Frenchie, all four kids have left on Thursday morning for a scout field trip and are not due back till Sunday late afternoon. We always time the big projects for times the kids are not at home on the weekend. Back when that was not an option, we'd both take a day off work and get it done while they were at school/daycare, if possible starting the night before (like when we painted the living room). I guess that doesn't help much?
Well at least you don't have to do any watering today, kittykatt!

I've been banished from DBD's room because DH's perfectionist tendencies are taking over :-) Whatever, I say! We always work in tandem - he does the big stuff and I follow with a small roller and a brush to take care of corners and smaller areas, but he specifically prohited me from doing the sides around the green paint.

TaDas
- morning routine
- paint rest of DBD's room
- start lunch
- load of colors
- load of lights
- midday routine

ToDos
- start dough for Easter bread
- clean windows in master bedroom
- 15 on ironing / laundry

Good morning:)
Thanks for the start kittykatt! I always smile reading about "cuddles" with the kitties:)
trissie - painting this weekend? I'd love to... but have trouble doing it up high.
FrenchFly! - nice to see you!

I did not get here yesterday - it was a busy day with dgkids... We found a bunny (?) burrow in the backyard... Actually, Dpup found it and was sweet about it.
Spent some time fencing off the area to keep them safe.
but here I am.

Puppy seems to have a bit of a tummy upset - will hold off breakfast for a while. It's not raining yet, so I will try to take her out.
Plan for today is shopping for groceries, food prep, workout at the gym.

First:
med/supplements
D2S
puppy walk

Morning all. I guess I disappeared after morning yesterday. Church was lovely. Interchurch. People from a couple of different groups. Almost could have used more chairs. I think there's upstairs yet. Ds and ddil and dgs came so that was really sweet.

Dd and dsil arrived around 130. We contemplated a weiner roast at mom and dad's but nothing is ready yet and the weather was iffy. So we just did burgers and pasta salad. Dd was in love with her little nephew. Even dsil. He's going to make a wonderful daddy some day as well. Not yet as far as I know.

Today? Hmm. I need to look up hot cross buns recipe. Breakfast. Baking. Maybe dd and I can see if I can get my hair to curl different. I do like it short but it definitely has the stubborn kinks that I don't know how to make go the other way. Then we have to decide if we're doing meal Sunday or Monday. And just what are we making. Probably here. Unless we bring everyone to grandpa's. Then just decide what else. We could go exploring if the weather was nice...

Letting the kids sleep in a bit they were really tired last night. I should get up and do a few things before breakfast.

Priority list

Tidy laundry room
Tidy kitchen all the way
Bake hot cross buns
Decide menu and time for big family meal
Relax?
Explore somewhere?

Today's tada list

Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Put away unused bedding

Empty and reload dw
Breakfast for all when everyone is up

trissie, well it helps in so far as it shows me that's it's normal to struggle doing paiting projects with kids around :) We could arrange to have a kid sleep downstairs for a night or two if necessary - preferable not on nights with school the next day. Removing furniture from a bedroom would be another challenge entirely, it would make moving through the house quite difficult... Or maybe we could pile furniture and stuff in the middle of the bedroom and paint around it. Or if we paint only one wall or two (as in DS9's bedroom) we would just have to move everything to the opposite part. Well, still feasible...

kitkat, so glad to see you here ! I was afraid you might never find us again. I have been searching for your blog in order to send you a message, and I couldn't find the link... I'm relieved to see you're here. Also, glad no bunny was harmed.

L.Ann, why/where are you picking up tulips ? Is it for the Earth Day celebration ?

Lauralind good luck finding a hairstyle that fits your taste and is easy to maintain. How nice to plan a big family meal for Easter !

kittykatt I hope you're enjoying having a husband-free house until tonight. Yes I'm intending to improve my German while "protecting" some of my privacy at work - maybe not necessary, I may be slightly paranoid - it's a win-win for my professional prospects ;)

TADAs
cleaned up lunch (that MrNG cooked)
read stories, played 7-Families and Mistigri (old-maid game?)
cleaning in Zones (both bathrooms)
also entertained 6yo A-- who is a neighbouring girl, bright and friendly - she's now playing with DS6

TODO next
import December family photos on 2024 family photobook
final touches to book cover and such
afternoon snacks

TODO during 3-day weekend :
finish family photobook 2024 (only December left)
Easter : chocolate egg hunt in the garden
letter to DFriend J to continue
relax, enjoy the quiet, try and get fresh air with the kids, even if it rains

Frenchie, everything is a struggle with kids underfoot :-( I am not too fond of painting by walls, because that means you do four times the clean up, but sometimes you just do what you have to do!
lauralind, looks like you are up for some really nice family time!

DH is finally happy with the way DBD's room is painted. So now it's gonna be carpet fitting time!

TaDas
- afternoon routine
- clean window in master bathroom
- 15 on laundry

ToDos
- install carpet in DBD's room
- bake Easter bread
- final 15 on laundry (for today)

I've scanned your posts, but am continuing to feel exhausted. I wasn't keeping up before crutches, and now I can't even do that much. My thigh muscles hurt. I've been going between scooter and crutches, and discovering I just need to lie down - often! - and ignore the things that need doing. Dbro is amazing, he keeps telling me to let him do it... Whatever it happens to be. I think I l'll have him get me an ice pack.
I sure don't want to add hip bursitis to everything else I have to deal with.
FFB, I was happy to hear good report of your meeting.

Gma, I'm glad your brother is there and you can rest and take care of yourself.
I hope your boss respects the boundaries that were set, FFB. Nice that DS6 has a friend over.
Oh wow, trissie! You and dh are making serious progress in DBD's bedroom!
That was very kind of you to protect the bunnies, kitkat. Good for dpup for being sweet with the bunnies.
Hi Peaches!

I got 9 hours sleep last night, so I'm starting to relax and catch up.

Just had too long a lunch break. 1.5 hours before I need to leave for CG1. . . I got a bunch of errands run this morning into the early afternoon. I hope to do laundry and work in the MBR before CG1.

I was planning to jog today, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. I can do that tomorrow afternoon instead.

Next:
- start a load of darks
- back exercises
- tidy kitchen

Next:
- tidy bedroom
- payroll: progress on end of session tasks
- darks to dryer eventually
- make the bed (maybe put clean sheets on it?)
- otd @ 5 pm for CG1
- maybe walk?
- duo
- update health apps
- anything else?

TaDas!
- up late; weighed self -- down. Why?
- coffee and tea
- some qt
- ordered a couple tops for Mom
- bed made
- someone emptied and reloaded dw
- made a groc. list and gathered stuff for errands
- visited Mom; sounds like she's settling in well and the staff is very attentive.
- WF
- gassed the car
- postal place: Stitch Fix return + exchange
- girls' place - dropped off goodies and visited with dd26 and Fable for a bit
- put groceries away
- lunch
- ordered Mom nightgowns + face cream. She has no pajamas at all. I had no idea until I packed up her stuff; this NH has requested them. The last one never said anything about it to me. Maybe to Dad? They also requested a brush for her. I also didn't know she didn't own one. I suggested face cream and that was enthusiastically received by the caregiver as well.
