in bed, he is convinced he can take care of the house himself and doesn't want her to "ruin" her visit with work instead of enjoyment. But he has not been well enough to do any housework for three days and I am overwhelmed because fatigue only lets me do one thing, then sit. The kitchen is in a state.

Tomorrow on their way to her in-laws for a meal, she will bring dsonil by here and we will have a short visit so that we can see each other's faces and touch base normally.
